Ah that's unfortunate that you didn't enjoy it much. I haven't played it yet but am hoping to soon so I can decide for myself, rather than just assume it's good from the hype.

What would be any precautions you would give to someone who is still looking to play it?

What? I think the guy should be allowed to talk about this game he didn't enjoy. There's this stupid goddamn trend on this website to just say "OMG well that's just your opinion" well NO SHIT what else would it be?

And I still don't know what you're saying. What are you saying?
I'm pointing the irony of you both you and the guy your rebuking saying pretty much the same thing.

And now something on topic

Good job killing off the entire species, though. You monster.
Believe me, I felt quite bad after killing some of them.
At least the game made you feel something which I can't say for a lot of games.

1) Mission accomplished. I felt totally alone, not a single person in the game until the very end.

2) They weren't much bigger than Agro. And once they did hit you, the amount of time it took for your guy to get back up was about a tenth of a second before they would charge you again. That's one of those things that I mentioned was more annoying than challenging. I had to find out from the internet that there was a more effective way to shave another second or so off that recovery time than saying, "movemovemovemovemovemove," a piece of information that would have been good for the game to give me.

3) It's not like the game's joints are getting stiff in its old age or that I bought a geriatric version of the game. If I thought the controls were loose now, I would have then, too.
2) It's rather annoying, yes, but he was being attacked by a giant lion... The first mini Colossus was always my most hated one though.

3)I don't know, but when I played it the first time I had no issues with the controls or Agro. Again, you may simply be jaded by how controls have become now, but I don't have much of an explanation for that otherwise.

Personally, I can't wait for The Last Guardian. Even though you just know that griffin will die. It will be sad. People will cry. The game will be beautiful. These are things that we already know.
FUCK, use the spoiler box next time! Can't believe you just did that.

Sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy the game though. When I played it I absolutely loved it. Graphics were amazing for their time and still look good today, soundtrack was epic, I loved how the world gave you this massive feeling of being alone whereas you didn't like it and I loved trying to figure out the way to beat each Colossi and climbing up them.

I will agree that the controls were a bit annoying at times, but that's a very minor complaint about what was otherwise an awesome game.

I honestly never got around to finishing it. Sometimes I was really impressed, but most of the time, I ended up getting bored of following a beam of sunlight around, and popped in a more stimulating game.
I do see where you're coming from on that. I stopped playing it for long periods of time because at times it felt like I was riding around in circles and the horse controls were shit. Don't get me wrong I loved the game, it's one of my favorites. The horse controls were a problem though.

OT: Yeah, not all games are for everyone I really liked the game but whatever, you're entitled to your opinion. I'm also kind of a loner and don't really like talking to people so that might have had something to do with how much I liked the game.

You have an opinion.

That's nice.
Hey.

Shut up.

This is one step below "reported" when it comes to useless posts. Yes, he's expressed his opinion, good for him, it's certainly worth more than your post. He's allowed to, if you're not going to contribute something, keep quiet.
You realize you said the same thing with more words right?
You just said the same thing but with more question marks!!!

EDIT: As for my own opinions on the game. I tend to agree with the following points:

1: The game is intended to instill a sense of desolation and loneliness. Check.
2: The "monsters" aren't evil in any way. They barely even attack. Check.
3: The progression of the main character indicates corruption. Check.
4: The ultimate sacrifice of the main characters body and soul shows how much he loved her. Check.

As such i felt that it was a very moving game.

I'm pretty sure it's just him assuming. He doesn't know for sure. I don't even think the game is out in Japan yet. It might be, I don't know about international release dates but I don't think so.

Oh man, I love this. <-- Not sarcasm

It's absolutely worth playing, but I just wish I had rented it instead of buying it. Like I said, my game budget is quite limited.

I suppose that's the only precaution I could reccomend. Since it's apparently supposed to be hit or miss, rent it rather than buying it.

The op isn't even remotely trolling, why are you flaming eachother?

On topic, I didn't think that this game would be this popular but I loved it. There is nothing else like it out there.

He never said the griffin will die, just that it seems highly likely

Its not out yet, you just know it'll happen though. That griffin is far too adorable not to die.

It's actually going to turn evil or something and you'll have to kill it.
Ganon will posses it and shoot triforce shaped explody floor murals at you!!! thats my prediction.

The point remains that the hero is too innocent and the griffin is too lovable for both of them to survive the game. One of them will die. Probably both. They'll both turn out to either be demons or Jesus or something too.

I see it as a more feminine game too. Mostly because the main character, in typical Japanese style, looks like a woman.

I have sort of a love hate relationship with SotC. On the one hand, it's very atmospheric and some of the battles are pretty amazing to behold. On the other hand, it controls like ass, is extremely repetitive, and the main character couldn't look more effeminate without wearing a skirt.
