can you like, cook them up? and eat them?
cause i'd be all over that.
3000$ might be a tad steep for tasty eggs though.

I don't think so. Just saying "eggs" typically refers to some sort of animal's eggs that we talk about more commonly, like chicken eggs. Saying "female" rather than some sort of animal puts it out there that we're not talking about an animal, thus making the only logical contender a human female.Thedek said:Female eggs is terribly redundant.
You obviously haven't been paying attention to the research that involves (amongst other things) creating sperm from eggs, creating eggs from adult human stem cells, and several other forms of bizarre biological transformations some researchers are attempting for one reason or another.Kaymish said:i wonder how we get male eggs and what male eggs do???![]()
Indeed. I even did a quick search to see if there are any species where the male produces ovum. There are not.Thedek said:Female eggs is terribly redundant.
Thanks, but to you typing works better than reading. I didn't call homosexuality as such sick. Same-sex parents are. And if you don't tolerate my view on this - that would be so typical for those with a Liberal mindset.SirBryghtside said:...really?celestine said:And while I accept the whole LBGT thing as it is, I'm against the idea of them raising children. Sorry, but to me it's sick. People nowadays have the right to everything beyond human decency and reason.
If you have that opinion, you clearly don't understand anything about homosexuality - as in, there is nothing to understand. They're just normal people who happen to be attracted to the same sex as themselves. Calling that 'sick' and 'wrong' is incredibly offensive.

I guess you follow the idea that you need parents of both genders to succeed. This is simply not the case. All evidence points to the only downside to having your parents be gay/lesbian is that other people direct their homophobia at you.celestine said:Thanks, but to you typing works better than reading. Yeah, I figured that if I just made the topic header 'Selling Eggs', people would think chickens. -_-'Lilani said:I don't think so. It's all about context, my friend.
[sub](Yes, I realize humans are also animals, so lay off that, too. You know what I mean. Again, context.)[/sub]
I'm perfectly willing to "tolerate" your mindset -- goodness knows I hate picking on ignorant little bigots who are too stupid to know better! -- but none of us will ever accept your mindset in politics or reproductive health policies. So if you're okay with being ignored until you and your homophobic brethren become entirely obsolete, then I'm fine with ignoring you. Shouldn't take long; gays and gay parents are gaining more public acceptance ever day.celestine said:Thanks, but to you typing works better than reading. I didn't call homosexuality as such sick. I obviously don't know this lady's circumstances, but if she only has one functioning ovary I believe she should still have a normal amount of time before hitting menopause. Some women alternate which ovary they ovulate from; one month they release an egg from the left ovary, the next they release an egg from the right ovary. So if anything I would guess she might just have months where she is more or less likely to be fertile depending on when her functional ovary is active. And luckily a woman doesn't have to run out of eggs before she hits menopause; the timing is controlled by hormone levels, among other things, more than just how many eggs you have (that's also why girls on the pill won't be forced to wait until they're 90-years-old to hit menopause! ;p)iLikeHippos said:I know little of the procedures - after all, it is highly unlikely the information passes my daily life and chores.
Still, I can think of one lady I know. She was kicked quite hard at a young age, from accident, tragically disabling half of her egg supply.
Her time is more limited than others to be granted a child. I don't know what her thoughts would be of egg transplantations, but there are indeed females out there who do not have an equally functioning ovary system. They may be interested, or even blessed, in the knowledge of there being donators.
Those damn liberals! always tryin' to have opinions about stuff, makes me SICK. bein' all... liberal-y.celestine said:Thanks, but to you typing works better than reading. The More You Kno~ow...!
You call me "ignorant little bigot" because my opinion differs from you, and under the same breath preach tolerance? Hypocrisy Central, dude. And sorry to disappoint, but I prefer men who know what being a man is, and that can't come from little boys educated only by women. Even if their parents are biologically males, since they do everything not to be one.Evidencebased said:I'm perfectly willing to "tolerate" your mindset -- goodness knows I hate picking on ignorant little bigots who are too stupid to know better! -- but none of us will ever accept your mindset in politics or reproductive health policies. Incidentally, there's a property of hypocrasy and intolerance that states that pointing out that somebody is an ignorant, intolerant ass is neither intolerance nor hypocrasy.
Women start out with 300 000 eggs, which is more than enough!b3nn3tt said:http://www.donoregginfo.com/html/recipients/process.html#retrieving-eggs
There you go, that explains it all pretty well.
Also, I'm pretty sure people do get paid for donating sperm, or else I imagine there would be a lot less people doing it. I can also understand women being paid a lot more for their eggs, since they actually have to have surgery, and the fact that they only have a limited supply, whereas men can produce infinite amounts of sperm.
