After nearly a year of being forced into a half-assed "hybrid" schedule for my job, it has officially come done from leadership, as they're assessing and shoring up responsibilities following a significant merger, that my role has been designated as REMOTE!! As of the end of he summer, I'll no longer be required to go into the office unless for very specific and necessary reasons. I was hybrid, going in 2 days a week, but going forward "hybrid" means a minimum 3 days a week, and they told us all to anticipate being hybrid, so I was resigned to that potential, but my new boss confirmed, I'm one of the few "remote" exceptions. I'm so fucking happy. Job still sucks, but at least now I won't be burning up gas and putting miles on my car to do the same solitary job there that I do just as well (if not better) here.
A lot of people will say "he saved that deer!" but I think "now that snake's gonna starve".
