There are also 3rd party developers that do well under Nintendo's umbrella. Prime from Retro is a good example, obviously...and it's been so long since another great 3rd party Nintendo game that I can't come up with any more examples. I'd say Pal Laboratories, but I think they're owned by Nintendo.
Actually, Retro is a First Party Nintendo Studio, and their only American First Party studio. They aren't a third party that just happens to love Nintendo, they are completely owned and are a part of the Nintendo Corp. HAL Laboratories (not Pal) is one of Nintendo's Japanese First Parties, and is responsible for the Kirby and Smash Bros. Series.

Even thought the games have always looked good, and go at really fast speeds, the sad truth is that F-Zero often isn't that fun to play. It often feels very limited, even with the crazy courses in some games i.e. the N64 and Cube games.

I've had some enjoyment out of them, but they're seriously outmatched by the likes of Wipeout.

But, you know what Nintendo could do? Is make a whole different racing IP?

You mean like how Sega spent so much time and effort making those great DLC stages for Generations like Ice Cap? Or Launch Base!

Or how about that Death Egg reimagining! That was amazing! And the remixed music was top notch too.

Oh, thanks. I'll do the research first next time before assuming anything. I don't know why I keep calling them Pal either. It's not the first time I've made the mistake.

Couple of things:
1) It's HAL Laboratories. As in HAL 9000. Also, all the developers you mentioned are 2nd party, i.e. owned by Nintendo.
2) Other M was completely Nintendo's fault. Team Ninja was just the scapegoat, they figured if the game bombed or people were criticizing it for being overly sexist or misogynistic, then they could just pin it on a studio known for being completely sexist and misogynistic. As for the gameplay, if Nintendo didn't like what they saw (and seeing as they wrote the story they probably had overall control on the direction of the project), they could've just vetoed it. They didn't.
1) My mistake. I've had a habit of calling them Pal instead of Hal for a while now. I really need to correct that. : / And now I know that they're 1st party Nintendo as opposed to a third party. Again, I'll research more before just assuming from this point onward.
2) There's always some disconnect in projects. I do agree that Nintendo could've vetoed the game based on the gameplay portion, but that would've meant pushing deadlines further back as well.

They've had thoughts, nothing set in stone though

I'm...kind of okay with this. This is why Squeenix has 2 FFXIII sequels: because they just felt like they had to release something and went all "DURR let's just push out a mediocre game and call it a sequel cause that's what people want (In Japan, apparently)". But hey, if the next game is gonna be a disappointment or if its just going to be mediocre, then let it be. You don't have to publish a sequel ever year just to please fans.

I'm looking right at you, AC and CoD.

Didn't Miyamoto once say 'A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad'? Nintendo seem to be forgetting their own philosophy.
So you're taking the guy who called Hal Laboratories Pal Laboratories on face value? Ha ha, I'm honored you trust me so much after that dumb mistake.
I had wanted to talk more on the disconnect than the deadline, though. You're right as far as the deadline thing is concerned, but that was me speculating more than me reading from a list of everything that made Other M an abomination.
Whenever something is being made between two people (nonetheless two companies), there is always a level of disconnect that leads to problems. This is more prevalent in comics than games (writers want one thing, but artists read it differently), but Other M seemed to have all the problems that products suffering from said disconnection have.
Then again, those problems aren't so bad as compared to the atrocious writing that's prevalent throughout the entire game. Even a game with poor gameplay can be forgiven if it has an alright story. Besides, from what I read, they worked very closely together, so it would've been unlikely that the problems arose from bad communication.
Alright, fine. I'll put more along 80% of the blame on Nintendo (or at least Sakomoto) for the game being bad. :/ I just can't put it all on the company though, because if Team Ninja or anyone else working on it thought it was bad, they could've spoke up about it.

When the hell am I going to get another game set it 2100 that straps ridiculously fast ion rockets to small vehicles and has them race at supersonic speeds?

I just want to race something jet powered through some kind of metropolis. That's it.
