On games, the 2nd & 3rd Monkey Island games. Really wish those games would make a come back, along with Grim Fandango, Day Of The Tentacle et al. Sorry, rambling :"(

Hmm I'd have to say Gremlins 2. It improved so much on the original and was brimming with potential.

Gaming wise? Worms world Party (Worms will ALWAYS be a 2d game in my heart), Ratchet and Clank 2, Silent Hill 2.

I almost mentioned God of War 2 but it was a bit too samey for my liking.

The Dark Knight.

The Back to the Future Trilogy as a whole... one of the few movies franchises that the sequals were just as good or better then the original, and tied everything up at the end.

Lord of the Rings. Like BTTF, but since it was a book before, it's less impressive then it being originally thought of and made into a movie.

Terminator 2. The first one is good, but T2 had more action, better dialogue and explained the story abit better.

Fallout 3. Freaking Awesome!

Half-Life 2. Duh...

Call of Duty 4.

The Matrix Trilogy just makes me sad... Reloaded and Revolutions weren't "horrible" but they could have been so so so so much better.... It's like the creators watched WAY to much anime but didn't grasp any of it.

Batman Returns, yo.
Please, dear God tell me that was a joke... Tim Burton should have to pay for doing what he did to Batman... not as bad as what Joel Schumacher did, but if he had something quailty to work from, it might not have went down hill as fast!

Batman and Batman Returns were slow, boring, used cheap effects that don't hold the test of time, WAY to dark (not in tone, the lighting..), the acting was TERRIBLE aside from some Danny Devito, and the old guy that played Alfred.

Bad Tim Burton....Bad!

What about books? I think most of Terry Pratchett's later work in the Discworld series is far better than his earliest stuff. In my opinion the series doesn't really start to pick up until Equal Rites. (Then again, Granny Weatherwax is one of my favorite characters by far.)
True enough, I hated the colour of magic and light fantastic. They wern't really storys, just wierd events happening one after another. THat being said, Mort is still my faviourt Discworld, and its about the 4th one he wrote. He has got very good since he started writing childrens books, Nation is great.

I actually liked one of his most recent ones, Monstrous Regiment.

Oh and Call of Duty 4 and The Dark Knight stand out as sequels that improved over the original.

Paper Mario 2: The Thousand Year Door. All the improvements you could want, except for the scary forest which was scary. :/

System Shock 2, Soul Calibur III, Evil Ded 2, Tekken 3, Kingdom Hearts 2 and Fallout 2.

Maybe there are others but I can't remember.

Chasing Amy improved on Mallrats which improved on Clerks.

Dogma / Jay & Silent Bob Strike are on an equal footing from there.

[Edit]
Also, Ghostbusters 2 and police academy 2 were a little better than the firsts.

I can only think of Terminator 2
I 100% disagree, the T-1000 was awesome and all but the first was just done better! I'm not saying it is worse but it is definitely not better because basically it's a completely different movie to me.

The first was like an actual war zone while the second felt more like a road trip!

This goes for the Alien and LOTR movies as well, I preferred watching the originals more.

Back to the topic, I would say the second POTC because it was more epic. Also the later movies of Harry Potter are alot more interesting as well. And I preferred Scary Movie 2 and 3 over 1.
