Shin Megami Tensei IV Tops Japan's Sales Charts

As soon as this game comes out here I'm dropping everything to buy a 3ds. It's getting too damn expensive to keep up with all these console jumps the series is making. I swear if SMT switches to xbox I'm gonna flip.

Cool, Love the SMT games even if they were hard as hell. I beat all 3 of them... eventually. (for reference the Shin Megami Tensei part is not on games like persona outside of japan. So I'm referring to just the "core" SMT games.}

You know there's a Shin Megami Tensei If... and a SMT Strange Journey. While Strange Journey was a smaller ds title, SMT If... is core enough to be featured in SMT x Fire Emblem.

Huh, never heard of that SMT if game. Well I guess not that one. But SMT 1,2, and Nocturne I have.

Not so sure about strange journey. Played that one too but I'm not sure if it's considered one. I don't think the Japanese title had the SMT part.

Well Aeon Genesis is getting close to finally translating it so that's something to look forward to as well.

Seriously though I live in the UK all I could wish for is SMT4 in some timely fashion, I had to wait for Devil Survivor 2 for ages and to be honest the only copy of Devil Survivor 1 I can find is Overclocked. Honestly I don't think we got brilliant Strange Journey over here.

If throwing money at my screen would help me get this one here quicker I would.

We got Overclocked and the sequel but yeah wish we got the first one when it was originally out in the US.

I'm in Australia, so PAL as well. The original DS wasn't region locked, just the 3DS, so you can import the US versions of Devil Survivor, Devil Survivor 2 and Strange Journey and they'll work just fine. I have Devil Survivor and Devil Survivor 2 which I picked up through a local store which imports any games that work on PAL consoles (so any DS or PS3 games they think will sell, regardless of region).

I did actually import a US 3DS though to play Devil Survivor Overclocked (loved the original that much) and so I'll be picking up SMT4 for that. Devil Survivor Overclocked did receive a PAL release recently though which made me feel a bit silly about getting the US 3DS - I'd just assumed it would never get a PAL release.
