As much as I love Studio Ghibli I think even they would have trouble adapting this game to film. The problem (I think) lies in the fact that SotC story is beautiful because of how little you know. All you know is this sliver of information about this incredible world, but all you get to see is this forbidden land. There isn't really a lot of dialogue besides Dormin talking to you and I feel like half of what made that game so brilliant was the grand scale that made it feel like an epic. The movie, even done by Ghibli (which it won't be), is very unlikely to have a 5-10 minute scene of just galloping on horseback to get to one place.wildcard1985 said:

You know, im prone to sending death threats to people who fuck games over like this, but i can't help but remember.......nothing.......SOTC had NO story to fuck up. that being said it was one of the best stories ive ever seen in game. What with cg today this might actually be worth seei........... I just realized they might think it a good idea to give the game a story for the movie....fuck.....
I dont really understand why alot of you hold this game in such high reguards. I mean..there was nothing to it really. Until you get the hang of following the light beam off your sword(stupid idea) the game is like a horse riding simulator. It was absolutely GORGEOUS theres no denying that. The way it was rendered and styled and just just the MASSIVE scale of it all BUT. It's a big gorgeous empty world. With a plot of pretty much..hey follow the light..now climb that thing..stab it here. Enjoy the scenery. Repeat. It was possibly the pinnacle of what the ps2 was capable of. But really and truthfully to me the game seemed like a giant open beta with alot of empty spots to still be filled in with baddies, towns or just..stuff. The first time i played it i was like o.o wow i can't wait to see what the next game they run off this engine is going to be. And we never got one. -_- SO if they make a movie and expand on everything that this game did right in anyway. Then i'm down.
Don't mean to postwhore..just saw this. *off topic* Spiderman 3 would of been fantastic if they kept venom and the black suit emo garbage out of it. That should of been spidey v.s sandman all the way. maybe bring back doc oc. Those 3 would of been insano. Venom is lame in the comics and isn't am interesting enough character to earn a spot in a feature film. And before you rise up against me in the name of venom >.> let me do a quick recap of every comic venom has ever been in "GRRHAYUWAEERRRGGHH i'LL EAT YORU LIVER AND SMASH YOUR FACE SPIDERMAN BURRARRGGHHH" (ten frames later) "GRRAAAWGGHGHH NOOO COLD!!!" or..:BURGAHAHTRRHHG SOUND!!!! If no-one has clued in yet, Video Games interaction with Movies has been a black hole in the media industry. Adn they decide to take the prequel to ICO and make a movie? Wow. All in favor?
