...I am super confused, did the spy get assassinated or did he drop out and get replaced? I thought it was the latter, and that we were still in the assassination phase...
Anyway, I guess I don't die in the night this cycle. Everybody has gotten my PM. I stand by it. Gritch is the lawyer, unless he's mad trolling. Vote for him or vote for me, but if you decide the latter get him next after you see I'm just a peon.
As for the second PM, I guess it's not a bad place to start if the spy didn't get to anybody after all, but since it wasn't the assassination cycle like I thought then SK didn't have to be online to assassinate me, so the list has shaky legs.
Edit: I wasn't sure if I should include this, because I'm sure that trusting in what I'm saying is a big enough pill to swallow, and it involves throwing a guy who's been a pretty affable buddy most of this game under the bus... but of all the players in the game, Jumbo Palace is the only one I know for sure who has been in communication with Grinch, besides me. He was online while Grinch spoke to me tonight, and when I sent him that first PM he got back to me and told me that Grinch had made him the same offer. I find that incredibly suspicious: what Grinch asked of me was hugely ambitious and risky. I am a new player, and he had to know that he couldn't have the full measure of my temperament. If I decided to turn him down, than I would doom him. It is true that with all the spy questions asked, he and SK'd have their back to the wall (although, I don't think he's interpreting the rule about when spies can ask questions correctly), and were therefore desperate, but would he really compound that risk by forwarding the same offer to another player, especially without knowing my response yet?
Jumbo also tried to gain my trust by spinning a story about how Shoggoth had approached him shortly before his assassination to warn Jumbo about Grinch... only to die before Jumbo had a chance to get to his PC and read the message. Yet, we had an agreement to share the spy list, and in the hours he had, and as of up to now, he has not shared that list with me. Would the spy go to him for help and *not* give him the list? How could he have helped the spy anyway, if he had no role as he'd previously told me? I suppose he could be the medic, but how would Shoggoth have figured that out? How did Shoggoth get a chance to ask for Jumbo's help before he was notified of his assassination? I think it's most likely that Jumbo was attempting to pacify me, make sure that, as one who knew of a direct link between himself and Grinch, that I didn't attempt to cast suspicion on him.
Granted, I could have been on the spy list, which is why he hasn't mentioned it to me. But if I were on the list, I don't know why he'd reveal that he'd had contact with the spy. After all, I could've been the SK testing his loyalty or some such. If I were listed as a suspect, I don't see why he'd respond to my PMs tonight at all.
Furthermore, I'm the one who blew the whistle on this deal. If Jumbo hasn't PMed anyone about this by *checks clock* 1:01 AM Central Time, then he hasn't tried to. That, I think, would speak volumes.
...To bring it back, my paranoia is dialed to 11 and my death is assured. Emotions are high... well, high-ish. My best judgement isn't on the table, and I could be jumping at shadows. But that is the name of the game. My pick for SK right now is Jumbo. Hang me, see I'm innocent, decide what you'll do with my judgement call.
