Well, what are some overlooked or underrated sequels?

I have to say that COD 2: Big Red One is the most overlooked in the series, which is a shame becuase it's one of the best in the series. In fact I'd place it as the second best in the series (behind Modern Warfare)

Mario Sunshine is also a criminally underrated entry in the Mario series. Is it groundbreaking or stunning? No. Is it a fun and enjoyable platformer with a few new ideas? Yes.

Halloween 5 gets a lot of crap too. No it's not great, but it's a hell of a lot better than Halloween 6.

In the ender's game series, the overlooked book is Speaker for the Dead. Liked it a lot, I felt more attached to the characters than I did in the first, but the first had a better plot twist. Xenocide sucks though..

Bioshock 2. I'm not sure why it's hated so much. It's story is more emotional in my opinion (though it doesn't have the same 'oomph' that Bioshock 1 did) and still a lot of fun.

i will have to agree. Bioshock 1 was fantastic, but the gameplay wasnt revolutionary. Bioshock 2 improved on the gameplay AND it had in my opinion a better story than the original. plus, you WERE A FUCKING BIG DADDY!

Can't speak to games, but I honestly found Cinderella III: A Twist In Time to be pretty awesome. Cindy's actually pretty badass, and The Prince kicks some ass too. I didn't even know this movie existed until recently. It's easily my favourite Disney sequel.

Don't watch Cinderella II, though. That's just a travesty.

It was alot of fun, but it was marred with the Big Sister showing up on script even if you treated the Lil Sisters nicely as well as an unfortunate achievement and sense of being overpowered.

You think something should be given more attention because it has a number after the title?

I'll stick to good games deserving attention, regardless of their entry into order.
I'm pretty sure he just wants to know game sequels that deserved more recognition or love because it was better, unique or whatever. You don't have to rip him apart.

He never says that the reason for the 'love' is because of the placement in the series.

Regardless of whether or not there have been thousands of these threads or he thinks that way, I feel that...ummm... you know what, I don't know many game sequels that I feel should have more love. All the 2's and 3's or more all got lots of love and rightly deserved. Others didn't because it SUCKED!

Oh sure, it had its problems. But I've seen posts on here calling it trash and a disgrace, saying "it never existed" to them or something, and other ridiculous things. They were treating it like was the biggest travesty to ever grace the Earth. It's fine that they didn't like it as much, but I didn't think it was bad as a lot of people said it was.

I didn't really get into the story as much as I did in the first game. However, Bioshock 2 had the Minerva's Den DLC, which I thought was better than the first two games combined in terms of story.

Speaking of Halloween, I'm going to say Halloween 3. I hated the movie the first time I watched it, but I admit that was because I was expecting Michael Myers; putting that expectation aside, it was a very well put together horror movie. As for games, I'm gonna have to go with Secret of Evermore; though not a true sequel to the Mana series, I do think it was much better than people give it credit for.

Deus Ex Invisible War is almost universally hated, but it's really not that bad.
Sure it doesn't deserve to have "Deus Ex" on it, but on it's own it's still fairly enjoyable.

First sex effect.

Remember your first girlfriend/boyfriend you had sex with? Almost perfectly.
Remember your second? Well.....kinda.

Certainly the second was just as fun, and there were improvements, but it doesn't have that lasting appeal or sentimental value that you have with your first.

Yeah, I'm not implying that a sequel deserves repspect just because it's a sequel, I'm talking about sequels that have been overlooked. Next time read the fucking post...
