So I beat Shadow just a short while ago (something like my second or third time beating it) and I still cannot make heads or tails of the ending. I'm just hoping that if anyone has any theories as what the fuck happens they would let me know. And on the subject of epic awesomeness, who else is fucking pumped for Last Guardian?! God I can't wait for that game!

From what I've heard you need to have played Ico to understand it (I still haven't, I know, I'm a terrible person). It has something to do with curses and horns.

I interpreted it as the baby the girl finds in the end is her boyfriend, who is now merged with the demon. (horns kind of suggest that) because as far as I know the game gives no definitive ending other than that you are to assume the girl lives peacefully in the garden she finds at the top of the tower and raises the child to adulthood.

Its really whatever you want it to be. I decided its the boyfriend in new form because it seems like a much happier ending, plus I bet he's got bitchin demon powers now to protect her.

Here my take on it: the god that you have been working for the whole game was imprisoned inside the giant monsters that you were slaying. When you killed the last one he posses your body and then makes a futile attempt to fight off the men who've come to put right what the player has been doing wrong all game.
And the Last Guardian should be a fun game, although to be honest I'm a little sick of Team Ico's love of brown and green tones, it's so boring after a while.

You are possessed by a dormant "god" once you are killed the girl finds a half demon/human hybrid. This creates a new species of horned people, as seen in Ico. I Guess you could assume that the kid in Ico is the baby, but I doubt that. And The thing in Last Guardian (a sweet looking game) could be a precursor to the Colossi from Shadow of the Colossus.

I'm not an asshole so I'll put everything in spoilers:
From what I gathered, every time you killed a Colossus an aspect of Dormin enters into your body as manifested by those black tentacles. Once Dormin had all of his aspects in you he was able to manifest himself as that giant shadowy demon in order to become a a giant badass again. The priest and his guards were attempting to keep him imprisoned and so cast a prayer that reimprisons Dormin. Dormin, however, kept his promise and revived the girl. The baby at the end is Wander, the horns signifying some kind of residual essence of Dormin. There are a lot of parallels between Ico and Shadow of the Colossus but they could be completely unrelated. Wikipedia can tell you all the similarities.
Team ICO generally just gives you sparse storytelling. Its part of the beauty of it.
And I am pumped for the new game.

I loved Shadow of the Colossus. best game made for the PS2. It was one of the first games (along with ico), that incorportated so much art into a video game.

By the way, did you notice how as the game progresses your character model starts to look more tattered and worn out as he is slowly possessed? I thought that was a really cool subtle touch.

Last Guardian FTW - I don't have a PS3 yet, but I swear that game is more likely to make me buy one than God Of War 3 is.
Shadow is one of the best games ever.

It's a prequel to Ico.
You're the reason why kids with horns are hated, for fear of them being bad luck.

The trailer for Last Guardian nearly had me in tears, god knows what the actual game is gonna do to me... please, Team Ico, don't make the big cuddly monster die.

It not only has to die, odds are you'll have to kill it.
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Yeah, it just looks too tragic a character not to die in a team Ico game. Bastards,

Yes, I loved that. His hair seemed to get darker too, and perhaps his veins get blacker?

I would post what I think it's about, but others seem to have generally covered it. Great game, looking forward to The Last Guardian.

I just wanted to know if the girl woke up. and I knew it had something to do with Ico 1. Wander's the original Horned dude.

I noticed. He looks more pale and tired. The last battle with the last colossus was also epic that it should be in one of the top of the most epic battles in gaming history.
