Shadow of the Colossus movie

Honestly, why do they keep trying? And picking the worst fucking games for it? I mean, why not pick a game that could actually lend itself to being a movie? Like say, mass effect? But no, we have to pick a game that is awesome but has such a minimalistic story that its impossible to realistically expand to a hour and a half movie. The minimalistic story was one of the things that made SOTC great, but it won't work as a movie.

Honestly, can anyone actually remember a good game based movie? Why do they keep trying?


Ugh...well at least maybe we'll get to see some of our favorite colossi on the big screen. Who's for the Bird and the sword wielding colossi?

You know where all whining and crying about it. But when the movie comes out where all going to waste money to see it.


I can see it now. Argo is replaced with a dragon. The colossus will be replaced with golems (Which in theroy some of them were already like that). And most likely they will end the film after the first colossus fight. So we have to pay more just to see the end of movie adaption of a video game we already beat. WTF Hollywood.

WHY GOD?!?!?!? Not Argo! If they change one goddam part about that horse, or change ANY of the 16 Collususes, THERE WILL BE HELL TO PAY!

So maybe the movie will just be a three-hour fighting montage. I really can't think of how this would make an entertaining movie, unless they did like.. Three long, epic colossi with flashbacks of.. what?

Perhaps flashbacks of wanderer with Mono. They can be very vague to keep with the uncertainty of the game, and slowly the memories will become corrupted. By the end of the movie wanderer will have forgotten why he is killing the colossi entirely. The man in the mask can also be characterized, following around wanderer the whole movie, and being portrayed as the bad guy. We will only find out at the end that he was only trying to stop wanderer. Then at the end after dormin has completely taken over his body wanderer will remember who mono is and why he is there. He'll reach out for her but it'll be too late. He's a demon.

I think that is the only way it would work; cutting down the amount of colossi to maybe four. I say this because I want to be able to see the fights played out, not some sort of montage.

anyways the gaming fanatic in me cries mournfully at the sheer idiocy of it. but a small part of me the one that kinda (emphatizing kinda) likes unskippable cutscences likes the idea of watching the wanderer killing Colossi in an epic battle

Maybe it'll star Gary Coleman, then the Colossi don't have to be more than 15ft high. And the ending can be like so:

"Oh Wanderer you revived me out of love!"

Oh lord, I'm scared. I don't really know how a game like that could become a movie and I'd hate to see one of my favorite games of all time be turned into a terrible movie. What do you guys think of this?
