Since everyone so curious, I'll just post it up for everyone to see, shall I?
Yes, the discovery was a series of mistakes. Here it is:
1st mistake: I thought there were more Canadians in this thread.
2nd mistake: I had pegged CA as the killer at first, because his last post was closest to the first announcement. I THOUGHT he was Canadian.
3rd mistake: I asked if the killer was indeed Canadian BEFORE checking if he was indeed Canadian. So yeah, when Neo announced that the killer was Canadian, I double checked on everyone's profiles. Imagine my shock and surprise.
4th mistake: I checked the last posts element and Void made (yes, the was the most extensive part of my spy work). I assumed it was Void because his last posts were closest to Neo's announcement. Element on the other hand, did not even post that day.
Why didn't I wait to use my second question?
Since there was only two Canadians, there were only three ways this could've played out:
1) I wait to ask the next question - someone dies before the killer is caught
2) I make the wrong choice - someone dies before the killer is caught
3) I make the right choice - killer is caught before someone dies
In this light, there really only were two choices; stay silent, or blow the whistle and hope I'm right. Makes more sense to blow the whistle.
I didn't need to ask two more questions after I learned the killer's nationality. There were only two Canadians. I needed only one. And I asked it after Void was lynched: Is element the serial killer?
