Shadow of the Colossus: Favourite Colossus

I just finish ICO a couple of days ago. I was chuffed to find it and play it. And I enjoyed it, immensely. But to be honest all I could think for most of the game was "This isn't nearly as good as Shadow of the Colossus."

So of coarse I've dived back into SotC. I'd forgotten how good it was and now I have Colossi on the brain. So, my question is; who was your favourite Colossi, for whatever reason? Unfortunately there's too many for a pole so just state in your post, maybe I'll add one later if some are never mentioned.

Here's a list for any who've forgotten, or those who haven't played the game (WHY?!) but want to take part anyway.

Three cheers for renting games and being too young and stupid to look in the instruction book to find out how to check where you're meant to be going thus losing interest in the game and giving it back the next day and then not finding out it was a good game until years later when it's too late to find the game anywhere!

I second this. That great big flying snake, or Phalanx to use his proper name, was just so beautiful and clearly the single biggest colossi of the lot. It tore my heart out to kill that guy and he was the only one that at no point tries to hurt you directly.

I always liked the one with the giant sword that you had to run up.

Definately the giant snake with the air sacs that you had to pop, it had one of the best appearance cinematics in the game. The second to last colossus had a pretty epic entrance as well.

13 is my all around favourite.

Sometimes though, I find 11 to be an awesome fight - if you get it just right, after he falls off the cliff, you can jump stab him from wayyy up the top - on a 4th playthrough it's an instant kill. So epic.

I like 5, the flying one. But my favorite has got to be the final battle. Epic doesn't begin to sum it up.

You know you could probably add a poll to this,the only one that seems to be getting ANY votes is Number 13/Phalanx/That huge snake.

EDIT:That Massive Worm Colossus that burrowed in the sand was quite a good one too.

I think I'd have to agree with a lot of people and say Phalanx. He's the biggest, most beautiful, and most bizarre of all the colossi. He's also epic to climb (though which one wasn't?) and he never attacks you once. I never liked watching the Colossi fall but that especially got to me.

Yes. Yes it will.

I don't get why people like that one. I HATED that fight, easily my least favorite. You wouldn't believe how many times I'd accidentally jump too late, and fall into the sand. Or get onto it just fine, but then get thrown back into the sand for waiting too long. Needless to say, many bombs were dropped (f-bombs, that is).

The flying snake. I do not remember which number it is but it is definitely my favorite. I can still remember how much fun it was to hold on to its back.

I'd have to say the one in the lake just because when you come upon the lake it's so huge and immense and mystifying, and then before you dive in, you try to look for the colossi and it's just this weird glow at the bottom of the lake, it was actually quite spooky to, I've always hated lakes in games because you never know what's at the bottom.
