Really, the main reason why I hate Kanye West is the same as why I hate mainstream rap in general.

Too mainstream.
Okay. Here's a rundown of my reactions as I heard this song for the first time:
Huh. This isn't half bad. In fact, I really like how this is produced. It has a distinctive sound with the piano and it's backed up by a really good beat. Hell, it has a nice chorus, too. It seems to be much more RnB than rap, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. It's not perfect but it sounds like Kanye has really matured with his lyrics and how he-
"I sent this ***** a picture of my dick..."
Oh god damn it!
At that point I got pissed off at the song and turned it off, but then realized that I had to be fair about this if I was going to be mature about it. So I found a non Vevo version with it uncensored and continued from where I left off.
Okay, continuing form that line, it's actually how much he's been an ass to women. Okay, I'll bite. However, the delivery is very "meh," sort of devoid of emotion, unlike his voice in the chorus.
The second verse is also kinda crappy, but I assume that this is Pusha T's part. I'll just say putting "Ha ha ha" is a lazy placeholder for your lyrics, Mr T... Or... uh... You get what I mean.
And we end with an auto tuned voice guitar solo. I'll have to give Mr West credit, again, this is quite clever. Even if it goes on a little longer than it should...
Okay, that was... okay. Honestly, the only thing to me that brought that song down was... well, Kanye. Like I said, I think Kanye is a damn good producer. The music behind the rap was fantastic and beautiful. I still just don't think he's a good rapper. His presentation is dry and lacks any real gravitas whenever he raps. When he sings, it really seems like he's giving it his all, whereas the rap, it's like it's a chore.
A friend of mine worked at his local newspaper for a while and had to review the album that this song was on. He said the same thing. For all of the songs. Kanye is a damn good producer. He's just not that good of a rapper.
Which is where I find my anger with other mainstream rappers. They're in this mentality that they're already big and famous and that there's no excuse to try anymore.
@Malyc: Shit... well, at least you're alive to tell the tale.
@Red: Interesting alter ego choice. May I ask...
Y?
@Nouw: NUMBERS BEYOND WHAT YOU CAN DIAL! MAYBE'S BECAUSE I'M SO VERSATILE!
