So I have to have a conversation about sex for my general studies class. Sadly, I'm with my family for the holiday, so rather than have an extremely awkward talk with people I have to see I decided to talk with the anonymous internet community.

So what are you beliefs on sex and where did you learn them from? I have to write a full page on this so the longer your answer the better.

Sex is uh, sex?

It can be for pleasure, to show love. Either way I don't care what people do it for or who they do it with.

And I learned this from picking up my own opinions without anyone telling me what to believe in.

General Studies? Actually doing work in it?! HERECY!

Err well I'm British, and I lost my virginity at 14. No regrets whatsoever.
My parents never encouraged [well, obviously, but you know what I mean], but they didn't mind that I did.
I am now 16 and have had sex with 2 different people, the 2nd being 'non-relationship'. But whatever, I have a liberal attitude towards it as long as you know that you wont regret it afterwards, you know what I mean?

So I guess I learned my 'beliefs' of sex from experience, if that answers your question? Like the guy above me kinda said, it's better to build up your own views and values.

Sex is just that. I don't think anything needs to happen before doing it (other than give consent). People may do what they want how they want. Is that what you meant?

My beliefs about sex: as long as it's consentual you have no right to stop it from happening. Some people would disagree, and those people need to get laid.
I learned the first part from watching a few videos on pornography and mulling it over in my mind. One particular set of videos that I would recommend is from a YouTube user named JordanOwen42 who debunks anti-pornography arguments made by Gale Dines, Andrea Dworkin, Shelley Luben and etc.
The second part I learned by listening to those anti-sex anti-porn people.

Beliefs on sex are extremely liberal, as I see no reason for them not to be. British, don't believe the lies Family Guy insist on spreading, sex is fucking great over here ;)

Just write, 'sex is good, yah?' then put 5000 ;)

*srs faic* Family never told me anything about sex, most of the stuff I learnt at school. At a certain point, they repeatedly taught you the same things over and over, which I guess they did so you would remember it, but I thought it was a bit patronising.
I'm not a fan of porn and prostitution because I think sex should be a thing shared between you and the one you love. One of my friends randomly told me, "I had sex last night."
I replied, "I didn't need to know that. I assume you would have a healthy sex life with your boyfriend, there's no need to shout about it."

I remember going to one of those christian shows like the Harvest Crusades, not sure if that was where I heard it from, but the pastor was saying in his sermon, that sex is 20% of a relationship, but it is a great 20%.

Sex is an act of procreation, but as rational animals, we can use it just for pleasure. Women can use it for control. What is that saying again? Something like she who holds the pussy, makes the rules. I think everyone but homosexual guys would agree.

Such hipocrisy in movies and tv shows nowadays.

Insane violence is great for your kids but OH NO BOOBIES WILL RUIN your 12 year old who probably already watched porn.

Beliefs on sex? Well, long ago, in the Vast Celibate Plains, the vorracious Dildo beast ravaged the lands, only to have to face the great hero, Condomius...

Or maybe that was just a really weird acid trip I had. Anyway, sex to me is mostly just a biological function I do for fun. I don't really see much promise in the idea that celibacy is the preferred option, because I think that suppressing a natural impulse like sex based off of irrational doctrines doesn't really help anyone (if you're celibate by your own choice and have decent reasoning behind it, then good on you). I'm one of those Safe Sex Nazis, though, I'm not planning on having any kids soon and I'll be damn sure to avoid it. Basically, I think sex is something that should be carefully explored by an individual, and that you should never do anything you aren't comfortable with.

Most of these beliefs are things I've figured out on my own, I went to a Catholic elementary school for sex ed so their views were a little...biased (they refused to talk about the actual act of sex and instead just showed alot of diagrams of the penis and the vagina, then explained the science. I can safely say that was one of the few times at this elementary school that they actually used science correctly). My high school sex ed wasn't much better, my teacher was one of those asshole gym teachers who picks on everybody, he used to use people he didn't like in gay marriage examples in class. So out of those 'fun' experiences I'd say the best way to learn is to figure out things in your own way, take your time and all that.

So a twelve year old and a twenty five year old are A-okay in your book?
