So a few months ago I bought a ZP t-shirt and an Escapist one. Seeing as how I'm pretty social and outgoing to all sorts of parties, events etc. I'd occasionally wear one. First time I wore the ZP t-shirt outside was at a local gig and after a few pints I decided it would be fun to walk around the venue with a few mates. In a few circles, 22 people rubbed my t-shirt for "good luck" ( a few may have been perverts) and several others would shout things like "Zero Punctuation!" or "Yahtzeee!" to me. I had no idea The Escapist was so popular in my area but atleast I got to meet some interesting people because of it. One was a German exchange student who listened to Death Metal.

So, have you had any similiar experiences or what's your favourite way to break the ice with people? Gaming is a great way among boys and (some) girls whereas music is really good for everyone. Even the dog.

Music is always an icebreaker, you find out you listen to the same music you can talk for hours.

T-shirts do work as you say, my "bugger the revolution, wheres my noodles?" chairman mao t-shirt always gets a few laughs.

I'm sorry that may be the most epic t-shirt ever, where can I get one? (PM please).

Also my friend has a nice one. "Nice legs, what time do they open?". He's gotten laughs, and slaps for that.

I went to a pub wearing a T-Shirt that says :- "And the Trogdor comes in the night!" and a group of guys saw it and immediately started singing Trogdor at me and my friends which we totally weren't expecting as they really didn't look like strong bad viewers or fans of Guitar Hero.

Playing WoW bought up many of these occasions. At a friends house a guy I had never met was there and turned out he played on my server and such was pretty pro.

Nice to hear i'm not the only one. Although mine is more brown than blonde.
Aside from my hair i just generally meet people at concerts and such where i can find people with the same taste in music as me.
Therefore i usually just wear whatever band shirt i find fitting and I usually meet some pretty interesting people.

I wear my replica 1977 Star Wars t-shirt around town. I see guys look at me strangly so I give them a smug "I know" nod. Or they are looking at my boobs...

But all the time when I wear my Pink Floyd shirt with the "Animals" pig on it, people come up to me and say, "Why would you wear a pig shirt?" *facepalm*

I have a friend who bought a 'TROGDOR THE BURNINATOR' T-shirt, and I couldn't believe how many people turned out to be fans of homestarrunner.com. And here's me thinking I was the only one.

I was talking to a friend about how I finished Halo 3 in 6 hours or so, and a girl, a total ditz, who I had never talked to before, and looked like the last person in the world to know what a video game was, let alone play one, turned around and started chatting to me animatedly about the Halo series in general.
A bit off topic but I have to ask. So like, did you marry this girl? I probably woulda, or at least tried to.

This is why I stopped wearing novelty T-Shirts for the most part.

Except my shirts with muppets or fraggles on them. I refuse to let go of those.

my ZP shirts help break the ice, people would see my bright yellow shirt and ask "what does it say?" (because i always wear a jacket-y shirt on top)

so id show them, and they'd go "pants on head retarded....?" and laugh =D fun stuff
