This man is awesomeness incarnate.

Shame Croteam is mostly PC, and that Serious Sam is incredibly difficult on consoles.

Reminds me of the latest episode of Extra Credits.

It saddens me to say it, but while the games in question are fun, these marketing strategies and stunts are likely rather detrimental to the image of gaming and gamers alike.

Stupid and crass, even if it did get a startled/amused snort out of me. (It was the "Bam. Tit job." that did it.) I don't find the sentiment objectionable (hey, if you want bigger breasts, that's between you and whoever), but it does make me question the maturity and professionalism of the company. I mean, if you work for someone, you're representing them; right now I'm getting that the place is staffed with Mayor Quimbys. (... or maybe Troy McClures. Yeah. Something about the tit job line just sounds right in that voice.)

If I ran the PR department there I would probably be murderizing someone right now. You can let the content of the game speak for itself. You don't have to reinforce public opinion that its a reflection of the personal views and actions of the company.

And suddenly I put this dev on my "do not buy" list.
You have to remember that he works in finance. He's not really a developer, and his entire job is about money.
This.

I seriously (lol, pun) dont see the problem, he is from finances, he doesnt have a lot to do with the actual game, if it was a developer saying that kind of stuff now THAT would be bad.

Uh it reminds me of Kotick, if your only interested in making a ton of money, then I dont care about you. And I know wosmeone will say "every dev does". no, no they arent all like that, e.g PM of LH seems geninely pasionate about games.
He was probably kidding (and failed, at least for you). And acknowledge that (most) games are made to earn money (and his job is about money) even if he wasn't kidding you can't blame him for speaking the truth.

OT: SERIOUS SAM 3!!! Why wasn't I notified, Serious Sam is like among the best shooters I played.

I just don't get why people like large breasts. Medium are perfect, even rather small ones have some appeal (though not nonexistent ones).

my favorite part of the whole post/article/thread is that the OP's name is Tito.

That is the cherry on top

What the fuck is wrong with people these days? We are struggling as it is to prove to the world that games are not just some immature childish medium. It's serious business and it has a lot to offer and then someone does something like this. Mass media these days only concentrates on things like these. They don't care about mature games, they will use these ads as ammunition for anti-video game groups.

Satirical comment was satirical (at least, like Greg said, I hope it was).

I'm unsure where the objectionable nature of that comment came from, I see it as a CFO with a sense of humour satirising the public perception of game companies and their leading figures who churn out dross games just for cash. Sure, it was crass and perhaps over the top but refusing to buy from an entire dev team based on one gag seems a bit dramatic to me.

Personally I prefer small and natural breasts to huge and fake ones. Tit jobs are the cancer of the modern world.

Also, CFO's don't say this kind of thing.
Amen, brother. I have no interest in plastic parts on the Bride of Frankenstein.

I wish women would wake up and realize why fake boobs appeal to certain guys. Hint: it broadcasts vulnerability and insecurity which is like blood in the water to predators.

"Serious Sam 3 is about pure fun and unfiltered action," sold!
Altho the screens do look like they have gone "realistic"(gritty in all shades of brown), really not a fan of that, and I really wonder why since the previous installments had such a great visual design.

Tempted to go out to Google and find an image with the caption "That's the joke". Because it seems that particular joke flew over your head.

I think it's just a silly phase the games industry is going through. You know, just like all the American Pie clones of the late nineties/early two thousands.

I for one welcome it. Controversy over stupid jokes is so much easier to swallow than controversy over super serious real-life mimicry (*coughnorussiancough*)
