@CA: I know what you mean. All my friends have all these fancy cards, acquired from the splurge someone does when starting a new hobby, and all I have is a basic white/green deck made from those 30-card sets. I will eventually get there, and I'm sure you will too!

@Nouw: I've been playing since the original Ravnica block, back in 2005. My biggest issue is that I don't want to drop that much money on a single card. So I build whatever I like on Cockatrice, essentially online Magic for free.

@CA: It's the biggest trading card game and I'm surprised there's a thing like that. Awesome. And yeah, I can understand not wanting to pay so much for only one card considering you could buy entire packs of cards with the same amount. I'm not really keen either.

@Nouw: Indeed. The best cards in a set are often the rarest, due to their unique or semi-unique rules. And of course, the elusive planeswalker cards... mythic among mythics since only five 'walkers are released per block. I have yet to open a booster pack that contains a planeswalker, though I've opened a fair few mythics... even some foil rares.

@CA: Nice, nice. I do want to buy a booster some time, the excitement of getting new cards is something I've missed after quitting Duel Masters. Hey, no judging :p.

I could feel cold hands push me up the wouldn't steps onto the platform, where my life would end. I couldn't see through the burlap sack on my head, but I could hear the crowd of villagers cheering as I climbed the steps.
These people used to be my friends. What have I done to deserve this?
I could barely breathe and the sack certainly wasn't helping. When I reached the top, I was stopped and the sack was ripped from my head. I let out a gasp of ear and squinted as the cheering became almost deafening. I saw the chopping block and felt my heart beats pick up speed. I was panicking. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't scared. These people wanted to punish someone for the murders and they thought it was me. Well, at least they'll feel like idiots when the murders continue. I hope they do. I hope all these bastards are killed by that psycho. Fuck them.

I was pushed again, towards the chopping block. It was sudden and I fell to one knee. I was yanked back up into standing by the man behind me and shoved again towards the block. I stood straight this time, but I still felt unbalanced due to my panic. I walked to the block and knelt down before it, excepting my fate. Before the executioner had a chance to force my head into position, I did it myself. I heard a chuckle behind me and was suddenly infuriated. I kept myself under control though and waited for the end. I glanced down into the basket that would soon be carrying my head and sighed. I was ready. I shifted my head slightly so I could see above me, then I heard the sound of metal being dragged along the wooden platform, followed by a grunt and then the sound stopped. I looked above my head and saw the axe blade rushing towards my neck, whistling through the air.

And that was the end of me.

So I hope that's ok, but being new to this I have no idea what I'm doing really.

@CA: haha oops. Just a turn of phrase, since witches are usually thought of as female. Although up till that point I had been trying my hardest to avoid using she, guess I slipped up.

Ha! My profile has been set to male for ages.

Besides, everyone knows witches are always referred to as female, even when they aren't biologically.

@Sky: I was actually bored enough to check that you set it to nothing. What are you trying to tell us?!

Also, people seem to curiously forget about warlocks, essentially the male equivalent. :p
