Isoroku/Rin: The smoke is too thick to make out much of anything at all. You'll have to go inside if you want to explore...

She took a deep breath to prepare herself and took the first few steps forward until she disappeared into the thick fog. Kumiko felt a mixture of excitement and fear, stepping into a world of unknowns.

Isoroku gritted his teeth.

"We have to get aboard if we want to find out what the hell is going on... but if we do, we could be trapped..."

He could talk his way out of getting expelled... he could pry the doors open and throw the gun away if it came to it... so much risk, but he had to know what Mori was hiding...

He looked to Kojiro, then to Rin.

"Will you two come with me?"

Eber grinned quite widely and followed Kumiko inside, eager and determined... and with NO thought to consequence.

Kojiro hesitated at Isoroku's offer, but quickly cast it aside when he saw Mizushima enter. "HEY!" Kojiro called out suddenly terrified when Kumiko entered the train. "Stop! Kumiko!" He raced in after her past his friends and the others. his mind suddenly recalling the monster before the Velvet room and the dead students.

God damn, did none of this rich kids have any common sense or self preservation instinct?

Rin saw Kojiro rush after Mizushima, and quickly followed. She didn't want to get separated. "Come on Isoroku-san." She glanced back briefly at him before following Kojiro.

Once you've all entered the ghost train, the doors close immediately.

The white fog slowly dissipates.

You're standing in a train car full of corpses, draped over the seats and across the floor.

And not just the kind you've heard about in the papers: students and adults alike coming here to this station, found maimed in the tunnels far from where they began. These bodies have holes and slices and bites but lack any blood, their flesh a stark white. Their faces seem almost perfectly preserved. Though they've been brutally murdered, they appear to be at complete peace with the world.

Before you've even had time to register the grisly sight, you feel the train lurch forward, feel it strain against gravity to build its momentum and travel forward on the tracks again.

Eber runs to the door and pounds uselessly on it, ramming shoulder-first into the plexiglass, "What the fuck is this?! A game?!"

The bullet train continues to accelerate. Being familiar with underground transit for most of your life, you are quite positive the trains are not meant to reach this speed. You feel the terror start to take hold...

Rin felt fear grip her at the sight of the bodies. She latched onto Kojiro who had been standing right in front of her. "Whats going on, what is this?" Her body shook slightly.

Isoroku felt a plummeting sensation in his chest as he slowly registered that the car was full of bodies. He tried to make a connection in his mind as per what this could mean, but found nothing. This made no sense, on any level.

As the train lurched to a start, he was thrown off his feet, falling in a heap against a body. With a strangled gasp he struggled back to his feet and backed away from it, clinging on to a safety rail.

"Kojiro!" he screamed, staring at the corpse he'd touched, "What the fuck is this!? WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS!?"

"Damn it! Why did you all get on the train without thinking!" Kojiro started shouting, excusing the fact he was on the train himself. "The monster from the dream,"he turned to Isoroku and Rin, "Think about it. If the train is real. And I saw the Velvet room...all the dead students....this train is that monsters den!"

He turned to the German, "Quit doing that! You need to get ready! It will be here for us too!" Kojiro felt his heart racing. Were they going to die? Then why did they have that dream? Why did it want him to come here?

Were the dreams some trick by the monster to lure food? Damn it! How could he be so stupid!

"Ah!" Kumiko fell forward. She couldn't even stand before panic start to set in. This was not what she had in mind. She looked for an exit though she knew there would not be one and how would one get off a speeding train in the first place? "I didn't think that there would be monsters here!" she shouted, afterward it clicked in her head that he had the same dream as her. But the monster had been defeated in her dreams...

She tried to steady herself to stand up, she barely grasped onto a chair to hoist herself up. "Oh god, they're everywhere!" she covered her mouth, suddenly afraid to inhale.

It was all so unreal,it had to be a dream again. It had to.

Eber came away from the door, backing quickly up to the small throng of students, needing at least that small security while he struggled to keep control of himself.

"The dreams? You have all had that dream, too, that dream of the old man with the long nose, the monster that swallows you whole...!"

Kojiro turned around and took hold of Rin's shoulders. "Yes, yes...Igor and Eleanor..." He looked around. His mind wasn't really on being excited about another person who had had the dream now, just on surviving. "But the monster was there first...maybe we have to fight it to see them? Perhaps they are the wish granters..."

He looked around at the bodies and his face twisted in disgust. "We all need to work together, or we'll end up like them. What have we got to defend ourselves from this thing?!"

Rin clutched her book tightly at Kojiro's words and glanced around nervously. "We all must of had the dream. B..but why did they lead us to this, it doesn't make sense." She was shaking much worse now, and trying to reason things out wasn't helping her.

Isoroku shut his eyes for twenty seconds, and when he opened them, he felt much calmer. He listened to everything that was said, absorbing it.

"We've all had the same strange dreams," he stated calmly, "and now we're all here, and we're having a mass hallucination. Clearly, we're under the effect of some sort of psychotropic influence... possibly in our food, or the school's water."

He frowned, and shook his head, staring down at one of the corpses.

"But I don't know why. Could it have been an accident? Runoff from a biomedical company into the public water supply? Or could this all be a dream, too?"

"You...You had the dreams too?" Kumiko asked the blond in a more terrified manner than she would have liked. "And you too." she looked back to the group of students behind her. Her entire body shook. She'd give anything to be back in her dorm sleeping like she should have been. 'Why the five of us? And...and these people...'

"Ishikawa, I want you to be wrong about this. About that monster..." she backed herself towards the closest person to her; the foreign student.

Eber tried one of the doors leading to the car ahead of them. Locked. When he turned back to the others his face was nearly as pale as the dead. "No good. We have no option, the long-haired boy is right. Illusion or not, we will defend ourselves!"

His hand went to Mizushima's shoulder. Somehow, having the young woman there made him feel stronger. His other hand loosed the knife he carried, though he was unsure how effective it would be against that... that thing.

Outside the windows, the tunnels walls blurred and distorted. As the wheels ground against the tracks to build their speed, it changed further, until there were no walls, just a mass of swirling energy, violet and turbulent. The metal whine of the train against the tracks only got louder.

"Something's happening..."

"What is your wish?"

"Wha--"

Eber stiffened and looked everywhere for the source of the voice. Even without being told, he knew it wasn't a physical presence--it was something that was everywhere and nowhere at once.

"What is your wish? We will take you to a state of mind transcendent from all reality. You will no longer need the material. You will be one of many."

"What the hell is going on?!"

"Renounce your ownership of the World. Come to us."

"No...!"

"Relinquish your hold upon the World."

The train jolted and shook violently. The lights were dying out. Things were shifting in the darkness--wicked things.

"Relinquish your hold upon the World."

Will you?

Isoroku frowned into the swirling energy outside the window.

Already he was abandoning his theory. It seemed even crazier than what was happening. But what was happening? He was finally able to accept that, for the time being, he wasn't going to have the answer to that question.

He felt little need to speak to the others. He did not see the point. He glanced and Kojiro and Rin and saw them nearly stuck together, and he felt the odd sensation he'd felt in class that morning. When the voice spoke to them, he found himself taken aback. He hadn't actually planned to get a wish granted. He hadn't prepared one... but surely there was something he wanted...

He listened to what the voice said. Fear took him when it suggested leaving material reality, but suddenly he also realized that he wasn't entirely happy with how his life had shaped out. He realized that a big change would probably be an improvement.

The dream had said to find a door. Was this it? Was he being offered passage?

Maybe he didn't really care.

"Yes," he finally said, directing it quietly to the empty air in front of him. "Yes, all right."
