Hello people,
I'm really looking foreward to play the HD version of Ico and Sotc on the ps3. I just never had the chance to play them.
But one thing that gives me a bad feeling in my stomach is, that I know that Wanda dies at the end. But that's really everything I know about the ending (and I'm not even sure if it's true)!
I stumbled over this spoiler while I was listening to one of the great soundtracks, I saw a soundtrack called "Wander's Death" -.-!
Well, my question is now: How much will this spoiler ruin my experience?
Please don't tell me anything more about the ending!
Will it still be a touching experience for me?

Yes, there is still a thought-provoking ending. There isn't really much tension on the "will he die or not?" front in the game.

Timeless thingies rarely rely entirely on the shock of twists anyway, and that's something that, while perhaps "shocking" in some sense, is coherent with the storytelling. The fact is perhaps less important than circumstance in this case...

Knowing it in advance shouldn't detract much.

I think you'll still greatly enjoy it.
Honestly with the slightest bit of genre savvy you won't even be out of the opening cutscene before realizing that you are probably gonna die horribly. You won't even be half way through the game before you can probably take a rough stab at what is going to end up happening.
It will still be very interesting, there are many things about what happens that may still surprise you, how they play out is still very well done.
So don't feel like this spoiler will ruin the experience. Besides, even without the story, fighting the colossi is amazing amounts of fun.

Ah, thank you very much, I was quite worried about that! Good to know that I'll still have a beautiful experience.

You'll love it. As the above posters have said.

Knowing what happens at the end of that game (You'll see when you play that it doesn't just end like that) doesn't take away from the grandeur of the game itself. There is so much more to it then the simplicity of that song title. When you play it, you'll understand.

One of my top 5 games of all time.

Dude, if you're only playing that game to get to the ending, you're playing it for entirely the wrong reason and won't enjoy it. That game is more about the journey than the ending. Besides, what you've been told is not actually accurate. At least, I don't think it is. Ah, but that would be telling.

You're good. He doesn't just die there's more to it and you can still experience it for yourself even knowing what happens. Trust me it's still a moving game with fun gameplay.

Plus his death isn't the one that made me cry. Anyone who's played the game knows what I'm talking about.

I don't know if I'd count that, but it was still incredibly emotional. The game is still great if you know Wander dies.

It does so count! I cried for days.

Depending on your level of skill, you may die quite a bit before the game is over (you will hit the ground very hard more than once, and I'd be willing to take bets that you will be stepped on at least once). "Wanderer's Death" is no different than the sound bite you hear after a severe nurse attack in Silent Hill, or the "Too bad! You BLEW it!" from the Ridge Racer series. You can look forward to quite the confounding/thought provoking ending...

Umm... if that's all you know then you still don't know how the game ends.

Don't worry, you'll be fine. Now go play the damn thing.

thats a half-lie.
it's amazing, and story is only a small part of the game, the reality it the understanding of said story and the experience itself

I'll not only play it because of the ending, but I just wanted to know, if it'll hurt my eyperience if I already know one little thing about what I thought is the ending.
When they'll goddamm release it, I can't wait anylonger!
