Shadow Complex? Thoughts?

I personally thought that it is a good game but would have benefited from keyboard and mouse support for the aiming, I also thought that the 2d game in a 3d world was a bit confusing with the enemies not in your 2d plain and objects that I think I can jump on only to find that they weren't in my 2d plain.

In the end I thought it was a good game with good story and gameplay that was let down by the analog stick.

If I ever have the money, I'll be sure to pick it up. I'm a sucker for the 2D Metroid-Esq games, and the fact that it uses 3D environments sweetens the deal.

It's really good. Quality design, and the gameplay is spot on for the Metroidvania fans.

Agreed on the analogue stick letting it down a little, I wish you had the option to stop it returning to the centre.

Yeah I bought the game, and it was really really good. The most fun I've had on an xbla game. The gameplay has a depth similar to Mariana's trench, and finding ways to skip parts of the game using the foam gun is fun. The story isn't great but it keeps the game moving. The pick-ups are the real star of the show and there are A LOT of them and they are definitely worth getting.

The game imo the best way to spend 1200 ms points, period(.)

Edit: also, one of the dudes on ign's three red lights podcast said he figured out a way to finish the game in 30 minutes, which is amazing.

Awesome game. Best 1200 points I've ever spent. But to be honest, I didn't give a crap about the story, and it wasn't really that good anyway. The gameplay is enough to make Shadow Complex one of the most fun arcade games ever made.

Its an awesome game, but the story is paper-thin.

If you enjoy games like Metroid and Castlevania, its a MUST-BUY.

Easily worth the 15 bucks.

Only frustrating thing; the motherfucking foreground. Yeah, I know the game looks pretty, but that doesn't mean there should be a pillar blocking my sight every five meters.

That is annoying it happens in Trails HD as well

I would say. He goes hiking with a girl he met at the bar who was hitting on him and decides to go sneaking into an armed complex to save her, a girl he hardly knows. Complete with flashbacks of dad telling him "One day, you will find something to fight for".

Yeah. Not a great story.

Gameplay is phenomenal.

definatly copys metroid alot but considering how awsome metroid is thats not a bad thing at all, its really good so far, not sure about the plot tho, kinda weird but the game play is pretty much spot on and the special weapons are very cool
