@Emurlahn: Seeing that I've no idea what you guys are doing, yet have a burning desire to join in, I thought a canned killer whale was pretty special. *Sulk*

@CA Yeah, I see your problem there. I like the idea of creating localized lands on the battlefield like you said. As for what happens after... Well, I think it would be kinda cool if they just stayed that way unless the planeswalker decided to change it back to show how their battles are shaping the plane. I think it would also make sense if a black based planeswalker were fighting in a swamp, that they would get a slight mana bonus as sort of a home court advantage.

Yeah, the Titans definitely shouldn't be allowed. That just seems unfair. But then, maybe legendary creatures in general just shouldn't be allowed. I mean, a plansewalker could just pull Rafiq of the Many off of his plane and into their own, but Rafiq being a man with his own morals and motivations and whatnot, would he really just fight for you no questions asked? Seems a little odd. Although, it could be kinda cool if we could choose someone from our home plane as a sort of ally or traveling companion. Just a random thought though.

Ah, yeah I saw that announcement. And apparently an Unhinged card will be in the set among other things... Should be interesting. I'm surprised they're already making another Garruk. Oh and in the current standard block, black red vampires is already a powerful aggro deck so that makes sense. I hear Innistrad will have a dual color tribal theme.

@Schizzy: You've never played Pokémon? Cause that is practically what we're doing.
Try using a water-based attack. ;)

@CA & Fragrance: About the planeswalkers. You could make a rule that all you can only use cards that could realistically come from your plane. Or cards of the same "type" as yourself. So if you have a zombie planeswalker you use zombies, and if you have a vedalken planeswalker you use artifacts and sphinxes, and so on.

And I think it would be practical to have some limitations to how many colours you can use. You might have discussed it, but I haven't noticed it at least.

@Emu: So abilities can fluctuate depending on who you're fighting? Does that mean you're a Ditto? o_O

Also...

*pulls out proton pack and ghost trap*

@Emurlahn I could have sworn Ground had a resistance to Fire, that's why I said Eruption wasn't effective.
*...It's super effective?*

Omega fainted. Emurlahn gets 9001 Pokedollars. But this will do him no good... y'know, 'cause he's dead. *Will Respawn after the Victim posts their death*

@Omega: Yeah, it does, but combined with Electricity the resistance is negated, so it does normal damage. Check out the only existing Ground/Electric pokémon [http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Stunfisk_%28Pok%C3%A9mon%29] for reference. (It's a fish, because that makes sense.. =P)

@Neo: Be my guest, I don't need it. As long as I get away from that! *points at Link with ghost-trapping device, then proceeds to, you guessed it, run*

@Emu: *engages proton pack and laughs manically*

Run Mr. Ghost. Run like your afterlife depends on it!

*proceeds to destroy a nearby library in a sufficiently destructive manner with a destructive beam of destroyiness*

Hmm...maybe I need to dial back the power a little bit. Someone might get hurt at these energy levels.

Wait, what am I saying? MUST CATCH THE GHOST!

*cranks power to full and takes aim*

@Emu: Curses, he got away. For now.

I swear to you, I'll get you one of these days! Even if it requires me to follow you through the afterlife into the JIB! I WILL PURSUE YOU EVEN UNTO MY DEATH!!

@Omega: Ah, my oldest enemy has resurfaced.

DIE DOG!

*blasts Omega with fully charged proton pack*

A legendary creature is drawn from the Aether like any other, except that instead of drawing the creature's characteristics from a group, the legendary creature is based on a specific individual. They're still totally under the planeswalker's control, of course.

... At least, that's what the MtG Salvation wiki says. That site will play a large part in the RP.

I will allow legendary creatures in spell lists as long as they aren't too powerful. Also, very little from New Phyrexia will be permitted (no infect, proliferate, living weapon, the five Praetors and their followers, etc), but as long as a good reason is provided I will allow some things from that set.

Oh, and I do like the idea of 'home field advantage'. It suits the world I created for the RP.

Three is the maximum number of colours I'll allow, and that's pushing it. I won't take many people with three colours at their disposal.

And the thing about taking spells that originate from the planeswalker's 'home plane' is that by their nature planeswalkers visit many places and get used to many different ways of life. Take, for example, a character who grew up in the guild-dominant city-plane of Ravnica, but then visited Esper, a shard of Alara, before the Conflux. They would be able to draw on a fair amount of their spells from their home plane, but also a few from Esper, such as Tidehollow Strix or Etherium Sculptor. And then once they start getting into other places like Mirrodin or Zendikar, that provides even more choice to pick from.

I will, however, take into account the idea of planeswalkers choosing spells similar to their 'type'. Like, as you said, a vedalken could use a vedalken-themed list - probably blue or blue/white - but it really depends on where they're from. A Mirran vedalken would have a fair few artifact spells available.

But on the matter of types, I don't really want to restrict the characters too much, so I will allow a bit of leeway but nothing too extreme. I mean, you won't see an angel planeswalker using too many black-red hybrids like Avatar of Discord or Dread Slag. Also, no zombies. Largely because I hate them, but also because the planeswalker's spark only occurs in sentient races, and I doubt that zombies are sentient. Or independent, take your pick.
