How is that disturbing? He's not hurting anyone.

Go back a couple of hundred years and he'd be in the army, killing people.

I think "todays youth" are alright.
Go to a local middle school and count how many times you hear the word "Gay"

Then you see why.

I think youth today is both getting:
Even more Stupid
Forgetful
Modern generations are being exposed to more information than ever in the course of history. And most kids who say the word "Gay" actually got that from previous generations' homophobia. I'd say we've reached vast improvements in terms of tolerance.

Wow, there are a lot of weird topics on the Escapist today....

What's disturbing about this? I think he's pretty creative. Plus we don't have "KIDS" doing this, and we certainly don't have evidence about the state of "today's youth" on display here, we have one kid. Good Christ, you sound like Fox News.
My thoughts exactly.

THAT is the kind of person who will survive the apocalypse my fellow escapists.
from a youths perspective I would say that the kids of today have not gotten any worse except for the few trouble makers though I find that many of my friends have limited cussing vocabularies.

"I see no hope for the future of our people if they are dependent on the frivolous youth of today, for certainly all youth are reckless beyond words. When I was a boy, we were taught to be discrete and respectful of elders, but the present youth are exceedingly wise and impatient of restraint." -Hesiod

Being convinced that THIS is the generation that is going to ruin the world forever is older than dirt. Literally.

Congratulations, you've turned into your parents/grandparents.
Heh.

To be fair, there's alot of disturbing things the youth of today do that wasn't around previously. They didn't have mobile phones, facebook and youtube to muck about with back in my day.

Is it just me or is this video seriously disturbing? We have kids making weapons out of plastic clothes hangers and crayola markers !

Opinions on this? I think this is creepy, thank goodness I'm a kind person
I actually find you more shocking because I had no idea that people so fucking hysterical existed.

This is one kid and you're calling out the entirety of the present's youth? Ridiculous.

The kid in OP's video doesn't seem malicious in any way. He's just a little boy who thinks weapons are cool (like all young boys do), and has the MacGyver skills to make them in his own home. I'd say he probably has a future in engineering.

Disturbing to some but not me. Last time I knew, most of the shit he made won't kill you, it will just hurt you. Also, this kid is probably gonna be a future green beret or marine; so it works out great for all of us.

This kid is clever, but I fear for the people around him.
These weapons could definately hurt people. That "spear gun" would be enough to puncture someone.

Hes just getting ready for the inevitable trip to prison, where he'll make shanks out of reprocessed condom wrappers and leftover tomato paste.

Let the kid alone!

Bah, disturbing? more like boring. People who did this in the middle ages scaled to and intended on killing people, now thats win. This kids just bored and doesn't have the pre-manufactured supply to build effectively violent toys like the big kids :0

Yesterday's youth is now mostly doing 100% the same, at least if they are in American prisons... They make the same weapons, out of even less stuff.

I'd call this; human creativity and ingenuity.
Bet this kid will become a structural engineer.

In every era, there are people who complain that the youth are corrupted, a mere shadow of the youth of the previous one. Today's children are better than Medieval children who were forced to train as mounted knights pretty much from birth, given weak beer to drink, since water was unsafe, and no formal education. If you have a problem with "today's youth", you probably just have a problem with children in general.
