Well a lot of the cultures it is pretty much expected for women to have children at the age of 14 (I won't point fingers.)
not many do besides tribal cultures do anymore, tho it was rather prevalent in our society for a couple hundred years now

We have a lot of people from outside of our great country who come to make our country better (at least that's what I try to tell myself) When it it acceptable to get have children at 14 for girls then that would obviously skew the results.
tho having the president saying "kids shouldn't have sex, they need to abstain" is not really helping your society, i mean look at Palin's daughter and how well abstinence worked for her

the fact is a lot of countries teach proper sex ed and start at a young age, sweeden starts pretty early and also has one of the lowest pregnancy and std rates, it's also not such a forbidden fruit like it is in america

at least in canada it's not that bad, when i got mine back in school i was shown some cheesy 70s film, reminds me of the simpsons episode they did sex ed and Mrs Krappel was going "she's faking it"

I think England's version is worse. My sex education consisted solely of watching a video called "Johhny Condom" which consisted of a condom, dancing around, or.. something, it was a while back. Needless to say, that made things much more confusing, and as such, I turned to the internet, who explained everything in a way I could understand.

Altavista was a better father to me than my biological parent's ever could have been.
Okay after a quick search i found that truly truly disturbing dicknosed creature. In my day the internet was just getting started. Granted that early on it was pretty much stock markets and porno so I guess I could've learned SOMETHING.

Here in Ontario we started in grade 5. I don't remember much of it, just that it was a very weird cartoon that we watched where the narrator exclaimed that "Everyone's penis is different! Just like people's noses!" Then in the video the cartoon boys' noses turned into dicks, detached, and grew wings and flew around in the air.
I'm not making this shit up.
Another dicknose thing. I'm surprised there aren't more nose fetishists out there... or... maybe...

edit: goddamnit it. I can't believe that worked.

I want to know the definition of "responsible porn".

I don't particularly agre with the idea myself, but as far as avoiding pregnancy and STDs, abstinence really is the only really effective deterrent. After all, there's very little chance of getting anything without having sex, right?
Of course, few people actually want to take that route.
Well, technically you can still get stuff from, like, toilet seats.

That's mostly untrue. Short of actually rubbing your genitals against the toilet seat itself, it's unlikely you'll catch anything from a toilet seat.

I think our government has decided to give sex ed to the little children who are in primary! I mean come on! Why?

And if someone were perchance to do just that at every rest stop he's ever been to? Not for any weird reason.. it'd be like a territorial thing.

Because sexual behavior is a part of your life from the moment that you are born, and some people become sexually mature in their early teens.

Abstinence is the best way to avoid STD's in the same way that not eating is the best way to avoid food poisoning.

Also; Sex ed in the uk was detailed but about 3 years too late.

I just thought its unfair. Where's the fun of it? Where's the excitement? When I was little, I didnt know about sex at all.

We (Sydney-sider) actually start quite early... I remember having talks about 'private-places', incorrect touching and getting help in about Year 4. Proper sex ed (you know, sex, masturbation) came at Year 7, and prevention and the like came at about Year 10. However, us guys already knew everything by about Year 8, so there really wasn't a point to it.

Unfortunately, no applications of condoms were allowed... it was all theory.

I think I deserve half the funny credit for that one.

Not really the same thing. Sex is fun and all, but it's possible to live without. Stop eating food, and you die. Eventually.

Not for the British, they die within a few months on lack of sex.

It's also possible to live without eating chicken but many people want to eat chicken. If I started going to resteraunts and replacing health and safety guidelines with 'DON'T EAT CHICKEN' there'd be hell on.

I still don't think it's a reasonable comparison. Everybody has to eat, and there are always alternative foods if some foods are bad for you. Most alternatives to sex tend to be less and less hygienic...

There's always masturbation. Sure it's less fun but it's less likely to damage your health. A lot like vegetables when you think about it.

Pushing abstenance is a retarded way to answer the STD question and it certainly shouldn't be put forward as a form of contraception. Imagine if we allowed such wankerish ideas in other schools of thought!

Meanwhile at Nasa.

"We've got a problem Tim. The third oxygen regulator always ends up being sheared off by friction during take off causing catastrophic decompression. How should we fix this?"

"MAYBE YOU SHOULDN'T GO INTO SPACE! Did you ever think of that!"

Tim would be out on his arse and so should anyone else who posits that particular line of reasoning.

The thing i remember from my sex-ed was that the teacher couldn't stop laughing.
Especially when he had to do a condom over a banana.

As you probaly would have guesed i didn't learn a thing.
