I love Bill Maher's comedy. I don't agree with some of his political stances but I can admit that he is absolutely hilarious.

Basically he's irreverant and takes the piss out of the right wing, so the more more right-leaning people don't tend to like him while left-leaning people laugh their asses off.

@RaN That's his schtick. He talks about politics and religion and makes comedy out of it- typically out of the more right-wing/fundamentalist attitudes. It's just like how Russell Peters makes jokes about racial divides, or how Greg Geraldo would act like a sarcastic asshole in his routine.
