and does it annoy you that they put it there

As long as it feels significant to the plot (Mass Effect) then go ahead. All other forms of media do it, why shouldn't games?

Well, i have never really minded the whole idea, however, in games like say Fallout 3, there isn't really anything, so not only does it seem like a shallow marketing concept but its more or less a false promise.

Oh, and until "*****" has the same meaning as, "Sire," there is going to be subjegation; its often gonna bother me. Yes, it is a selling point.
Still, visual interactive software is a medium of art.
Sex is a component of existence that can (and is often) portrayed in art for both better or worse.

Sometimes, I'd say sex in video games is good. Most of the time it isn't. To prove my point, my friend rented this one RPG game (he played it on the 360, probably on other systems) in which the main character was a gigolo. Yeah... I didn't think that was necessary.

PS- If anyone can PM me the name of it, I'd be glad. All I know is that it was for the 360 and it had 4 disks.... of pure story....)

full body bodypaint + sexy-time, then sell the bedsheets as abstract art.

as for RPG's with sex... i seem to remember banging a drow in the underdark in Baldurs Gate 2... Someone in my party scorned me for it afterwards if i'm not mistaken. The drow sortof ordered me to do it.

These are all interesting points.
My problem with using sex as a selling point, bothers me like how the music does the same thing. its just a bit annoying, especially in Fable2 where they weren't acting serious with the sex thing

That was more of a comedy than a real game though.

It was ridiculously funny, but really, really easy.

Both of the first two fallouts have sex in them. The GAME part of the first two fallouts suck, but it has sex in it.


So far the only one to do it tastefully.. (That is, in a way that is not WE HAVE SEX BUY OUR GAME!) is Mass Effect. You watch the characters grow and the romance is mostly a tool to further the story and the sex scene is more romantic then arousing.


But for the record it IS a good drawing tool, because about sixty, maybe seventy percent of all gamers are idiots who will throw money at anything that shows ample amounts of..

Is it wrong that I was always under the assumption that if your party in an RPG was sleeping at an inn that someone was getting it on?

I blame it on the belief that it seemed like my parents were always going at it when we went to a hotel.
