I don't like Best Buy already. But this is just frighteningly stupid.

Can anyone adequately justify this?

One of the posters in the forum underneath says that Best Buy frequently reuses their Disc shells so it could be referring to some other product and they're just re-using it.

Though, now that I think about it, I'm curious what other disc-based product that would be. Brain Age 2?

My vote is for: some f'n new guy put the signs in the wrong display. My backup guess is shenanigans. Either way, the thought of having "technician" come over to my house and turn on the Xbox for me doesn't really do it for me, but it does sound like the beginning of a porn movie.

They'd never be able to figure my 360 out. You need to jiggle the disc tray in just the right way with a biro to get the damn thing open. Although I suppose I could say the technician broke my 360 and demand a brand new replacement...

They also sell RAM in those packages.

But seriously, it took me about a month for me to figure out how to install the required files for me to play Uncharted.

I used to work at Best Buy. Those hard shells would often house RAM which is what the stickers were advertising to install.

I wouldn't be surprised if the came up with some optimization service for gaming on your home theatre system but this is not the real deal.

Well since BestBuy is the birthplace of retail idiocy, I wouldn't be surprised if this wasn't a thoughtless screwup... Now I have a question... Is anyone here stupid enough to shop at bestbuy?
There's nothing wrong with Best Buy as long as you don't interact with the people there. They have some pretty good prices on large merchandise (T.V's, sound stuff, etc). Just don't buy your cables there as they jack up the prices on them to cover the loss of the T.V. stuffs.

I, too, shop at Best Buy, because I'm on the wrong coast for Fry's and Gamestop is where heathens go when they die. I'm electronic-savvy enough that I rarely, if ever, need to ask them for help, and the prices aren't terrible.

Couple of months ago:

Me: "Hey, yeah - I'm looking for an X-Box 360 Elite."
Stoner Best Buy Employee: *Blank Look*
Me: "It's the black one with the bigger hard drive."
Best Buy Stoner: "Ohhhh, yeah man. Over here."

He brings me to a pile of Halo Edition 360's.

Me: "Noo, these are the Halo Editions. I don't like Halo, and the specs aren't the same as the Elite."
Best Buy Stoner: "Dude, you don't like Halo?!"
Me: "..."
Him: "This is all we got."

He walks away.

I got my Elite at Target.

My vote is for shenanigans as well. In my opinion, if you can't figure out to put the disk in the disk drive, then you should have your videogame license revoked.

EDIT: I got my 360 (Premium) at EB Games. Wonderful service, perfectly reasonable price and the sales staff knew their stuff cold. I can't buy anything there without chatting for a few minutes about something game-related. It's awesome.

First I laughed because I love how things can be so easily taken out of context.

I love Best Buy though, the one we have here actually has semi-intelligent workers who know what they are talking about. I would love to have a 45 minute shopping spree in there. :O
