Selling Female Eggs

Ok, so I'm a bit curious about selling (human) female eggs. I've heard that it's legal and you get a load of money for it ($3,000 USD I've heard), which unlike donating sperm, in most states you don't get paid anything for.

But other than that, I know nothing of it. How is it done? Are you actually paid for it? Are the eggs extracted via surgery (which I guess falls under the first question)? Also, has anyone here done it?

Honestly, I don't understand why anybody would want eggs outside of a woman's body.

To eat them of course. I hear they're quite tasty.

Also, I'm pretty sure people do get paid for donating sperm, or else I imagine there would be a lot less people doing it. I can also understand women being paid a lot more for their eggs, since they actually have to have surgery, and the fact that they only have a limited supply, whereas men can produce infinite amounts of sperm.

Yes. You can donate eggs, but its an invasive procedure and serious complications can arise.

well it makes sense that eggs cost (more) money. Man can always make more sperm, and MANY MANY more each day/week/month/year. But men do get paid for sperm. there's a radio ad that plays on the station i listen to (in pa) that offers I think 70 bucks to drain the old lizard, saying why not make money for something you already do for fun? as their big advertising slogan (which I think is hilarious).

Women are born with all the eggs they'll ever have in their lives, and they dont produce more. Thats why every <color=red>. tehy lose an egg and as they get older, they say the clock is ticking (since the eggs can also "expire" in a sense). Now how youw ould got o collect one I would have no idea (being a man), but I cant imagine its pleasant if Im remembering high school anatomy right. Though I imagine it works alot like the concepts of a surrogate mother and a test tube baby combined into one.

Had this explained to me a long time ago.
So, the woman goes to a clinic and gets a bunch of hormones she has to take that royally screw up her body chemistry for months and months, risking her likelihood of being able to get pregnant in the future, not to mention a whole host of other complications, then she goes back to the clinic when a whole bunch of eggs are ripe and they are surgically extracted.

Commence a new round of vomiting.

They are paid a hell of a lot more for it than people get paid for sperm, but a big reason is kind of the same reason people got paid a hell of a lot to do a medical study where they had to sit in bed doing nothing for 3 months. Because it made them sicker than a horse with no legs.

Only if I can decide who gets mine. Frankly, I would gladly give mine to a loving couple where the woman can't have kids but not to dikes or a 50-year old ***** to whom carreer was more important than family, sorry.

Why not lesbians? I doubt if someone's career was that important they wouldn't go through that much effort in order to have a child.

OP: It's all been said before. There're much less eggs in a female body than the infinite amount of sperm produced by males. Also, the process of extracting sperm is, let's say, much less traumatic.

Really quite simple my dear sir. When its that time of the month they just swap a tampon for a test tube and it bleeds into it.

I'm pretty sure they need one that still works, that time of the month is getting rid of a dead one.

There's enough old women who buy a child by whatever means just because they want to add it to their collection of consumable goods. Whenever I read about a grandma-aged woman wanting a child for "self-realisation", the egoism makes me sick. They only think about themselves.
And while I accept the whole LBGT thing as it is, I'm against the idea of them raising children. Sorry, but to me it's sick. People nowadays have the right to everything beyond human decency and reason.

Yeah, and more importantly, why would a lesbian need an egg? Usually sperm is what they'd need to be artificially inseminated. And that might be the most non-chalantly yet hateful thing I've seen this week.

Anyway, I didn't see anyone mention, but it is a surgery and there are some pretty big risks involved, hence that wonderful cash.
