@Scars: I agree with your thought that the Trickster is unaligned this round. During last cycle's voting it was the first time everyone pretty much publicly said who's getting everyone's vote (Dr. Crawver). Seems like the Trickster has his own motives, because it appears he didn't use his role to either add or subtract a vote from Dr. Crawver, meaning he either used it on other players or not at all. (Unlikely he didn't use it at all, because at this stage in the game his role is very valuable).

Actually sorry that was my fault... I wasn't quite awake this morning. The Trickster did use their ability.

Had nothing solid to go off. None of us did. To try and pretend otherwise would be pretentious. We lost all ability to have a decent chance scouting out the killer long ago. I saw no point trying to pretend otherwise.

And I had fun with my run. Last third is alright, I'm happy with it for my first game.

But that's the thing, just because you have nothing solid to go off of doesn't really mean anything. There's games played where there are no power roles whatsoever. Sometimes, vague suspicions are all you've got to go on. People far too often get too caught up in the power roles and expect them to just carry the game for everyone else. That's not how it's supposed to work. Power roles are a fun little advantage that may turn up nothing or may save the day, but good power roles won't reveal themselves even after they found scum, they will do what everyone else is supposed to do: voice suspicions, make arguments, and force people to defend themselves, hoping they slip up and people are convinced they're scum and vote for them.

Casting suspicions and people defending against those accusations are the bread and butter of these games. It's the majority of the fun and the skill of them. But it doesn't work if no one accuses and the accused don't defend. It doesn't matter if you have anything solid to go off of, because even with power roles in play, you still rarely do have anything solid to go off of and waiting around until you do may well ensure that you lose. What matters is people talk, reason and argue and convince and persuade and lie and manipulate and everyone has a good time doing it.

Eh, a huge part of these games is seeing peoples reactions, body language, mannerisms etc. Without that part, another huge part of the hunting process is neutered, as well as being able to see how quickly people react (thinking time and all that). Without that we have so little to go on anyway. So while I do get what you're saying, I am going to have to disagree simply due to the medium.

Not to say I've not been enjoying this it's been great fun, but simply because it's in the background for everyone (I mean we're all doing things, then sometime come back to this one), we do need the power roles to stand a chance.

This is a journal found in the ships air conditioning after ship personnel reported smoke and strange sounds coming from the vents.

Day 1: It was a tight squeeze, but I'm in!

Day 2: Pretty sure somebody died. I wasn't able to hear anything specific, but the general tone seems a bit panicked. I think I made the right choice. People go crazy in situations like these.

Day 3: Somebody was airlocked. The yelling and commotion startled me awake in the middle of the night. Couldn't get back to sleep, paranoid they might have heard me in the vents so I started writing again.

Day 4: It is cold in here.

Day 5: People are talking of one guy getting killed, and then another guy just, like, exploding at the exact same time. Nobody's asking where I am. :c

Day 6: ...I might have dropped a coke can onto one of the vent grates. I don't think anyone noticed, but god, it scared the life out of me.

Oh, and gritch got airlocked.

Day 7: Every so often I have to return to my quarters to use the bathroom. There's a vent exit above one of the toilets in the cafeteria bathrooms, but I don't trust my aim.

Day 8: Some good news! They got the Cylon's accomplice. Some bad news, my chocolate melted.

Day 9: People are complaining about funny smells coming from the vents. Sorry guys, but showering is too much of a risk!

Day 10: I've hit the halfway point on supplies. I had intended they last me about forty days, but I have a midnight snack problem.

Day 11: There's a lot less voices in the corridors nowadays. It's hard to keep up with current events with everyone hiding in their quarters.

Day 12: Another day, another ten-second drone in the vents from somebody getting airlocked.

Day 13: I need to go really bad, but there's somebody in my quarters...maybe I'll risk the cafeteria loo.

Day 14: Somebody came in while I was pissing through the vent. I think I've been rumbled.

A body was also found. DNA matches the man reported missing the 3rd day after the Cylon was reported on board the ship. Records show a fire alarm sounded before being silenced a few seconds later the 17th day after the Cylon was reported. Cause of death: Smoke inhalation.

As for how I know the other two are not? Simple(and I'm kind of annoyed at myself for not realizing sooner): The Trickster cannot target himself with his ability. Both Aerosteam and Pseudonym have been. So they cannot be the Trickster.
