Any opinions?

I just bought it and I'm kinda sad that the online community is pretty dead. The game is really unique and has awesome atmosphere/gameplay. Do you guys think there's any chance of it being re-ignited?

Here's some gameplay I've found, if you're interested:

I remember trying this on one of their free weekends. It was a pretty cool experience to say the least, but my computer couldn't handle it due to a low-end graphics card. That and the lack of diversity in weaponry really weakened the overall game.

Whether it gets going again depends on the community and the developers. There's a lot of potential in it, but as of now, it's hit a dead end.

Why are there sounds in space?

I'd love to play it, and I was very interested when it came out but I didn't have a gfx card to run it then, and the last multiplayer indie game I got died immensely quickly so I don't really pick them up often any more even though I'm really interested in a few (Nuclear Dawn for example).

Really doubt it would come back to life, although I wish it would.

The sounds are artificially created by the suit if I remember correctly.

OT; I've always been interested in the game but the knowledge that he online community is dead has kept me away.

Maybe its self induced negative everyone knows it has no multiplayer so no one buys it so it doesn't have a multiplayer.

I bought shattered horizon a year or so back, and had a lot of fun with it. I've yet to play a game with actual players, but the bots do a decent job and put enough pressure on the player. When it was released it had pretty demanding hardware requirements, which cut a lot of people out. And the firepower patch seemed to split the fanbase a bit. It's a shame that this game has no community anymore, as it's quite unique and the levels and sound design create a nice atmosphere. But It's very unlikely to gain any new popularity, and the developers would have no reason to believe a re-release or something similar would sell well.

Wow, a spacewalk FPS. Looks pretty cool. Devin Townsend fits well with it too. Is there a single player campaign of any kind?

The sounds are simulated (like someone else already said) and you can turn them off if you want. There is also this wich is pretty cool.

Looking back, I think this game was ahead of its time. Very innovative, but also very limited. Still a great shame seeing it die out.

That's actually one really cool part. The sounds are simulated by your suit, so when you power down and just glide along all you can hear is the sound of your own breathing, nothing more.

OT: It was a really cool game with some interesting ideas, but I just couldn't get it to run in a stable enough way to play it much. Plus the maps were kind of samey yet confusing, the constant shifts in orientation were rather hazardous.

Overall a great game from a technical standpoint but not really that much lasting power.

I own the game and it's pretty interesting, very unique, and extremely impressive for an indie title. It has a lot of polish and some pretty great ideas. Sadly, it's also a very difficult game with a steep learning curve and a pretty unforgiving control scheme, meaning that a lot of people just won't like it right off the bat. That combined with the fact that there's been so little advertising sadly means that it'll never really be a popular game, and each year the community for it gets a little smaller, and is pretty much nonexistent at this point. It's a shame really because everyone who keeps screaming about a lack of innovation in FPS should really check this game out.

It was an amazing game and one I loved dearly. However it was ruined when whey listened to all the fools wanting more weapons. After that update I stopped playing. Bullshit shotguns and SMGs all over the place.

When it was just the one gun, it was a true test of skill and ability to exploit the free motion. Damn people with no attention span ruined it.
