From what I remember, Conduit was accused of having generally bland/generic weapons, enemies, and levels. Sure, it was a shooter on the Wii, but it was mediocre at best outside of being an FPS on the Wii.
And for Madworld, that takes a very specific kind of humor. Not only were most of the levels fairly repetitive black and white kill-fests with an annoying announcer, but the kind of hyper-violent kill fests that that game represents (impaling people on the scenery, or things like challenges to throw as many people as you can under a giant press to crush them into goo) take a very specific type of audience. It was a step above Manhunt [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manhunt_%28video_game%29], which isn't really the best company to be keeping.
Or the snarky version:
Sega gave up on video games before when it got too competitive, and they're doing it again.
Man, I miss the old NES/Sega rivalry. Haven't had a chance to jab at Sega in years. (I'd usually be playing Sega games while tossing said insults)
Oh yeah, gimme a new Streets of Rage jerks.
