Seriously though, why are fanboys so oblivious to facts?

I must disagree with you there. I find that in the long term, people who have seen through at least two of the console generations (myself- PS1, PS2 AND PS3) will happily acknowledge that

1. Graphics<Gameplay.
2. All games are not created equal.
3. These bastard developers are just out to gouge us.
4. Just because a game is not on the console you own does not make it godawful. I do not own either Gears of War or HALO 3, and yet I can still acknowledge them to be quite the multiplayer experience. Likewise, my 360-owning friends still love a good round or two of 'Splitters 2, Company of Heroes and will happily acknowledge Metal Gear Solid 3 to have the coolest ethos around.

I like colour in my graphics. It's kind of stupid because the more I play Xbox+PS3 high graphics games the less I care about the look and more about the way it's all Effing grey. I play Mario kart wii and then play Gears of war for the first time, damn good games both, and after I get over the "wow look at the high def graphics!" thing all I want to do is fiddle with the screen: turn up the colour to maximum so the characters are green; ramp up the brightness until it almost blinds me and then paint my room orange.

Sadly with the screen maxed out it's still really grey. The best graphics I've seen are on Wario land the Shake dimension and the newest Ratchet and clank.

That's confusing graphics with the games color palette/ character design, something that rests soley on the developers shoulders.

Fanboys don't just exist in the gaming world. I'll tell you what causes fanboys, it's a case of the first console someone owns. They think it's the best thing since sliced bread and will argue its case until the end of time. I promise you that all PS3 fanboys has a PS1 as their first console, or even a PS2. All Nintendo fanboys had an N64 as their first console. 360 fanboys are usually a matter of prices though. They couldn't afford a PS3 so they slag it off and the Wii for being too childish. Things I've noticed.

He only owns Halo 3.

360 fanboys are usually a matter of prices though. They couldn't afford a PS3 so they slag it off and the Wii for being too childish. Things I've noticed.

Own all three. Still think the Wii is a crap platform filled with shovelware and fail. Still think the PS3 is lacking in the good games department, at least as far as exclusives go. Have to say though, blu-ray won me over as a hi-def movie format after I watched Casino Royale. Hopefully the blu-ray library will expand beyond the five movies worth seeing I don't already have on DVD.

it's because they're all really insecure about their choice and can't stand the idea that they spent a large sum of money on a substandard console. also a lot of the xbox 360 only owners are a bit jealous that they couldn't afford the PS3. I have all the consoles but before I got the PS3 I would defend my 360 to the death despite the fact it was the poorly-est 360 in all the land (6 RROD)

I think in the PC gaming world (which I admittedly know near nothing about) they do something similar but with graphics cards

Also I own a 360 because:
a.) it came out when i had the money for a new system
B.)Some exclusive titles i wanted
C.)Sony just lost my intrest in the PS3..idk why

Ironically, this was a poor choice, as the Xbox has more RPGs this generation than the PS3 and Wii put together.

Yes because they are actively making themselves to cut into the PS3's huge market. And the ps3 is cutting into the 360s market for shooters with big-name titles such as Killzone 2 and Resistance 2.

Personally, I'm not a fanboy anymore. While I was years ago in the great Sega vs. Nintendo wars, I've pretty much just gotten over it. Now, I own all of the current generation consoles, and really for me, it depends on the type of game, as to which system I'd get it for. I will always get a multi-platform shooter on the 360 (only because the controller is more comfortable), whereas I'll (almost) always get RPG's, sports games, and most fighters for my PS3. The Wii, is a completely different animal, and really, for me, it's lost its gimmick.

Nop, it really is because they can only afford one of them (financially or emotionally) so they have to force themselves to believe everything about their pick is the best.

While this may seem like a pointless post, I couldn't care less about the consoles. I know the facts already having played (However do not own) all 3. I don't own any of them for that matter, I stick to pc gaming. If I were to pick a console though I'd go for the 360, literally cos it has a lot more games and I prefer the controller for the 360 over the other 2, I even have an xbox 360 controller just for playing racing games on my pc

Well, most things presented as "facts" are really opinions. Opinions come with emotional attachments and disagreements over opinions are taken personally.

Really . . . "best graphics" is a matter of opinion. "Best controller", the same. There are certainly cases for every argument, but it all boils down to personal preference.

Since people come to the internet for validation and affirmation of their preferences and opinions (and occasionally information, accurate or otherwise,) it's only natural that some people react like children when that need isn't satisfied. The knee-jerk reaction to rejection is put down the other guy/his console/his game/his mother or whatever target seems most likely to get an emotional victory, if not an actual one.

I have a 360, and PS3 and i say that PS3 i superior in Graphics, while 360 is superior in controllers, that's it really, oh and exclusives for 360

Well, it's about wait and see. Playstation 3 is getting better exclusives now, and Xbox 360's exclusivity is really fading. I expect that when that Perfect Storm of PS3 titles come in this holiday, It's gonna be outselling the 360. I can't wait when games like Resistance 2, PURE, Motorstorm Pacific Rift, Heavy Rain, and eventually (it's a casual game, so this will have a huge amount of appeal) Afrika come, it's going to bring the PS3 on top.

it is sad that the 360 ended up with the most RPGs. But it still has less than the PS2 put out in a month.
