I started listening to Kris Straub and Mikey Neumann's podcast a few days ago. Just picking out ones that seem interesting. The base of the show is straight-laced humor where they crack jokes.

Kris and Mikey also discuss topics in pop culture or take questions that are emailed to them. It's thought out and feels honest. Plus Kris has the voice of a reassuring angel.

Episode 35 probably has the most heated conversations.

I'm a huge fan of The Nerdist Podcast [http://podbay.fm/show/355187485], hosted by comedian Chris Hardwick.

He covers a wide range of topics, but I was especially impressed when I found two hour-long podcasts with none other than Gabe Newell. These date back to January 2013 and at the tail end of one of the sessions, somebody asked Gabe about the "controller" they got to see in the R&D area of Valve. It turns out they were talking about the Steam controller a full nine months before Valve unveiled it to the world. I think it's pretty cool that GabeN sat down to just chat for two whole hours (separate days). Also, I had no idea he was a MLP fan.

Nerdist Podcast, Gabe Newell: Valve - The Company [http://podbay.fm/show/355187485/e/1357902496?autostart=1]
Nerdist Podcast, Gabe Newell: Valve - The Games [http://podbay.fm/show/355187485/e/1357901707?autostart=1]

The Nerdist is also host to a ton of other podcasts [http://www.nerdist.com/podcasts/], some of my favorites being You Made it Weird [http://www.nerdist.com/podcast/you-made-it-weird/] and Alton Brown's podcast [http://www.nerdist.com/podcast/the-browncast/].

I also love Jackie Kashian's The Dork Forest [http://allthingscomedy.com/channels/18/the-dork-forest], where her guests get to talk about whatever their 'dorkdom' is. There's over 200 different subjects to choose from.

Other favorites include WTF With Marc Maron [http://www.wtfpod.com/podcast], Doug Loves Movies [http://dlm.libsyn.com/], and my all-time sentimental favorite, Professor Blastoff [http://professorblastoff.com/].

I'd recomend:

Empire magazine podcast, which is a movie podcast which often has great interviews.
videogamer uk podcast, a great gaming podcast with guys who have work throught out the industry, for journalism, marketing. and QA.
Regular features, a comedy podcast, very funny and very explicit

My personal favorite is The Dismal Jesters [http://dismaljesters.libsyn.com/], hosted by our very own Jim Sterling. It's not for everyone, but if you have a crude sense of humor you'll love it.

I've been working my way through the How Did This Get Made? archives recently, and it's pretty excellent. For the unaware, they watch the worst movies around and then bring in a guest to discuss why in God's name the movie exists.

Beyond that, I listen to The Nerdist/The Indoor Kids and Rooster Teeth for general entertainment, and The Dice Tower because it's a good one-stop place for all my board game news and recommendations.

I don't think "crude" quite does it justice. I humbly submit this quote as an alternative description:

"That which does not kill us makes us stronger."

Podcast? I don't know the meaning of them word. However, I can recommend a SModcast! All sorts of variety there, in case you're not a direct Kev Smith fan. I personally only ever both with SModcast and Tell 'Em Steve-Dave! anymore.

The best ones are Co-optional (Still think that's the worst name ever though)and Bombcast.
Comedy Button if you like a bunch of 30 year old nerds complaining about how old they think they are.
If you want an insanely long podcast, PKA (Painkiller Allready (Fuck knows what that name means)). Its 4 hours every week.
The new Podtoid is good, even though it has Andy Dixon who never even speaks and they should just permanently replace him with Kate.
Rooster Teeth's normal podcast is pretty good but their gaming one is kinda casual and a bit behind the times sometimes and for some unexplained reason they always have to end it after exactly an hour even if they are in the middle of something.
Dismal Jesters can be genuinely funny sometimes but it goes though slumps where Jim drags the same joke on way too long and just gets boring.

The GiantBombcast.
Doesn't matter which one you choose to listen to, if you want to. It's all good. Mix of video game discussion and general life. Though I think the podcasts where Vinny is present are the best, the guy always has me laughing.

There's a few I listen to, although I have been slacking in my podcast listening recently.

There's The Dismal Jesters (formerly Podtoid, when Jim still worked at Destructoid), with our very own Jim Sterling, along with Conrad Zimmerman and Jonathan Holmes.

Then there's the Co-optional Podcast (formerly The Game Station Podcast) featuring (most weeks, anyway) Totalbiscuit, Dodger, Jesse Cox and a guest (which has been Jim Sterling in the past). The show also has a theme made by our own Miracle Of Sound, and while I haven't heard it used on the show yet, I still think it's worth a listen [http://miracleofsound.bandcamp.com/track/co-optional-theme]. Gav's songs also get quite a bit of airtime during the breaks when watching it live which is always nice to hear.

Thirdly there's the Escapist Podcast (I refuse to call it Podcat!), which coincidentally, Jim has also been on (I swear, I don't just listen to a podcast because Jim does it, although it does help).

And finally, there's the Escapist userbase's very own CommuniCast [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/CommuniCast-FailCast], which I only listen to because I came up with the name for it

I just started listening to a podcast called "idle thumbs" ... it had a kickstarter and came back, apparently.

It is actually a group of guys who make games, not some small time game makers either ... "It features a weekly video game podcast hosted by video game developers Chris Remo of Double Fine Productions, Nick Breckon of Telltale Games, and Jake Rodkin and Sean Vanaman of Campo Santo, formerly of Telltale Games"

It is a very game orientated podcast, from guys who know some shit!

I think the only downside to the podcast is they read out emails (giantbomb style) and more often than not the emails drag on ... sometimes they are interesting but others are a drag. One interesting email was about buying and selling unique items on steam (like how you buy one game and get unique items in TF2) ... I forget the exact figures but some guy spent something like $20,000 on stuff and made $26,000 profit, so doubled his money, plus some.

The Weekly Planet - It's the official podcast of ComicBookMovies.com and just two geeky guys talking about the news on any comic book movie coming out as well as other movies. They love comics also

SchmoesKnow Podcast - Once they come back from their break, they have plenty of movie news from each genre and even TV news. They are friends with Jeremy Jahns, Stuckman, FlickPics and even get producers and directors and writers in to talk about how they got into the business and any wild stories.

I listen to 4 podcasts on constant basis
1)Escapists very own Podcat. It's fun, entertaining, informative and has this... family feel I'd say.
2)Dismal Jesters by our one and only Jim Sterling. It's fun, crazy and full of chungus. Listen to it!
3)Co-optional podcast by TB, Jesse and Dodger. It's not as funny as previous two but it's still very good.
4)All Work no Play. A podcast by voice actors Liam O'Brien and Sam Riegel. It's fun, very unfocused and comes out maybe once every three months. I mainly listen to it because I really enjoy Liam's voice
