Series they should just end

Metroid Prime 3 was said to be the last in the trilogy. What with it being a trilogy and all. I don't know where they may take Samus next, but there will not be another Prime game. As far as series goes, however, Metroid has been primarily successful in all released. Since Prime is no longer in continuation, who knows? Maybe the next trilogy of Metroid games - if there is one - will be different and people may like the new direction.

Yeah, funny thing, what with Prime Hunters and Prime Pinball.

But the Prime trilogy aren't the latest in the Metroid Chronology anyway. It goes Metroid, Prime trilogy, Metroid 2, Super, Fusion. The Metroid series is pretty unique amongst Nintendo series for having a proper timeline that mostly all fits together. The next Metroid game will almost definitely be related to the events in Fusion, and I think they should end it with that one.

Of course, we all know that they're not going to let Samus retire, what with this being Nintendo and all.

Mario, Sonic, Zelda and resident evil. They have all had there hay-day and should just fade away gracefully (only resi can do that anymore thanks to nintendo)

How can you guys kill off GTA? We haven't even gotten to the point where you can enter all the properties on the map.

simple, GTA has some of the most uninspired game play and mission desing knowen to man, with every mission being nothing more than a case of "drive here, kill this, drive here, rinse and repeat" and not even the story (of which there is little) can save it.

GTA, Gears of War and Killzone i hate the most, but would be sweet to see an end to Final Fantasy and Guitar Hero/Rockband as well (GH/RB just cause i suck so badly at them)

How can they put an end to a "series" of games with 1 game! Killzone and Gears of War don't even have sequals out yet...

Not Mario, I'm still convinced that good Mario games are possible... but Mario Party has gone a little far. 8 or whatever Mario Board Games is enough. Also, the whole Mario Sport franchise in general. I like golf, and I really liked tennis. Mario Kart, also good. But baseball? Soccer? Basketball? Olympics? DDR Mario Mix??? Too far. They're gonna run out of sports, and make like a Mario: Extreme Horseshoes next or something.

I wouldn't be surprised if they do. What's next? Mario College Football?

Breath of Fire: Dragon quarter was the low point of the series, never again!

Suikoden: really, the ship mechanic in 4 was lame and your hero in 5 was so unlikable nobody ever wanted to join you.

Half life: Gordon Freeman, have you ever created anything? I thought not.
All WWII first person shooters: end them, NOW!
All yearly installment sports games: waste of cash. Better off playing real football.
All Mario games: Mario sunshine alone should have been enough to tank nintendo
All Wii-sport/fitness stuff: it's a gimmick, like robi the robot and the power glove. get over it so the wii can die as a useless system.


Hell, if it's not a new and original idea, let's just bash it. Spore is just combining EVO and Civilization, so it's not new. Army of Two is just a first person shooter with co-op in mind, so it's not new. And you are just your mother and your father combined, and the worst traits of both at that.

As long as they make the game better and keep telling a halfway decent story I'm all for sequels.

Quite frankly I don't see why people dislike sequels. Really, if something's fun wouldn't it be fun to play an improved version of it?

As for a series that should end, how about Dance Dance Revolution? Not that I really care because I'll never play it again and it's sales aren't encouraging any other developers.

Baldurs Gate: Didn't that finish with Throne of Bhaal about 8 years ago? >_> Except for those abominable PS2 ports which I ignore. Those didn't have expansion anyway, iirc.

KotOR: Uh, the new threat in the outer regions that he's been preparing for? Which was the whole reason behind his unifying crusade as Dark Lord of the Sith? To prepare for the giant evil on the edges of the galaxy. *Sigh* Did you even listen to Kreia in KotOR2? If you played the 'canon' game (Male Light side Revan, Female Light side Exile) then the Exile is meant to leave her followers to gather troops to prepare for the threat while she takes Atton to go help Revan in the Outer Regions.

Zone of the Enders: Ended the game series with number 2 on the PS2? The GBA game was released before that, as I recall. Which is a shame cos in my opinion it (the PS2 incarnations, not the GBA) had the best gameplay of any mecha game so far, with Armoured Core in a fairly close second.

Halflife: Have you finished the story yet Valve? I thought not. More Halflife please.

On the other hand, Ultima, Wizardry, and Might and Magic (not the spinoffs) should not have ended.

Actually make that just Wizardry, Ultima and Might and Magic got bad at games 8 and 9.

I saw some trailers for Sonic Unleashed, and I'm willing to give the series one more chance, since they seem to be going back to speed. The werehog's a downer, but it should placate the people who inexplicably love the recent ones,

FF, for sure. Thirteen games is just to many, especially when you factor in spinoffs.

All horror games need a hospital level (F.E.A.R had labs which were like hospitals, F.E.A.R EP ended in one, Condemned 2 had one) because hospitals by nature should be peaceful. To see them not be is just creepy.
