My first system ever was an Atari
Then I had an MSX. So many great memories!
Then I got an Amiga 500 and was simply astonished by the amazing graphics, great stereo sound and the sheer creativity of the games.
I've been PC gaming since 1992.

My first console was a Game Boy Advanced... SP. Yeeeaaah, I started pretty late. :p

Then I got a Gamecube.
Then I got a Wii.
Then I got a DS Lite.
Then I got an XBox 360.
Then... that's about it.

Yeah, compared to everyone else, this is a lackluster history of consoles. :S

in order of apperance in my life.

1 - Sega Megadrive - was my dads but i began to play it more then him. got sonic 1 - 3 & knuckles, along with Chakan, universal soldier, Kid Chameleon and a few others.

2 - PS1 - first console i of my own from my 7th birthday, the classic edition before the analog controllers. got Tomb Raider 1 - 2, Mortal Kombat Trilogy, Abe's oddesay along with a few others.

3 - 1st PC - also got on my 7th birthday but it was a "for everyone" present. first games were the depths of doom trilogy, Earthworm Jim, Pitfall, Little Big Adventure and a 15 game collection that included Street fighter 2.

4 - Gameboy Colour (yellow) - got Pokemon yellow for it as well, still works but the pokemon yellow cartridge battery has died so i lost my childhood D:

5 - 1st PS2 - got it on christmas 2000, along with Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 2. i may have gotten other games for it but i don't remember (SR2 was just that good).

7 - 2nd PS2 - got it i think two years after my first (first one broke, never knew how). my sister got one too, both were the limited silver ps2s.

6 - Xbox - got the small controller edition, along with halo 2 and fable - the lost chapters.

7 - 3rd computer - can't remember what happened to the 2nd, played a lot of RPGs and shooters on it.

8 - gamecube - for £30 along with melee and wind waker, played the hell out of smash bros but couldn't get into wind waker. got MGS: twin snakes too, wasn't a bad game just went a bit over the top with the cutscenes.

9 - Wii - only console i have sold, just weren't anything worth my time on it. never was a mario fan so they were out of the question. got Red Steel and wii sports for first few months, then got smash bros, Dragon Ball Z budokai Tenkaichi 2 and 3 (only two games i regret selling).

10 - 4th PC (current) - got it for my 18th birthday, along with Battlefield 2142. now playing minecraft, DOW2 (and expansions) and Starcraft 2 (weren't as good as the first). not much of a PC gamer, but i save strategies for it though.

10 - 1st xbox 360 - got that in 2007 when halo 3 was released, it died about 9 months later as i got a new one out of warranty.

11 - 2nd xbox 360 - as stated got it nine months after the 1st one, had to get it fixed once (stopped reading discs) but worked until i needed more HDD space so i got an Elite.

13 - DS Lite - got it along with Pokemon Diamond (two of my friends had Pearl and diamond), got mario Kart and Resident evil 1.

14 - PSP 3000 - got it 2nd hand for £90 along with MGS: portable ops and DarkStalkers.

15 - N64 - for £20 along with pokemon stadium 2, perfect dark and golden eye.

16 - SNES - got it for £15, along with super mario world.

17 - Gameboy Advance - over a summer we decided to play Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, so i bought a GBA for £5, no games for it though but i'm looking for the best deal one of the 3rd Gen pokemon games.

18 - Xbox 360 Elite - got it as i needed the memory but didn't want to fork for the HDD alone in case the second spluttered again.

19 - PS3 - 60gig fatty, on boxing day sale along with MGS4: Guns of the Patriots and Little Big Planet.

and for the time being thats it, if you count borrowed platforms then i had the Sega Master system for a while until my friend wanted it back to have a retro binge.

NES / SNES / Megadrive (genesis) / N64 / Gamecube [Borrowed] / Ps1 [5-or-so original+slim version+Gun controller] / Ps2 [Regular + Slim] / Xbox [borrowed] / Xbox 360 / Shared Wii / PC [owned about 3 to myself, 2 shared] / Gameboy [1 b&w] / Gameboy Colour [blue + a pokemon version] / Gameboy Advance / Nintendo DS Lite

Not in that order. Played other consoles, but these are the ones i had in my possession for a reasonable amount of time.
Mostly PC Gamer now. Looking to buy a new console, but since coming to uni have found myself without the money for it. Thank god for steam sales or i probably would be able to get new games either lol.

1) I was too young for me to completely remember, but I know it was a black Sega console that took discs. So presumably the Sega Saturn. I think.
?) I remember having a N64 in the house at some point in my early childhood, but I'm not sure if it was actually ours or if my brother borrowed it from someone.
2) PS1
3) PS2
4) Xbox
5) Gamecube (It was my sister's but I was really the only one who played it)
6) NDS
7) Xbox 360
8) GBA-SP
9) PS3

0 - Old family computer - Not "mine", per se, but it was used by the whole family and served my first gaming experience. Sierra games and shareware like Commander Keen, mostly. We still have this stashed away in the basement, unless I'm mistaken.

1 - N64 - First personal console. Had a demo experience with Star Wars Episode 1 Racer, loved it, and soon got my own (prepackaged with the inspiring game) soon afterwards. It's currently unplugged, though it's lovingly tucked into a corner of my gaming station in a special plastic array (specifically designed for N64s) for whenever I get the urge to finally play it again.

2 - Gamecube - I got the N64 in its waning days, so after the console and its games were discontinued, they replaced it with the newest Nintendo console. I still have it plugged in, though I don't really play it anymore.

3 - Computer #1 - My first computer, which gradually got upgraded over the years until I got a replacement. I converted this old one into a planned "college" computer... which I never ended up using. It now gathers dust in my so-called "study." Thinking of maybe using it for some of the older games my new rig can't handle.

4 - Gameboy Advance SP - My first handheld. Lasted me until I got my DS, and since that could play GBA games, I didn't need this anymore. Gave it away as a present.

5 - Nintendo DS - The old fat model and usurper of my GBA SP. Don't play it that often, but I still use it.

6 - Nintendo Wii - When the next console war began, I sided with Nintendo... at the time. After a few years, I lost interest with the console and turned my back on the company. It's technically a family console now and is in the living room instead of my gaming basement, and while my mom and aunt have some interest in it, I haven't seen them use it in a long time.

7 - Computer #2 - I can't remember when exactly I got a new computer, but I think it was around this time. This is my current computer, gradually upgraded over the years and continues to serve me well.

8 - PS2 Slim - My brother owned the family PS2, and when he moved out of the house, I bought my own to play the games that were technically mine. I still have it plugged in and play it every so often.

9 - PS3 #1 - After I completely lost interest in Nintendo, I got a PS3 for my birthday. It suffered a hard drive failure after a week, resulting in a free replacement thanks to warranty.

10 - PS3 #2 - My replacement to the above and my main console ever since.

I grew up on the Nintendo systems. I PLAYED all the other systems, and have plenty of memories (Some of my best memories are playing this old Star Wars game on the PS1 with a friend who lived across the street, and my cousins who I frequently visited and often spent the night with had a PS2.) but I've only owned Nintendo systems.

1: SNES. This is what I grew up with and what most of my gaming memories were formed.
2: N64. I got this pretty late into the system's lifespan, but I rented tons and tons of games for it
3: Gameboy Color. It actually belonged my mother, which she bought so she could play Tetris. She let me and my brother play with it when Pokemon came out.
4: Gameboy Advance. The first ever system I got on launch day! Or at least very close to it.
5: Gamecube. In my opinion the best gaming console ever. Great titles all around. The memory of waking up Christmas morning to see the system hooked up to the TV with Super Smash Bros Melee on the screen is one of the happiest moments of my childhood.
6: DS/DS Lite. Got the DS, and when the Lite came out, I gave the old one to my sister and upgraded to the new model.
7: Wii. The first ever system I ever bought with my own money. And it was not easy to find. It started off as my main system, and still gets tons of use, but for the past couple years since getting my own bank account, it's been used as a retro-gaming machine. It hasn't let me down and I got to play dozens of games I missed. There's also Skyward Sword, Rayman Origins and Xenoblade Chronicles coming for it, so I've been dusting off that old Wii-mote recently.
8: Playstation 3. Well, my brother bought it, but he lends it to me all the time, and I did help him pay for it.
9: I've recently started gaming on my PC when I got to college, but I use a laptop because of convenience, so I can barely run TF2 on medium settings. But getting older games like Hitman or simple games like Plants vs Zombies have been great.
10: 3DS. Recently got it, and between my constant walking around and bus rides as well as my friends recommending me DS games I missed out on, it's easily my most used game system right now.

Lets see here, this will be tough to remember all of them.
1. NES(I owned several of these over the years, they kept breaking.)
2. SNES
3. PC(Upgraded and bought new ones over the year, still have a very beastly gaming rig)
4. Gameboy
5. Sega Genesis
6. Gameboy Color
7. Nintendo 64
8. Dreamcast
9. Playstation
10. Odyssey II(Way late, I know)
11. Gamecube
12. Playstation 2
I think that is it, I am probably missing some minor systems here and there. As it stands, the only system I still own is my PC. All my games have long since been sold or given away also. Sad, I know, but I just didn't have the space for them all over the years. It is only now that I do, but they are already gone.

Ahhhh, memories! So gratifying to look back on these things...

My very first system was the original Nintendo, since I don't count the Atari 2600 as it belonged to my cousin and I only had the chance to play it rather infrequently. I never had a Super Nintendo because I got a Sega Genesis, which was fucking awesome. Man, I loved that thing. I also had a Gameboy and Gamegear, and eventually got a Gameboy color for a little while. Also, I don't think the 32X counts as a new system, but I did get that as well.

After that era, I got an N64, followed by a Dreamcast. I'll never forget my early days with the Dreamcast. I got a Playstation 2 some time after most people acquired one. My first console from this generation was a 360, but I eventually acquired all three of the major consoles, as well as a PSP.

And that's where things stand today.

Question for all of you: It's fun reading about others' histories with consoles. Did any of you have that one friend that always got every single console as soon as it came out? Or, better yet, were YOU that friend? I had one friend like that. When I say he got every damn thing, I mean it: the kid had a fucking Neo-Geo! A NEO-FUCKING-GEO!!!!

Seriously, it still amazes me. A Neo-Geo! I've never met another person who had one at any point in their life.

Windows 3.1
Awesome, it had the first two duke nukems on it and it also had Commander Keen (forgot which ones) and a few other games I cannot remember

Sega Genesis
Sonic 1-3, all good, Sega 6 pack came with Golden Ax and Shinobi.

Sega Nomad

Windows 98

Gamecube
SSB

PS1/Ps2 (while they lived lived)
Driver 1&2, but the system was used so it died and took my game with it :(

Nintendo DS, original weird silver thing.
I like it, but its a weird shape for a handheld. Lotsa homebrew stuff and of course Animal Crossing froths at mouth*

Built a Quad core 2 summers ago and its still going strong. Contemplating 6 core upgrade next summer

I started with a Gameboy Brick (Those big-ass Gameboys that could take out a Truck if you dropped it), then had a Super Nintendo and a Sega Megadrive. I then got a Gameboy Advance, a Gamecube and a gaming Laptop. Finally, in the last few years of Platform Purchasing I got a Gameboy Advanced SP, Nintendo DS, Nintendo DS Lite, Wii, X-Box 360, Playstation 2 and a stronger Gaming Laptop.

Besides the Sega, all the older systems have stopped working, which is kinda sad - thankfully the Super Nintendo has half-a-billion emulators, and all the awesome games are getting re-released on DS (Chrono Trigger and the Final Fantasies)
God I miss the brick...
Why did I ever give it back to my cousin lol

I've owned a fair few and am in the process of trying to get them back as well as the ones I missed out on. Anyway, back to the past:

NES (Dad's console, sold at some point. Part of soon-to-be-mentioned 3-in-1 console)
SNES (more mine than parents but not 100% mine. Sold at some point but now have 2 and a half [one here, one with my lovie and, one 3-in-1 console also at home with my lovie])
Genesis (more my step-Dad's than mine but still got to play it. Part of 3-in-1 console)
Gameboy Pocket (100% mine. Sold at some point)
PC (Duke Nukem 3D and Final Fantasy VII. My current PC is only capable of playing flash games)
Playstation (family console, more step-dad's than mine and never lived in my room. Sold at some point. Currently play PSX games on my PS2)
N64 (More Dad's than mine, it still lives with him even though he got it for me as an X-Mas gift. Still had great times will it. Currently have one in my room and another in GA with my lovie)
Gameboy Color (sold at some point)
Playstation 2 (more of a family console than mine. Inherited by my younger brother but I got my Dad's old slim)
Xbox (lost after a move. My sister has one but wants to keep it for some reason...not that it matters since my brother got it from her. Need to get a new one if I can't get that one back)
Gameboy Advance (still have it somewhere. Got an SP down the line too)
Nintendo DS lite (still have, also have DSi)
PSP (still have but it's down south. Great for imports)
Dreamcast (I loved it but I have no idea what happened to it. I want it back but have no clue where to start looking. I want it back *cries*)
Xbox 360 (1st one died, was repaired, died again. Got another before the Elite killed the original and my lovie has an S)
Playstation 3 (bought a slim and it hasn't died...but that's probably because it's the designated blu-ray player living down south with my GF)
Wii (more of a family console than mine...but there's one down south and what is mine is my lovies in vice-versa)
Nintendo 3DS (Only have 2 games on it (not counting DLC ones). Haven't beaten Ocarina yet but I beat the hell out of Punchtime Explosion in 3 days. Getting Marvel Super Hero Squad next)

lets go with what i remember (two brothers, one 12 years older than me, so i have been exposed to games since forever)

nintendo(maybe)
super nintendo (still got it)
game boy color (still got it)
Nintendo 64 (stll got it)
Playstation (still got it, i think)
Game Boy Advanced (still got it)
Playstation 2 (still got it)
Xbox (still got it, never use it)
DS (still got it)
Xbox 360 (still got it)
Wii (still got it)

and all the while i have had access to some kind of gaming PC, from a windows 95, to a 98, to an xp, to the one i am currently on. While i can't necessarily name when transitions happened, suffice it to say i have been playing on computers collectively more than consoles.

2. Commodore Vic 20, owned concurrently with the above
I so can't be bothered to list everything of my own, but you get an Internet high five for that. I almost never run into anyone else who even remembers what the hell that thing was, because it was completely overshadowed by the C64. I still have my VIC-20 (and I even have the necessary adapters to hook it up to my monitor). I bet the cassettes are probably all dead at this point, but it still worked fine otherwise the last time I pulled it out a few years ago.
