Have you ever played the game Mafia? How about Werewolf? Murderer?? If you answered "Yes" and/or "No" to any of those questions, then it doesn't matter because everyone has a chance to play Serial Killer, the forum role-playing game where no matter if you kill or not, you always have to vote until you die... The Killer from the previous Round is always the current Round's Game Master (or GM) unless announced otherwise and all newcomers big and small are recommended to join the <url=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/Serial-Killer>Serial Killer usergroup for updates before, after, and during each Round... The game, itself, is so simple that I can be summed up in just 39 steps!
Step 1: Enter via GM PM [PM the GM] and/or invitation...
Step 2: Get a Role afterwards... Maybe...
Step 3: Wait, Kill, and/or use Role... if possible...
Step 4: Vote and/or use Role... if possible...
Step 5: Live, Die, and/or Repeat from Step 3...
...
Step 38: The game ends!
Step 39: Proceed to Step 1 for the next Round... if you want to...

Each cycle should take no more than 5 days to complete, which include death (or deaths), voting, and execution... Time is rarely extended past 48 hours during the first and second half of any cycle; however, since the game generally moves forward by one-half The Killer and one-half a 50+% voting turn-over, an extra 24 hours could be established via GM announcement... Any specific deaths not announced via the dead player and/or their Death Post within 48 hours will be announced via a GM announcement to continue the Round as scheduled...
If a player dies for the first time [in forever], then they are given one Death Post to use or not use within the current Round... All Death Posts can be typed, drawn, painted, shopped, singed/rapped, any combination of the above, and/or any creative endeavors by the now-dead player as well as done by another player with prior knowledge given to the current GM beforehand... If they're a minimum of 3-5 visible/eligible Death Posts, then they're eligible to win a Death Award at the end of the Round...
During a specific Round's Death Awards, players of said Round as well as members of the <url=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/Serial-Killer>Serial Killer usergroup and innocent [forum] bystanders can vote for their favorite Death Posts... The top 3 most voted Death Posts will get third, second, and first place awards respectively and, if there were more than 3 Death Posts to vote from, then the GM can select a single Death Post that'll get the "GM's Choice" award respectively...

Any Round of Serial Killer must have a minimum of 20 players before the game can begin... If the Round exceeds pass 30 players before beginning, then the possibility of more than one player with the Killer Role can be implemented alongside increasing the duration of both the Medic Role and Entwined Role respectively...
Any player can leave the Round at any give time as long as they notify the GM beforehand... Any Role that player had would be given to another living player without a Role at random... Even though this transaction will never count as an actual death, execution, or an eligible Death Post candidate, it could activate the Entwined Role if it hasn't been activated yet...
All living players must vote during each second half of each cycle... Any player that fails to vote during three of those voting moments will be kicked out of the Round with their assigned Role, if they have one, given to another living player without a Role at random...
Any player can notify the GM regarding any particular side they wish to be on during the Round, which includes switching sides mid-Round... Those that don't notify the GM about their preferred side will be labeled as "Independent" by the GM, which can be used to dispute any potential betrayals and/or crosses when the time comes... However, any player with The Killer, The Medic, The Spy, or The Lawyer role cannot switch sides at any given point in time...
Any living players can relay or alter "falsified" Intel the same way they can relay or alter "truthified" Intel, which can include text, screenshots, and/or recordings... However, dead players can't relay or alter any new Intel that has not already been made public within the Round's initial thread...
Any further questions can be asked through a GM PM alongside clearance for potential plans that may or may not be within the rules or the spirit of the game itself... Fun is subjective, but it should never come at a cost of someone and/or the Round itself...
