[HEADING=1]Shadowrun[/HEADING]

The year is 2058.

Magic has returned to the earth after an absence of many thousands of years. What the Mayan calendar called the Fifth World has given way to the Sixth, a new cycle of magic. An Awakened age.

The Sixth World is a far cry from the mundane environment of the Fifth. It is exotic and strange, a paradoxical blend of the scientific and the arcane. The advance of technology has reached a feverish pace. The distinction between man and machine is becoming blurred by the advent of direct neural interfacing. Cyberware. Machine and computer implants are commonplace, making metal of flesh, pulsing electrons into neurons at the speed of thought.

The rising magic has caused archaic races to re-emerge, transformed from human form as the rising magic activated their DNA. Elves and dwarves, orks and trolls. Even the most ancient and intelligent of beings, the great dragons, have come out of their long hiding. Only a few of these creatures are known to exist, and most of them have chosen a life of isolation and secrecy. But some, able to assume human form, have integrated themselves into the affairs of metahumanity. They have used their ancient intellect, their powerful magic, and their innate cunning to ascend to positions of power.

The Matrix has emerged out of the ashes of the old global computer network. A virtual world of computer-generated reality has emerged, a universe of electrons and CPU cycles controlled and manipulated by those with the fastest cyberdecks, with the hottest new code.

It is an era where information is power, where data and money are one and the same. Multinational megacorporations have replaced superpower governments as the true forces on the planet. A world where cities have grown into huge sprawls of concrete and steel, walled-off corporate enclaves and massive arcologies. The megacorps exploit masses of wageslaves for the profit of a lucky and ruthless few.

But in the shadows of the mammoth corporate arcologies, live the SINless. Those without System Identification Numbers are not recognized by the machinery of society, by the bureaucracy that has grown so massive and complex that nobody understands it completely. Among the SINless are the shadowrunners, traffickers in stolen data and hot information, mercenaries of the street - discreet, effective, and untraceable.

Name and/or Alias: Sado Renkin (AKA Demon)
Age & Gender: 28 Male
Race: Troll
Height & Weight: 8'5" and 750 pounds
Type: Heavy Gunner

Appearance: "Born to scare the drek out of ya."

Sado - or Demon as he prefers these days - is practically a poster child for the Humanis PoliClub hate parade. Not only is he a troll, but he's a black troll with a menacing build and a pair of widely-curving horns that make him seem actually demonic. Brown eyes, dark skin/plating, and intimidating - a combination well-suited towards making the other party shit bricks. Hair is black and kept short, fangs sharp and polished. Now, being a troll, there is a certain natural bigness about him, but he's also built. This is the body that trained and exercised to transform it into a strong and even athletic crushing machine. It screams military is what it does. Beyond all that, Sado actually looks fairly-decent for a troll, but this is sometimes lost in the intimidation effect.

He could be seen on an off day in normal clothing, or you could properly fit him in a troll-tux if he were a bouncer or had to go to a place with a dress code, but all the more likely you will find him dressing for his runner work, which has been suited to fit the demon motif ever since he started. To wit, the black troll likes to dress darkly with perhaps some red or blue highlights, sometimes the pants are blue or the shirt is different, but it's all armored clothing and it's an armor jacket - black jacket - as well. Tough troll-sized boots with steel toes, as well. No obvious augmentations, but he has some in there.

History: "Ain't gonna be a long story. Got sort of a touchy past."

Born and raised in Seattle, Sado's life revolved - for a time - around the drekhole we know as the Puyallup Barrens. You know the drill of the place. It's almost practically lawless except when the law patrols, and even then there's a chance of the patrol getting itself blasted. And back when it was Lonestar doing the rounds, you'd see that happening a few times. No, this wasn't a neighborhood. It was the jungle. And if you didn't learn that, you got eaten. He's watched a number of raids, sometimes. They were always fun. Sado didn't make alot of waves, being a noisy troll waving his personal banner around and acting tough, though. He WAS tough, and people learned to use that. However, he wasn't totally immoral either. Some things, you just couldn't get him to do. And if you tried, morality would break again...along with your face. This was Puyallup. You think they do anything more than a cursory investigation 'round here? Hah.

Well, he moved out at a young age. Couldn't stand the 'bad neighborhood mom-and-pop shop' routine anymore. Even if it DID sell illegal equipment on the side. Anyway, Sado elected the best and cheapest way to put himself at tops was to hit the ROTC for training and education. That's right, he enlisted. And surprise, surprise! A big-ass troll with his own personal armor-plating got in. 'Course, he wasn't a drooling idiot either. The common sense rule said to cover all his weaknesses, so he just blatently threw himself into it. Training wasn't as hard on him as it was most other races. The academia was the real hard spot. Even still, between this and some good instincts, he became a soldier for heavy combat, and a damn good one. You know how they say that the brass never know what they're doing until someone lower who's been in the dirt tells them what's up? That's him. Sergeant Sado Renkin.

When he was in the service, going up to and reaching his rank, Sado found it best to - in a combat situation, either draw some of the fight right at him or suppress it heavily with his own weaponry. Any idiot can charge in or grab anyone's attention or fire a machine gun. Sado did it well. He covered his assets, reacted well, and ultimately set up his own situation so that either he could hunker down and take it to defeat the enemy or get his men to crush them while they're busy. This big damn troll probably would've gone far, except... Well, except you know that a man in his position can be on the receiving end of...troubles. He got tired of hearing about it: The harsh slurs and the the damn assholes who go off on their ethnic crusades... You know the ones. They persecuted people like him back when everyone was human, a time ago. And now that metahumanity is abound...you know Sado has to have his own hatred on. But one night...

It was suppose to be an unoccupied facility, but there had been reports of movements within the factory. Just an old out-of-business location. Nobody was aware of anybody having the rights to come here, but on a pass-over by plane, somebody saw lights. It warranted investigation. Sado and a few men came in there, ordered a man that they saw to halt. The man reached for something and he was shot. Further investigation revealed three things. He had a heavy uzi, he had a handheld comm that was not the commercial variety, and he had a pin that Sado recognized... Humanis Policlub. Now, they argued. Was he going to shoot or call someone? What was he doing here? Did this mean there were more? It was trespassing, but they didn't have orders to shoot these people. Someone called it in, and base ordered them to fall back. Sado did not follow orders. He had his own theory, one that turned out to be true...especially with the sudden order. They had stumbled upon a Humanis base that someone higher up was sanctioning that their base had not been apprised of until now. Sado's line of reasoning was "LIKE HELL!" and stormed the building by himself.

You can imagine what happens to a bunch of lightly-armed humans in the face of one big military troll. The only thing NOT full of holes was everything that had exploded instead. Sado made every inch of his advance loud and destructive to make the enemy run in while he waited off to the side to frag 'em. Yeah, he knew that he was gonna have to answer to someone for this, which is why he decided to take to to the shadows...to become the Demon they thought of him as. "Just makin' a statement, chumly.".

Reason to be here/things to do: "Hmm, let's see. I disobeyed a direct order and I killed an entire base's worth of anti-meta scraggers, in all likelyhood tanking a government deal with those drekholes for reasons unknown, so I guess I'm hiding out from the UCAS Military and Humanis PoliClub alike for a night's worth of painting the walls red."

Personality: "My head's not a nice place to be."

Sado naturally feels a certain deep connection with his heritage. Not a spiritual connection, but a bond. A 'This is who I am, so this is what you deal with, fella.' kind of thing. He is fierce being who keeps an eye out for danger or potential danger. Early life AND military training has made him the well-oiled war machine in humanoid form that he has become, being able to do things with relative ease and not have to think about them too hard or worry too much overall about the problems down the line. He has a very quick risk-VS-rewards instinct on the matter of how he acts, only acting on impulse when it isn't too terribly important. One of the things he could always do was assess a tactical situation and see where his skills could fit in. He worked alot of support, defense, and even rescue in the service, as he could easily take a few hits to pull someone else out of hell. It's not an immense loyalty factor, but he has certain duty habits that never go away. You can definitely see him leaving an idiot to die, and he's known quite a few.

Being a stern and tough-looking troll is practically a part of his heritage, but he has other qualities outside of it. The aforementioned morality by which there are some bridges he will not cross was exactly how the massacre got started. He would not allow the implication that he was being ordered to pull away from Humanis right in front of him simply fly. It would mean that he was allowing them to do something devious and possibly worse than HE could ever accomplish alone or with his squad. He hates anti-meta people, tending to be flippant and rude to them in polite company, violent in a situation where it's likely to occur. All that is out of a certain pride because he happens to LIKE the way he was born. His sense of humor can be cutting and sarcastic at times, but he also has legit humor in there somewhere. One odd point is that he's fine telling jokes about himself...even though he hates other people talking shit about him. It's sort of like owning a gun. In his hands, it's alright. In others, not so much. The whole 'Demon' thing is a point of personal style, going with what you have and making it look good.

Notable skills: This is, buy and large, taken out of his actual character sheet.

Automatics - The guy can handle a load of firearms, but he specializes in rapid-fire killing machines.

Unarmed - Military-trained to beat the ever-loving shit out of someone with his body.

Gymnastics - General running, jumping, climbing, etc. kind of stuff he had to learn in basic.

Survival - In the concrete jungle or a real one, wasteland or otherwise, Demon knows the rules.

Perception - You don't get very far in ANY military organization without some of this.

Intimidation - The ability to make it Brown Trousers Time just by standing there and grinning.

Etiquette - Demon is rough around the edges by nature. He is disciplined to curb that as needed.

Pilot Ground Craft - Able to drive and inflict road rage all at once on his bike.

Negotiate - Probably the way Bruce Willis does, with common sense and a gun.

Biotech - Enough skill to use a field kit under fire and get a guy on his feet again.

Mechanics - The basics, such as vehicle maintenance and so on.

Military Procedure - If it moves like military and talks like military, he spots it as military.

Security Procedure - He's been around the block a little, knows about this too.

Police Procedure - Likewise with the cops. In the barrens, he was Bystander A.

Troll Quality - Long reach, dermal plating, large body, Termographic vision. In short, DAYUM!

Magic Resistance - It is harder for magic, harmful OR helpful, to affect him.

Toughness - Physically tough in a manner that allows him to resist damage.

Guts - He also resists fear and intimidation, himself. Being a big troll, it makes sense.

Ambidextrous - Equal skill in both hands, thus no off-hand difficulties.

Language - English and...Japanese, oddly.

Equipment: Fun time!

HK-227 - Submachine gun with single, burst, or auto-fire, modified with Smartgun System.

Ares Alpha - Full assault rifle with same trimmings as the HK-227, plus underbarrel grenade launcher.

Grenade Launcher - Ares Alpha undermount.

Armored Clothing, Jacket - Basic armor addition to his heavyset self.

Bone Lacing - Cyberware. Aluminum construct, protecting the bone structure (and everything under it).

Smartlink - Cyberware implanted in his flesh eyes, giving him barrel-view of his guns for better aiming.

Ballistic Shield - Heavy metal curved shield used for blocking incoming fire.

Ammunition - A large amount of Flechette and APDS rounds (in clips), launcher frag grenades.

Platinum Cred-Card - Large capacity, funds a little low. (Troll lifestyles are expensive.)

Fake Stuff - Fake SIN, Fake Gun Licenses, Fake Driver's License.

Hermes Ikon Comlink - With Trideo, Bio-Scanner, and White Noise Jammer device.

Gecko Gloves - These are neat. They stick to things like walls and let you climb them.

Survival Kit - All the basic necessities for a guy caught out in the wilds.

Medikit - Remember when we said he could patch things up? Yeah.

Doc Wagon - Basic service. Demon can walk off the rest, most times.

Lifestyle - Mid-level, neighborhood and food passable, okay for the troll on budget.

Harley Davidson Scorpion - A large and powerful motorcycle cast in black with silver highlights, modded with anti-theft system and a FN-HAR assault rifle (with laser guidance and both manual and remote triggering) mounted in front.

Contacts: "The more chummers you know, the better."

Barry Hanslow - Owner and main bartender of Barry's Bar in Seattle Downtown. He's been a great help to Demon on the whole under-the-table fake stuff. It's part of his routine. He runs a nice little decent bar that doesn't appreciate the rowdiness, and on the side he helps runners be runners and avoid any suspisious eye. They go way back, back to the barrens. Generally has information, the kind you can get by being an unassuming bartender that pretends not to care what people are babbling on about.

Fisheye Placebo - Decker/Fixer who specializes in the fixing by going into the Matrix and changing around a few simple orders to get what is desired. Demon doesn't get on with her very well, but she likes his nuyen well enough.

Other: Let's see here...

Demon is allergic to ragweed, which is not in of itself important, but can be problematic on a mission at times. He IS wanted by the UCAS Military and Humanis PoliClub. He hasn't been found yet because Humanis doesn't even know his face and the military have either alot to do or alot of trolls to sift through at times. The name, Sado Renkin, is rarely used. Even still, his past problems are a thing that could come to light. You could poke him with hunters and old squadmates who knew 'The Sarge'. People freaked out by his looks is always fun. He's probably prime meat for someone's pet cyberzombie project, if someone were inclined to rip him up for that. Oh, it should be important to note that Demon is personally afraid of contracting the HMHVV (Human Meta-Human Vampiric Virus) on the grounds that he's worried he'll turn into "A drooling idiot of a braindead fragging DZOO-NO-QUA!" or a Fomorian. Not exactly sure, overall. We could discuss things if you like.

Quick question, since I like making weird characters. Could I make a character who has fudged their way into having serious sway in DocWagon? Basically so he can use certain drugs and call in HTR teams. He would be appropriately less combat savvy.

Sure. I don't see any problems with that.

Name and/or Alias: Samuel Jacoba: Alias, Zadikiel

Age & Gender: 34 Male

Race: Human

Height & Weight: Five feet tall, about 140 pounds.

Type: Medic.

Appearance: Small, chubby and generally unpleasant looking. Zadikiel is not a very intimidating or attractive person, he is often made fun of for his appearance, but has embraced it to the point where it no longer bothers him. He is capable of some impressive endurance, but that might just be from the stimulants he likes to inject in himself. He is entirely clean of cyber and proud of it, which means that everything he has is natural. Sam has slicked back, slightly greasy hair that is a jet black. This combines with his brown eyes and tiny nose to give him a very unclean appearance. In reality, he has no control over it, and is very very clean. He is an experienced medic and is typically seen in his work clothes.

Sam?s work clothes are a tightly sealed hazmat suit that is overladed with kevlar. It makes him look almost like an astronaut, but he is perfectly agile in the suit and very difficult to take out of the field. The suit is colored a blank white, and is fairly generic. Outside of work, he is mostly seen wearing sweatpants, t-shirts and whatever else is comfortable and laying around. He has a suit that he wears when he checks into DocWagon, but that is rare. He takes very good care of this suit.

History: Life is kind to the beautiful, some say, unfortunately for Zadikiel he is not beautiful and has had to work for just about everything he has. From his small apartment, to his larger secret apartment that he actually lives in, to his dresser and whatever is stuck inside it. Zadikiel is short, fat, not particularly funny or witty, and is just not socially adjusted. He wants everything he can get out of life, but nobody likes to take him seriously. It was during medical school, that one of his suite mates informed him of a way to make some money on the side. Shadow Runners liked to call DocWagon when they got in a bind, but DocWagon had no scruples about turning them into the cops if they came knocking. So, most of these shadowy types liked to call in service elsewhere. Sam was at the top of his class and so one day, after stating he was up for the task, he got a call.

Some say, the first time one dips into the darkness, it takes a hold of them and they never leave. Zadikiel was almost the opposite way. When the darkness went to him, it just could not get away from him. He would charge more Nuyen, but people would keep paying because of how good he was at what he did. Suddenly, his appearance no longer mattered. Who he was on the outside was not as important as his persona, the white angel of freedom was what people liked to call him. Most of these guys were uglier than he was too, which made him feel better.

Money was great and all, but as Zad built up connections, it was clear he would need some sort of cover story if the feds ever came knocking. So, a few of the people who owed him favors went ahead and helped him ?rise through the ranks? in DocWagon. He started as a simple ambulance driver, but within years he was a top executive who?s job description was surprisingly vague. He showed up once a month, inspected something and left. Nobody questioned what Sam did, and he never took much money from the company aside from his Super Platinum coverage and his occasional fixing. Now, he had supplies, a cover for his money, and power.

The shadows are not pretty though, and Zadikiel learned what being defenseless can do to a person the hard way. It was some stimed out troll that got him, just would not accept the medication and went on a rampage. Sam would be dead if the guy didn?t pass out from blood loss while on top of him. This is how he began his experiments with DMSO, a powerful drug that when mixed with other drugs, allows the second to be absorbed through the skin. A simple water pistol, long range squirt gun or modified paintball gun can apply a lethal amount of Arsenic, Neurostun or whatever he needs from a distance, or at close range. He also carries a few grenades, though prefers not to use them.

Zadikiel is now mostly taken on highly dangerous missions that will likely end in casualties. He rarely loses a patient and is one of the best doctors in the business. When one needs divine intervention, the angel Zabikiel is here for a price.

Reason to be here/things to do: People are looking to get a fix, get some wounds fixed on the down low, or perhaps a way OUT of the shadows. Zadikiel is the kind of guy who can get people out of sticky situations.

Personality: Sam is a coward, first and foremost. He doesn?t like confrontation, he dislikes shooting and really doesn?t like killing. He is at home when it?s just him and his patient. That said, he is not stupid and has enough common sense to know when to throw a frag out and when to poison people. He is pretty stringent on his refusal to kill patients during operations and will not do what he likes to call ?docsassinations?. He is also relatively quick to call in backup from DocWagon and anyone who threatens him can consider themselves dead if they get injured. He is generally kind to those he meets and is pleasant to be around if one can get over his appearance and lack of social skills. A lot of those in the shadows consider him to be a good friend, likely because he saved them, or someone close.

Notable skills:

Connected: Everyone knows of Zadikiel and most people owe him something. Nobody wants to get on his bad side and he is generally considered a cool dude. Don?t fuck with the white mage.

Medic: He is very very good at patching wounds up. Most medical techniques he is at least familiar with and nothing is really past his skill set.

Poisons: He has a lot. He also knows how to use them.

ALL THE DRUGS: Whatever it is you need, if DocWagon has it, he has it.

Accurate: While he rarely uses them, Zadikiel is very good at hitting people with his squirt guns and paintball guns.

Language: One would have a very difficult time finding a language that Zadikiel doesn?t speak. Communication is very important in medicine.

Money: He has a lot. Meaning he can buy things. He isn?t wealthy, but he is well off.

Reinforcements: DocWagon can be called by him at any time.

Hey, fuck that guy: Messing with Zadikiel is not smart, everyone uses his services and if he wants to, he can have a lot of big scary guys try to knock some sense into you. As little green once said "Don't fuck with the white mage."

Equipment:

Weapons: Pistol, two water pistols filled with DMSO and whatever else he wants in them, two larger squirt guns with a forty foot range, and a few frag grenades.

Armor: Kevlar plating on top of an airtight hazmat suit.

Special: All of the medical equipment. He has a fancy box that he likes to carry around and just about everything he could need is somewhere in it.

Drugs: A lot of neurostun, DMSO, and arsenic. Painkillers are popular and he has access to recreational drugs, though he does not personally use them or carry any around.

Contacts:

Big Lou: "He's Big Lou, who the drek are you?" Big Lou runs a criminal enterprise and is the one who scouted out Zadikiel in the first place. There are a lot of runners under Lou who would be dead if it wasn't for Zad. If he needs something done, Lou can probably do it. Maybe it will cost something, maybe it won't, but it will get done.

Skeevy: Skeevy runs a drug trade, and sometimes when he needs the finer stuff he will go to Zadikiel for a bit of help. He is a constant source of cash for Zadikiel, if he can pull the right strings.

Seer: "Say you need someone, but you don't know who? Seer's got your back." Seer is the guy who connects the guy to the other guy. A bit of a go-between. After Zad branched out from Big Lou, Seer became his number one source of customers. Someone needed healing? Seer would send them Zad's way. In return for filling out his service with Seer, if Zad needs to find a special something or someone, Seer has it covered. He is less reliable than Lou, but also reaches out to a greater audience.

Clubbums: Clubbums is a big troll who isn't very bright. He also gets hurt a lot and invariably Zadikiel ends up patching him. Clubbums is paid pretty well so the two tend to get along. Zad has him on speed dial.

DocWagon: Yeah, that DocWagon. If he needs good reliable backup, DocWagon is at the tip of his fingers. Aside from his Super Platinum subscription, Zad is also able to manipulate a few extra defense squads on occasion. He can't abuse this without rousing suspicion though.

Other: He is very sensitive about a couple issues, which I will keep secret until important. If brought up or abused, he might blacklist you. Maybe. It?s mostly a security measure.

Playing against type! This is the kind of guy who could probably be killed instantly by some of the tougher adepts, but god help you if that happens because fucking with the white mage is generally considered a bad thing.

Name and/or Alias: Mr. Gray
Age & Gender: Male of unclear age
Race: Human
Height & Weight: 5ft 10 80kg
Type: Jack of all Trades/Face
Appearance:
If you were to ask what Mr. Gray looked like the answer would be something along the lines of ?..scars? That?s all I can remember?. Physically he is utterly average in every way; average height, average build, average man. He has the bearing of an older man yet his hair remains black as coal, cut short and neat as if he had walked out of an Ares? boardroom. His face is the only thing to set him out from the crowd; a mess of scars and cuts covering every inch, the most prominent being a gash from the right of his forehead down to the left of his neck. Over his mouth and nose is a rebreather; whether or not he needs it to live is unclear.

Beneath the surface of his skin are augmentations; numerous and all-encompassing, rumours still go around that he?s just a robot wearing deadman?s skin. The only clear augmentation is his right eye; the eye itself is hidden behind thick blackout shades but the entire area around gives evidence to some heavy augmentation.

History: Mr. Gray has a history spreading back well before the Awakening itself; supposedly active since the Cold War (albeit with less tec) he was a Runner before Runners were a thing. It?s unclear as to how he spent this time, and for which side he worked; really any information before 2011 is dubious at best. Nevertheless his name has been put on hundreds of pre-Awakening jobs, everything from espionage to assassination. Even his country of origin is unclear, as it stands he speaks with an American accent and is operating in Seattle, however he has worked for companies all across the world and started running in Osaka. It wasn?t until the age of the Megacorps that Gray found stable employment; first working for Shiawase with its newfound extraterritoriality then taking work as it came from whichever corp wanted him. A jack of all trades he?ll take any job offered

His dossier is long but not glamourous; job after job, employer after employer; you hire Mr. Gray for reliability and the knowledge that he will get it done. Naturally he has a rather impressive reputation, as anyone who?s been active for nearly 100 years would. Numerous theories as to his backstory persist, one thing that?s certain is it?s the same man; same scars, same voice, same style, and the knowledge of a thousand jobs. He never forgets an employer or contact and remembers each and every thing he?s been paid to do. We know that elves have the potential to live for a hundred years. Gray is a human who has.

Unlike most legends of the street Mr. Gray is quite easy to validate; he?s operated from the same fixer for the past 40 years and is always available for a job. Nevertheless street scum still tell stories of Mr. Gray, the immortal runner who?s been alive since the dawn of time and whose final job will be to close the gate of the universe. After the necessary credit has been wired to him.

Reason to be here/things to do: Really one knows. You would think after a century of work he?d have enough to retire. Most assume he does it for fun these days.

Personality: Most of whats known about Gray comes from second hand experience, ?I knew a guy who worked with him once..? etc. Accounts of his personality range from a psychopathic muder-machine to a poet with a gun; ask any runner on the street and they?ll tell you something different, most likely what they heard from their buddy at the bar. What?s certain is that he will finish what?s started and takes great pride in his work, why else would he be in the game so long?

Notable skills:
Legacy You don?t spend a century in the shadows without knowing a few people. Gray has a contact for everything and anything, never forgetting a favour he?s done or what he?s owed. His scars and rebreather make him recognisable as the legend his is, if you?re on the street you?ve heard at least one story of Gray.
Naturally this is only useful in cities; Gray has done jobs in pretty much every major city you care to name but his reputation is strongest in Japan and North America.

Augmentation Gray?s body has been enhanced countless times, updating his cyberware as the years go by. Even though none is apparent on the surface its clear he?s packing serious tec, stories recounting him jumping off highrises and punching through walls. The subtly of his cyberware makes his oh-so-obvious right eye a serious anomaly.

Guns Gray is no mage, he lived through the Awakening and came out powerless. However over the years he?s worked with any type of gun you care to mention, always favouring pistols.

Melee Though he prefers using lead Gray is still a capable fighter up close, he doesn?t carry any melee weapons but is still deadly with anything from a sword to a chair.

Knowledge: Shadowrunning Hes been in the game a long time, its been his entire life. Gray knows the ins and outs of the shadows better than anyone.

Knowledge: Language Fluent in English and Japanese. Competent in most major languages.

Jack of all trades As said before you call Gray when you want something done. He isn?t the best at anything but he?ll do everything; stealth, theft, protection, ?protection?, murder. Whatever you want.

Equipment:

Store houses is most cities containing a variety of weapons and gadgets. Equipment for most jobs.

Preference for the Predator Heavy Pistol which he keeps on him at all time.

Heavy Augmentations

Fake SINs

Utterly off the radar, no passport or data of any kind. He doesn?t exist.

Contacts: Whoever he needs.

Hope he doesn't come across as too Mary Sue, just for anyone doubting there is more too him. Also I can spell grey.

Hey I'm thinking about joining this. I've been in and ran Play by Posts on another forum so I'm not a stranger to it but I've never been in any on The Escapist. So I'm not sure if I'll join yet but I'm strongly considering doing it. Character I'm thinking of is a Human Ex-Lone Star Street-Samurai with a minor in decking.

Anyway I wondering where this RP is taking place. What city it's in. Curious because if I do make a character it'll factor into their background and contacts.

@drmigit2: Someone does the DMSO squirt gun thing. Beautiful.

Just try not to let it get out of hand. Because all of your weapons are splash damage, I look forward to you taking out both the enemy and your own team in a torrent of DMSO. Also, the blacklisting of DocWagon clients should be changed- maybe rather than denying them service entirely, you could intercept them en route and have access to their location.

@Gabanuka: I received your PMs. My suggestion would be a more unique handle.

@Knight_Captain_Kerr: Seattle, most likely.

I suppose I could make that change. Wouldn't be too hard to find something else to replace it with.

It's a reference to Dorian Gray, the story of a man who never ages. I thought it was pretty fitting but I can change it if you want.

Name and/or Alias: Adam Guysome, known by the handle 'Spector'.

Age & Gender: Male, 26

Race: Human

Height & Weight: 140 lb, Six foot even.

Type: 'Hardcore' Decker (Basically, super-specialized into that set of skills almost completely)

Appearance: Adam is a very lanky, very rail-like man in the world outside the Matrix. That's not to say he's ugly, he's got soft and short black hair with alluring brown eyes, giving him a boyish charm. Despite his facial charm, he's not exactly muscular, due to his extended time not in the real world. The good news is he inherited a light farmer's tan from his parents, so he isn't pale as death.

Inside the Matrix, he takes two forms. 'Spector', his primary alias, sports a trench coat strapped with an oversized sniper rifle and two machetes. It looks absolutely ridiculous, and he plays up the ham for all it's worth. 'Spector' has a very angular face and facial hair that makes him look like a cartoon villain, furthering the silly image.

When it comes to business time, or he feels Spector isn't appropriate for the situation, he turns to a form closer to his real one. Instead of a trench coat and silly armaments, he appears dressed in a simple black suit with a red tie stylized like a dragon. At his side is the SMG he carries in the real world.

History: Adam was brought into the Guysome family just like most other humans. He lived in a rather affluent neighborhood, with the Guysome's operating a number of businesses that made sure they never had to worry about currency. Still, such an easy life made Adam somewhat...reckless. He was an only child in this particular branch of the family tree, so to say Adam was spoiled would not be totally inaccurate. He very quickly learned that being a brat was not how you got your way however, and with the help of the family's tutors he became the rich prince he was supposed to be.

But boys will be boys, and he got into some...stuff. Some guys from the academy he attended were going to get tattoos, some gang related and some for fun, but along the way they got it into their heads that they'd pick up some cyberware. Nothing crazy, just a datajack. And ear implants. And arms.

Adam watched with his shiny new datajack, and over the next few months his friends become addicted to augmentation. The good news is, the rich neighborhood ensured that the doctors knew what they were doing, so fatal accidents never happened. The bad news was the rich neighborhood ensured that the doctors knew what they were doing, so fatal accidents never happened, meaning that his friends ever realized when enough was enough.

Well, whatever. Maria, Daniel and Levi were keeping themselves restrained, so if the others wanted to zombify themselves then fuck'em. Maria was the girl of his dreams, a girl-next-door with an adorable pixie-cut. They spent many a night in the Matrix exploring the servers and programs inside, almost as much as they spent exploring each other. Daniel was his friend for as long as he could remember, helpful when you consider he was Maria's older brother. He was a tough son of a *****, getting some reinforcement for his right arm and some telescopic augments for his eyes. Levi was much more mild, in his choice of augments and personally. Not being related to ether boy, He was the medium between Daniel's stoicism and Adam's excitable nature. He got augments to his throat, being able to imitate any voice and, more importantly, sing beautifully.

...And zombify themselves they did. With the neighborhood's lazy families funding any kind of initiative in the kids, some of his colleges decided to become cyberzombies. This turned out to be the community downfall, when one of the kids' families took a turn for the financial worst after the operation. Not being able to afford the associated treatments, the kid went berserk and attacked Maria. He wounded her greatly with his augmented body, and she would require heavy augments to keep on living. After being able to transfer her to the Matrix briefly for one last conversation, Maria said that she would never be happy living like the creature that killed her. Respecting her last wishes, he let her go, knowing that she'd want him to move on.

After the kid managed to get other cyberzombies to riot, Renraku came in to clean up their hardware. But they couldn't let the bad PR leak, so...that was the end of the community. As far as Adam knows, Daniel is the only one left alive, having escaped with him.

Now, they share a apartment in Seattle, pricking in enough money to get by and then some. Adam's never-ending desire to make friends as well as his ridiculous Matrix Persona got him some attention, and soon the rich orphan became one hell of a decker, throwing basically his entire life into his new online career.

Reason to be here/things to do: Money is the driving goal, but he runs in the Matrix primarily because it's more fun than the real world. He'd never mention it to anyone, but he wants to one day retire, with a family in sights. Short term, he'd like some high-end cyber-eyes.

Personality: Adam is very excitable, which is hilarious when in his 'Spector' persona. He's very confidant and sarcastic, expecting his friends to shoot friendly insults at him as easy as he does. Maria's death shook him however, and women have a habit of making him insecure and...unpredictable.

Notable skills: Adam is very skilled at hacking and Matrix-based work. Expertly weaving control of programs and managing onboard systems, he's a very effective information gatherer despite his...easygoing personality.

Equipment: Daddy's Shiny Cyberdeck he bought him, kitted out with high end programs to make his boy's life easier. A high-quality Datajack has been implanted on his body.

Contacts: Daniel Jameson, Street Samurai- Daniel accompanies Adam some times as a type of bodyguard, but otherwise they move in different circles and rarely see each other, despite sharing an apartment.

Other: Adam has a major weakness to women of even moderate attractiveness, often catering to them to the point of white-knighting. He's a good guy, but he got really fucked up by his past.

See, I was actually thinking about Goda from Ghoat in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. You know... The guy with this theme...

...and the freaky face.

If you're going by looks that's not a bad comparison. If we're going by theme song I'd prefer something like this

No particular reason I just really like that track.

Gouda's such a dick.

Anyway here's my sheet, it's another human, can't get enough of them. Hope everything's in order if it isn't I'll change things.

Name and/or Alias: Name: Riley Roth. Alias: Geist

Age & Gender: 26 Female

Race: Human

Height & Weight: 5ft 11in/1.80m, 68kg/150 Pounds

Type: Street-Samurai/People Person with a minor in Decking.

Appearance: Black with shoulder length black hair. Has cybereyes with brown irises off the job and red irises when on it. A black datajack is visible on the back of her neck. Has a fit build, small breasts, taller than average but by no means a giant. Average looking, scar above right eye from falling as a child.

Matrix persona is of the classic portrayal of the death, a skeleton in a black cloak.

History: Riley and her 16 year old brother Jason were born to Peter and Lisa Roth in Seattle. Peter and Lisa met when they were both working for Renraku in office work. Riley grew up in a middle income family, they had enough to get by but weren't rolling in money. When Riley turned 19 she became a Lone Star police officer and eventually worked her way up from patrol officer to a sergeant in the Department of Robbery. Before she joined Lone Star the only cyberware she had was a Datajack but during her time there she received Cybereyes, Smartlink and Plastic Bone Lacing. She made a number of contacts in the police force including Alexander Brown a dwarf, fellow sergeant in the Department of Robbery and friend. She also made a few contacts in the underworld the most important of which was an Elven fixer named Nathan Murray who she never tried to arrest and rather just paid legitimately for information.

Three years ago when traveling home Peter and Lisa were in a car accident which cost Lisa her life and Peter one of his legs, which he had replaced by Cyberware. Due to his injuries Peter wasn't able to work for a while and lost his job at Renraku. While he was able to get a job at a computer maintenance store it wasn't enough to provide for himself and Jason so Riley found herself having to help chip in. Ten months ago she was investigating a robbery at a convenience store and tracked down the group responsible, three humans in their late teens who assaulted the Metahuman owner and robbed the store after he tried to kick them out for general rowdiness. A firefight occurred when she tried to arrest the robbers, one was killed and the other two were arrested. The one who was killed however was the son of a Lone Star executive. Despite them shooting first Riley was fired for "unnecessary use of deadly force." She and most other people at Lone Star knew it was actually the executive getting revenge for his son's death. After a few weeks with no job Riley was contacted by Nathan Murray, he'd heard what happened to her from his sources and offered to set her up with jobs, legal and illegal. Riley didn't see any other options available to her and with a need to provide for herself and her family she took him up on his offer and got started in Shadowrunning.

Reason to be here/things to do: After being fired from Lone Star Riley now takes jobs legal and illegal in order to provide for herself and her family.

Personality: Riley is one of those criminals with morals. She joined Lone Star out of a genuine desire to help people but quickly became disillusioned when she realised they were there to serve the interests of Lone Star executives. While she has grown disillusioned with the current system she can be quite idealistic. The well-being of her family matters greatly to her. She has no problem robbing MegaCorporations or killing 'bad guys' but does have an issue with killing innocent people which is why she still carries a stun gun. Riley is often kind and is better at playing the 'good cop' than the 'bad cop' but like anyone she's multifaceted, she'll be in a humorous or serious mood depending on the circumstances.

Notable skills:
Persuasion and Deception - Riley's always had a way with words but her time with Lone Star honed her persuasive and deceptive skills and she's quite good at talking to people and getting what she wants or getting them to believe her lies. She's a better 'good cop' than 'bad cop' and is much better at persuasion and deception than she is at intimidating people.

Rifles - In her time at Lone Star Riley trained in the use of various Rifles. Single Fire, Assault Rifles and even has some training in the use of Sniper Rifles. Her cyberware helps increase her natural skill and accuracy.

Handguns - Riley also trained in using Handguns at Lone Star, Pistols, Revolvers and Stun Guns. Like with Rifles her cyberware increases her natural skill and accuracy.

Throwing - Lone Star training has also made her decent at using grenades but isn't very knowledgeable with explosives as a whole. Having her try disarm a bomb wouldn't turn out well.

Decking - Riley is a good decker but not a great one. She can handle herself but there are people out there who are far better.

Language: Fluent in English and German.

Driving - Riley can competently pilot a car, van, bicycle and motorbike. However she wouldn't be much use when piloting a HGV, aircraft or watercraft.

Knowledge of Police and Security Procedure. - Her time at Lone Star has given her inside knowledge of Police and Security Procedure.

Athletic - Good at running, climbing, jumping, swimming that sort of thing.

Unarmed - Has some unarmed training from time in Lone Star, is competent but not great.

Perceptive - Her Cybereyes and experience as a police investigator means she notices and picks up on things others will miss.

Equipment: Cyberware - Black Datajack, Cybereyes (with night-vision, thermal vision, vision magnification, camera/video recorder, compensates for bright lights, can change iris colour and augmented reality vision), Smartlink and Plastic Bone Lacing.

Outfit - Wears black cargo jacket, grey long sleeved t-shirt, black Kevlar vest, dark grey jeans and black combat boots. Has balaclava and gloves in coat pocket.

Weapons - Smartlinked Ares Predator Heavy Pistol, Smartlinked Colt M23 Assault Rifle and Stun Gun that has to be reloaded after every shot. Has ammo for all of these. Holsters for both handguns under jacket and the rifle has a sling.

Other - Black backpack, Renraku Kraftwek-1 Cyberdeck, Sony Emperor Commlink, Dark Blue 5 Seater Sedan, Small single bedroom apartment, Basic Service DocWagon subscription, 5000 Nuyen, Fake SIN that Nathan set her up with.

Contacts: Has several contacts in Lone Star and a couple in the Seattle underworld. Her main contacts are:

Alexander Brown: Lone Star Sergeant in the Department of Robbery. Male Dwarf in his early 30's, white with short brown hair, blue eyes and light stubble. Riley worked with him for years and they consider each other friends. If push comes to shove she can contact him for information as a favour and while they are friends he's likely to ask for compensation if giving her the information is a risk, he is married and he and his wife are planning on having children so he can't afford to lose his job.

Nathan Murray: Fixer. Male Elf in his late 20's, white with long blond hair, green eyes and clean shaven. Nathan provided Riley with information in exchange for payment back when she worked for Lone Star, after she lost her job he contacted her offering to set her up with work. Nathan is a general fixer, he can get you information, work, runners, fake SIN, weapons, equipment, Streetdocs, he's a one stop shop for Shadowrunners. He's a man of his word but he keeps the relationships with clients strictly a business one, Nuyen for resources, he doesn't let his personal feelings get in the way of that.

Jason Roth: While she would never consider involving him in a job Riley's 16 year old brother is quite a skilled mage. He has shaved black hair and brown eyes. He's the only awakened member of his family and lives with their father. Since his mother's death he has started to fall in with a bad crowd and hangs out with local hoodlums his age. Riley thinks he might have joined a local gang and worries he'll get involved in the same kind of life as her.

Other: Irreligious. Is all for getting more Cyberware in the future. Her younger brother is likely getting involved with a local gang. Got into Shadowrunning to provide for herself and her family, would be happy making enough money to retire from it or finding secure long term employment that provides enough money.

If you'll take some feedback from another player I'd say she doesn't lend herself brilliantly to Running, it depends what the group is being hired for.

Shadowrunners are criminals no matter how you look at it, Robin is looking more like a vigilante. It'll only be an issue if Asclepion has us be real criminals rather than morally ambiguous heroes.

Your call, if you were going for moral dilemmas and stuff it makes sense.
