My 160GB iPod broke, so now I have to use my backup MP3 player which holds less than 1GB. This is a disaster.

So far I've had no luck at finding a job. Got to hang in there though. But my true first world problem is that I have all these games but I don't know what one to play so I just end up on League of Legends anyway.

Also the crumpets in my cupboard are out of date. Won't somebody please think of the crumpets?!

I guess my problem is that it bugs me how people categorise between a "first world" and a "third world". In how it assumes people who live in wealthier countries aren't entitled to have their own grievances, how it assumes that people in poorer countries won't have similar grievances and how it implies that development is black and white like that.
No, first-world countries can have actual problems (being dragged to court and being sued because you spilled coffee on someone is an actually serious problem that typically only happens in first-world countries).

"First world problems" was SUPPOSED to reference people who claim their "day is ruined" because they dropped their soda or couldn't find bean sprouts in the fridge or got a Mercedes in the wrong shade of pink. It got hijacked by the internet and made into a "quit whining about things" shortcut, because that's what the internet does.

See EeveeElectro's posts for a good example of what First World Problems are supposed to be.

When I was much younger, I grew up using dial-up for many years. The connection wasn't excruciatingly slow, but anytime someone made a call, anything I was doing was now lost.

I now have a broadband connection. Even waiting two seconds for a webpage to load up will make me rage.

You're... you're not reading my first reply to you, are you? Or are you misunderstanding it, or reading things into it I never intended to have there?

I bought Lego Pirates of the Caribbean but have to wait for it to come in the mail. Also I can't go to cigar store until tomorrow.

I've read your first reply and I don't see how it relates to what I said.
I agree that people whine about things, and that it's funny to take the piss out of that.

My objection is just against the whole premise of guilt built around it and the assumption that people in these countries will always have it better.

Ah.

I don't think #firstworldproblems was ever supposed to be about guilt, that's just what it's become because the internet likes misunderstanding things. That's what I was trying to get across.

I put soap on my hands, and then put my hands under the motion sensor of the restroom faucet. AND NO WATER CAME OUT!

I have 130 games on my steam account and I don't want to play any of them.

I wake up 6 hours before I start work and I can't decide whether to read or play Tales of Graces f. So I sit on The Escapist or /b/ for 6hours instead of reading or playing.

I want to listen to music while sleeping, but headsets suck for sleeping.

I have a huge amount of music in my music library, but nothing I want to listen to.

I have an awesome stereo that I just upgraded, but very little time to use it. I also have a stack of unplayed videogames that would be at least chest height if the Steam games were in physical boxes. Can I be 12 again? Or even 18? I miss having free time.
Lucky you! I'm 19 and have absolutely no free time. Stuck between work and reading for exams.

Not enought free time. So many hobbies and games and I can play only few. And I'll probably never have enough time to play World of Warcraft again.

I bought a CRT TV to play non-HD games on, and I wanted to plug my PS2 and Wii into it. It has a scart input and a composite input, but only one works at a time. So if I want to play my PS2 when I'm playing my Wii or vice-versa then I have to swap the composite cables. Along with the terrible, grueling activity it also makes my setup look messy since I always have a composite cable hanging freely in front of the TV.

We live in terrible times.

Mr. Knack has already stated it but I suppose I should since it is my thread...

"First World Problems" is a tongue in cheek complaint. We're not here to feel guilty about our problems; we're here to poke fun at ourselves for complaining about little things that really don't matter all that much in the grand scheme of things. They can certainly be legit problems but sometimes you just have to laugh at yourself.
