No. Sell your Wii get a 360.
Better games, better hardware, far cheaper. If you feel you must get a ps3 then at least wait a few months. What with it being open knowledge they have cut their manufacturing costs by 70% they really have no excuse to keep the PS3 price soo fucking high. At least wait till christmas before you get one.

Sorry, but I'm going to have to point out that the 360 is inferior to the PS3 in every technical way -PS3 is faster, has a bluray player, much, much better media streaming, and much better graphics capabilities (The CPU can render).
Not to mention, the only exclusive titles the 360 has are Gears of War 2 and Fable 2, with Halo 3 coming to Windows 7.

Yeah, except for the obvious fact that the 360 performs far better than the ps3 [http://www.lensoftruth.com/?p=10974]. You can claim the ps3 has better graphics and is faster [http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=220530] all you want. But side by side the 360 keeps coming out on top.
Also, who really gives a rats ass about the bluray player? That is just a stupid pointless thing that really has no impact whatsoever.
Also the list of 360 exclusives is far [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xbox_360_exclusives] greater than what you claim.
Besides, being able to play the same games as PC users is actually a great benefit for the 360. Not to mention all the nice DLC 360 gets that ps3 doesn't.

Yes, the 360, side by side, will appear better, as all multiplatform games are made for an X86 architecture CPU. However, anyone who knows more than the basics about components knows that the Cell is far, far better than the tri-core in the 360.
When a company actually bothers to work with the cell upwards, and not make a half arsed conversion to the PS3, the results are far better. I've yet to see any game which even comes close to the graphics of MGS4 or Killzone 2.

Yes, it is 3 PS3's but it shows the power of the Cell, and then you have to consider it has a pretty decent GPU in to boot.

Plus, have a look at CryEngine3 on the PS3 and 360. As Crytek aren't a bunch of half-arsed devs, they strive for the best, as shown in the specs for Crysis. Because of this, the engine looks a hell of a lot better on PS3, with the particle effects being much, much better.
Who cares about the bluray player? Protip: Get a HD TV. At £160 for a 23" HD 2ms 60,000:1 monitor with a HDMI port, there's not really any reason people shouldn't be playing on CRT's anymore, unless they want split screen, or a bigger TV.
Bluray is better and faster than DVD for games, and obviously you're able to get HD movies.
I'll rephrase the comment about exclusives: The 360 has very few quality exclusives.

360= better online SUPPORT

PS3= better hardware.

each console has there strengths and weaknesess just get used to it.

Were you being serious about that or was that just "one of those things"? If you were being serious, I think getting a new game system is the least of your worries.

Wait , wait. You havent played fallout 3? Do you not have a 360 either? But yes I would get a PS3 anyway. Games like Killzone and Imfamous are worth more than Halo 3.

Been thinking of doing the same thing except I own a 360 already.

However, the price for a Wii where I was going to trade it in has TANKED. They are currently buying at $50. Heard htey might be offering more in the next month or two but if not I'm going to have to sell it some other way.

I personally am unable to say much about the ps3, as i do not own one.

However, i bought a wii first. And in my opinion the 360 outstrips it in every regard. And i strongly believe the ps3 will do the same.

I would love to do the same thing, get rid of wii and get a ps3. My wife won't let me do it though. She says she loves the wii even though she hasn't played it in months. I guess it will cotinue to collect dust.

Any advice on how I can convince her to get rid of that wii. Or maybe I should stop being such a sissy and tell her who's boss. lol

Slim PS3 has been announced accompanying a quite substantial price cut (depends where you live for how much) so i would wait for that.

If i were you i would wait for a Uncharted 2 or GOW3 bundle with the slim or a 60g( because it has 4 usbs and backards compatability, not that the slim wont but im not sure bout it) , which should be out for christmas,

And dont forget to get mag (256 player online) out jan 2010
