Real Name: Whatever it was, its been lost now. Any reference to it was wiped out along with his tribe. "Doesn't belong to anything now, not even to the dust of history."
Aliases: Ulysses (the name he gave himself after breaking free from what was essentially corporate slavery; and previously, "Hercules".
Age & Gender: Male; 38.
Race: Human
Height & Weight: 180, 5'11", lean and muscular build.
Type: Adept Courier
Appearance: Midnight black skin, medium-length black hair twisted into a series of dreadlocks. Wears a small set of light armor underneath a long, gray sleeveless coat with a rough depiction of the old U.S. flag on the back.
History: Ulysses grew up with the gangs of Seattle. His parents abandoned him at a young age, and he quickly picked up the art of pick-pocketing, thieving, and making the best possible getaway. Eventually, he was caught trying to steal from a member of the Twisted Hairs gang. Impressed with how close he had gotten to their hideout without being noticed, they recruited him. He was relatively happy with his new family, his new 'tribe.' He learned how to use SMGs and bladed weapons efficiently during his time with them, running messages between them and other gangs, getting involved in turf wars, evading or even taking down the dozens of rent-a-cops out there. It was a brutal, violent existence, but the best one that Ulysses ever knew. Then, he Awakened, and Ulysses became faster, stronger, and all that, which led to the gang calling him 'Hercules'. It was when the Twisted Hairs 'elected' him to be their leader (at age 23) that things started to turn for the worst for them and him. Sure, he led them on many successful jobs, and into the Twisted Hairs' little Golden Age. But... they became victims of their own success when the Megacorps finally started to pay attention to them. One by one, the Megacorps bought off individual members of the 'tribe,' sent them after other gangs and megacorps, stripped them of their identity by making them wear and use licensed and sponsored gear. All slowly lost their identity as a member of the Twisted Hairs. Eventually, Ulysses couldn't stand to see the slow march towards their own demise that his tribe was grinding itself into despite his best efforts, so he killed them all himself. He buried 'Hercules' along with them that night, taking the name 'Ulysses' after another hero of classical legend that spent a decade searching for his home. Knowing that nations had been superseded by Megacorps and the descendents of the Native American tribes, Ulysses saw that in order to make a home he could believe in, he would have to find 'the invisible fire that will burn them all, Star and Tower both.'
Reason to be here/things to do: Where better to find the invisible fires, than in their shadows?
Personality: Highly intelligent, largely self-educated, he tends towards the poetic form of speech to a degree; often speaking in metaphors of his own devising. His voice is firmly locked in a gruff monotone, as if someone came along and wrung all of the emotion out of him. He's often described as a 'melancholy' sort of fellow with good reason.
Notable skills: He has years of experience fighting with SMGs and bladed weapons (especially knives and swords). He is generally a very eloquent speaker, and doesn't lack for confidence, even if he does often seem to be... almost devoid of emotion. He is a decent hacker, but he isn't any good at hacking say, a security turret, but rather, his hacking skills are better suited for gathering information. He is also very good at picking pockets, stealing, moving about without being noticed, and getting away. His adept abilities enhance his strength and running speed in short bursts. He can also use his Adept abilities to see clearly in the dark (much like how a cat sees the world; full color even in the dark), as well as being able to jump 20 feet in the air and fall from 50 feet without dying.
Equipment: SMG with extended barrel; combat knife on his belt, and a katana strapped to his back. He also has a satchel he uses to carry small items around.
Contacts: The girl in the photo is, as the image suggests, one he saved. She's been grateful ever since. (who exactly this is, I leave up to the GM, or another player if that is preferable)
Other: He holds no respect for either the Megacorps of the East or the Native American Tribes of the West. Its also possible that there are other remnants of the Twisted Hairs wandering around, still kicking. Whether that is the case, I leave up to the GM.
