Sexy fantasy armor...

You seem to be complaining about a rather large number of games that don't exist. It would REALLY help if people listed some examples of games where such a thing is still prevalent.

Right? I'm sick and tired of people claiming that this Bikini Armor is so wrong and prevelent, when the most I ever see mentioned is Ivy from Soul Calibur and the cast of DOA.

Hell, it's probably best to list the number of media where the sexy armor isn't the case. I mean, look at E3 today, no sexy armor there? All the Top AAA games released has nothing like that. The games I've been playing on Steam, Xcom, Street Fighter, Walking Dead, all have sensibly armoured and dressed female characters ( Well, Street Fighter is equal, I mean you wouldn't wear a burka or full plate armor in a martial arts tournament.)

I see no sexy armor in the Hobbit. Neither Arrow, Game of Thrones ( Barring Protitutes), Dragon Age, etc.

It's an annoying hyperbole.

A few girls from fighting games. ( Soul Calibur is al lthat comes to mind. I guess Mai SHiranui, but what she's wearing isn't really impractical.)
The Cast of Senran Kagura ( Especially the teacher. Everyone else seems fine besides the massive mamaries)
MMO Races ( I'm not an MMO guy, but I guess WOW, though they have mostly erased such things)

The main problem with 'sexy fantasy armor' is that it more then likely is filed under:
1. Basically a thong with two small snippets of metal.
2. A naturally beautiful character face-wise/personality wise who doesn't need that armor to be sexy.

1, you'll never find a male character wearing (not one that will be taken seriously by fans/the game itself anyway) which is why there was a whole debacle about it in the first place.
2, the games industry is getting more and more clever about - but a majority of the characters who fulfill this are either western female characters or characters from anime/Japanese game market (Sephiroth's/grown up Cloud's 'armor' anyone?)

Since people are asking about 'Bikini Armor' games and claiming they aren't prevalent, I will try to list over the next few hours a few bikini armor games/mmo classes from games.
Note 1 : These are only from games I've only played in the last few weeks and from things that I am more then 90 percent certain of.

Note:
1 means: Only the *female* class has nude/uncovering armor.
2 means: Cannot wear anything else/ if there is an alternate armor, it is still revealing.
3 means: male class is just as 'sexualized' but not as nude.
4 means: male class is just as sexualized and about as nude.

Dragon's Prophet - Action, Fantasy, MMO:
Female Sorcerer: 1, 2 (alt white armor for lower levels is choice between booty shorts and miniskirt), 3 (depending on character creation)

No bikinis that I've seen.

Tera Online:
High Elf Female (non metal wearing classes) : 1,2,3. Both genders can be cash shopped to be more clothed.
High Elf Female (metal classes - IE Lancer, Beserker): 1 (later on), 2, 3 (somewhat, depends on customization)
Castanic Female (all non metal wearing classes): 1 (males only naked from lower chest up, majority of time camera is facing away. Take that as you will), 2, 3 (see 1).
Elins: 1, 2. No male nude equivalent

Female Control Wizard: 1 (boob window for many, many levels. Can be covered by shirt underarmor)

Overall, at least from my time playing games, most of the sexualization has been a-lot more equal.

League of Legends needs to get their shit together though.

OT: I don't have a problem with unrealistic armour designs, as long as the fit the setting and actually look good. For example:

This is obviously impractical, but does it look good and fit the setting (Kill la Kill)? Hell yea it does.

Hell naw it doesn't. In fact, that outfit is the sole reason I have yet to watch the series. I don't care how Gurren-Lagann-AWESOME it is, that right there is just stupid.

And no, I didn't have a problem with Yoko's outfit. Skimpy as it was it was still something people have actually worn.

I don't have a huge problem, because I know in Videogames in general have a huge problem what to get right.
I mean, think about this for example:

Did anyone saw in a videogame a real ninja?
Mark of the Ninja don't count.
And even if you find something, there are not many compare to the other "videogames" ninjas....

Fantasy doesn't automatically mean everything goes either. You still need consistency within the story.

I like how most of the listed examples are preety short, or also has equal sexual representation of armor.

Really, what I wanted are series where the men are all armored and ALL/MOST of the females have sexy armor. A DLC outfit or one off character doesn't count.

Also, exposed legs and shoulders/ arms don't fall under sexy armor.

Far enough, I was considering taking it out.

And you just can't say "Most of these aren't sexy or equally distributed" and act like it brushes away the entire list. How is Rayne not sexy? And I assure you that it is not equally spread in that game. The same can be said for a lot on the list, which I can't address considering that you just threw a blanket argument over it. And it doesn't matter if you don't personally find it sexy, it was still designed to show off the female form at the cost of practicality.

I find that hard to swallow considering that you could only come up with a very short list of stories with female warriors in good armor, a few of them not even related to gaming. If you could give me a list of female characters in good armor, I could be swayed.

And please don't mention stories with either no female characters or female characters rotated to non-combat roles. Those don't count for very obvious reasons. And they don't count if they have breast plates.
