I hope not. Just look at Valkyria Chronicles. Or SEGA refusing to help Platinum.

It could turn out really good or really bad for both US and PAL where I live.

SEGA have a bit of a rep for keeping their handheld games in Japan. I let them off with Platinum Games though since the company was practically bankrupt at the time and facing major restructuring.

If Japanese games continue to be successful on Steam (that is what can get off Greenlight) then SEGA have more than enough talent to bring Atlus games to PC.

*still crossing fingers for XSeed, NIS, or Namco Bandi (On reflection not Namco Bandi) to buy Atlus*
Honestly, while this is better than them being bought by any of the Big 3 Sega is known for their bad localization times, however the PS4 is gonna be region free and I know Japanese so it's not as much of a problem for me. If anyone buys Atlus though I pray they leave them alone to and let them continue to do what they wanna do and that they'd allow them to do it the way they do it.

[HEADING=3]Also, this is Sega Sammy, not Sega themselves. Sega Sammy is a holdings company like how Index was to Atlus before, so Atlus would have to answer to a new holding company, not to Sega.

Well at least it might actually mean us Europeans will actually get Atlus games within a decent time-frame, at least compared to now, anyway. But then again, I could probably swim to America or Japan, buy the game, and swim back before an Atlus game gets localized in Europe at the moment. And I'm a lazy bastard.

And some of the multi-platform games might make their way to PC as well, for those that care about that. All in all, it could be worse.

Again, Sega Sammy is a holdings company like how Index was. Sega wouldn't have control over them unless Sega Sammy were to merge the company if they chose to.

^ that's true which might explain why SEGA don't seem to meddle too much with their western IPs to the extent EA or Square do.

If Atlus continue to make bank for SEGA Sammy it might be the same for them too.

Possibly although SEGA did close down much of their PAL publishing operations last year.

Nope. To me, Namco is still bad in terms of localization. They still have difficulty bring Tales games over.

Though NIS intrigues me... They've already started bringing Megaten games to the UK.

i hope that if atlus does indeed need to be bought that who buys doesn't stop games from being released here or elsewhere so bottom line is i hope nothing bad happens i don't want to lose persona 5 or other future games to oblivion or consoles i don't own

True, they can be bad with localization now that I think about it. But I'm wondering how many people are gonna jump and thing that Sega Sammy is Sega themselves, because they are different entirely in what they are. Sega's a game company, developer, and publisher, Sega Sammy is a holdings company like how Index was.

I agree, I also have a funnily feeling that how FROM has handled Dark Souls 2 is down to Bamco wanting to chase Skyrim money.

I don't want Konami either, those guys act like PAL doesn't exist with their PR, Jim Sterling does more PAL PR than they do.

That's why I put in SEGA Sammy instead of SEGA by itself.

I'm cool as long as it's not Nintendo. I mean, I have nothing against Nintendo, but if they acquired Atlus that would mean Nintendo consoles exclusivity and that would suck for me.

True, but in the OP you talked about decisions that SEGA themselves made when it came to Platinum Games and when it came to Valkyria Chronicles 3. While Sammy is the holdings company SEGA made those decisions. Plus if you look in the comments of the link you posted people were thinking it was SEGA who was buying them and only one person later on said that it was the Holdings company and not SEGA.

I, on the other hand, am kinda hoping they are bought by Nintendo as it feels like they probably wouldn't meddle with the games too much and Nintendo published games get EU releases pretty consistently[small]*[/small]. Plus, I love my 3DS. I use it even more than my PC.

I guess this makes us enemies.

[small]*Though it did take 18 years for Earthbound to reach our shores.[/small]

its a bad idea and liking or disliking there systems isn't the point here. it has a chance of cutting of most of the fanbase of atlus some will move others won't

Xseed is like, literally 7 people and some interns. While it would be awesome no doubt, it's more likely the bankrup atlus buys them than they atlus.

Well with Sega Sammy it wouldn't be bad because they just got a like 416% increase in profits and stocks, plus since it's a holding company everything about Atlus would stay intact since a holding company doesn't do anything but maintain the copyrights and investments, while the subsidiaries would be corporations like SEGA who actually make the business decisions. But XSeed is still what I wish, but as long as neither Sony, Nintendo, or Microsoft get them then everything will remain the same.

So long as Atlus games get timely releases around the world, and on multiple systems, I'm fine with whoever buys them. (So long as it isn't EA. I hate EA. >.<)
