April, 2013. The Wilson experiments. You may have seen it in the news. The U.S. government accepted sixteen volunteers to prototype Doctor Andrew Wilson's new system of underground sustained living. It was supposed to be humanity's saving grace, a shelter in the event some natural disaster wiped all life from the face of the Earth. For one year, the volunteers would be isolated in the Illinois mountains, subjected to operations that would enhance their endurance and cognitive ability. Total isolation was mandatory to the experiment's success. Their only contact with the outside world would be through two-way radio with a way station at the base of the mountain range.
April 14. Contact was lost with the facility.
April 16. Following two days of radio silence, the government filed a cease and desist order. The facility was opened. An FBI team discovered fifteen of the subjects dead. The last was never found. Dr. Wilson's work was discredited, and he was sentenced to life imprisonment in Terre Haut.
April, 2022. The United States announced a second experiment modifying Wilson's guidelines. Sixteen volunteers entered the Black Mountain facility.
April 23. Contact was lost with the facility.

If you have received this attachment, you have been selected to take part in one of several unique experiments. These experiments shall test your unique capabilities, and will be designated by seven "roles":
The Killer, the Medic, the Agent, the Arbiter, the Entwined, the First Citizen, and the Cure.
The Killer, the Medic, the Agent, the Arbiter, the Entwined, the First Citizen, and the Cure.
The Killer:
The Killer is the primary focus of the game. The killer sends the GM who they wish to kill at the beginning of each cycle. He or she may vote in executions, can be 'saved' by the Medic, and can die in an execution if they are chosen by vote. Eliminating the killer, by execution or Arbiter, ends the round.
The Killer's number is the one closest to my own.

The Medic:
The Medic has the power to save players from the killer. The Medic has a certain number of saves depending on the number of players still alive.
- At 25 players or more, the Medic may save five people.
- 20-24 people gives the Medic four saves.
- 15-19 players: three saves.
- 10-14 players remaining grants the Medic two attempts.
- With less than ten players, the Medic can pick just one.
The Medic chooses who they wish to save by PMing the appropriate usernames to the GM. The Medic cannot save the same person twice or more in a row, regardless of how many saves they have.
If the Medic saves the killer's target, then they live to vote another day. The killer, however, is free to stalk another victim, regardless of whether they are on the Medic's list. The Medic cannot protect themselves.
The player with the number furthest from my own becomes the Medic.

The Spy:
The Agent is allowed to ask the GM up to three "yes or no" questions throughout the course of the game, to attempt to determine the killer's identity. I will answer them to the best of my ability. The Agent may only ask one question at a time, though, and can only ask questions every other cycle; for example, if the Spy were to ask a question in the first cycle, they are not allowed to ask another question in the second. This allows the killer some breathing room to at least rack up a few kills.
The Agent is also limited to one question in regards to the Killer's username as it has been deemed too easy to identify the Killer's identity by asking questions only about their username. Other things such as avatars, country of origin, Twitter accounts, et cetera, are fair game.
The Agent is free to distribute their information however they wish, be it in full view of the public, in private or otherwise until they are murdered or executed.
IMPORTANT!
Upon the GM messaging the Agent that they have been murdered or executed, the Agent may no longer inform any players of the questions asked and their answers or their list of potential suspects. This also applies to the Agent's death-post. If you are caught conveying information postmortem, you may be banned from participating in future games.
Whoever picks the number second-closest to my own becomes the Agent.

The Arbiter:
The Arbiter has the power to instantly execute one other player, without the need for a vote or intervention on any other player's behalf or that of the GM. Should the Arbiter do so, both the Arbiter and their target are killed to maintain the balance of the game and thus allow the killer to continue should he not be executed.
The Arbiter may perform their execution at any time of their choosing, without the need for a vote from the others. They should, however, notify the GM when they execute someone; if this doesn't happen then the GM, and by extension the other players, is out of the loop in regards to the Arbiter's execution. In order to maintain fairness to the killer, the Arbiter has restrictions on the use of their power. The Arbiter can use their power up until the point where the Agent has asked their third question to the GM. The Arbiter will have 5 rounds to decide their kill, or less if the Agent acts faster than the Arbiter.
The role of Arbiter is given to the player who's number is second furthest away from the GM's number.

The Entwined:
The two Entwined are linked by a special invisible bond... and the strength of their connection is only known when one of the two dies. When one of the Entwined dies, the other takes their own life. This role goes to the first players that choose identical numbers, or failing that, the first players that choose consecutive numbers. Neither of the Entwined can have a second role.
If there are no consecutive or identical guesses, those who guess the two numbers that are closest together become the Entwined. The two Entwined are aware of each others existence, though no-one else is.

The Double Voter:
The First Citizen ensures the safety and protection of the science team. As representative of the public will, he or she will have two votes instead of one. The First Citizen can vote for two different people or put both votes towards one person: The choice is yours. The double vote is for every cycle, not just one. This role's number is decided by a random dice roll, after all the other roles have been determined.

The Priest:
The Cure holds a secret in their own blood, one which could kill viruses, or create the ultimate soldier. The Cure may sacrifice themselves to resurrect someone who died in a previous cycle. When someone is resurrected, everyone in the round becomes aware of any role that the resurrected player may have.
A resurrected Arbiter cannot use their ability if they have already used it: it dies with them. If they have not used their power, however, and the conditions for its use are still acceptable (i.e. within the first five cycles of the game, the Agent has not asked all three of their questions) then they are free to execute a target.
The Cure's role is determined by calculating the average of the guessed numbers, not including that of the GM. The number closest to the average becomes the Cure.

Hello there. This is my first time hosting the game, but certainly not my first time playing. This won't be as serious as Skye's game; we won't be using character sheets or anything of the sort. But I promise this one will be full of surprises.
Similar to the party game of Murderer or Mafia, the objective is to find the killer and execute him or her to prevent them from continuing their murderous rampage. The game ends either when the killer is executed, or he or she has killed off everyone else.
Part 1 - Determining the Killer:
As in every round of this game, the killer among you is determined through random chance. Each participant will send me a PM with a number between 1 and 100. That includes any number, even eleven and a half. Whoever is closest to my chosen number "wins". In the event of a tie... I dunno, I guess I'll flip a coin or something.
I will not give you a role by asking for it. You may not beg on the forums or pester me through PMs. Your cries for attention will only fuel my godlike aspirations, and continuing to make a fuss may bar you from participating in future games.
Every cycle, the killer will assassinate his or her chosen victim. Since we're trying to be a serious role-playing game here, you are obligated to depict your own deaths, with correct spelling and grammar, detailing every gruesome detail. How you choose to die is completely up to you. Just don't make it repulsive or demeaning toward other players.
Deaths should be limited to one post and put in spoilers. Make it clear that you have been killed.
Part 2 - Execution:
After the victim's death has been announced, everyone still standing must vote for a suspect.
IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ!
SK has a strictly enforced time limit. You have 48 HOURS to cast your votes, else they shall be void. If I do not receive 4/5ths participation by the end of 48 hours, the killer will be spared and one of you slackers will be killed off instead.
When the votes are tallied, I will PM the person with the highest number of votes. They will write and post their execution. Make it clear that you have been executed.
Part 3 - It Keeps Happening:
Once the execution has taken place, the next cycle starts and the killer will choose their next target. The process repeats until each player is slain or the killer is executed.
TL;DR:
When the Killer has chosen their victim, they will PM their choice to the GM. I will then relay that message to the victim. Deceased players (murdered or executed) have 48 hours to post their death or recruit someone else to write it.
Once that's done, the players vote for who they believe the killer is. The person with the highest number of votes gets the axe, so to speak. We keep playing until the killer dies or everyone else dies.
You may announce your death if you cannot meet the deadline. Just be courteous.
