Question: In a situation like the above story, if someone made you angry and you wanted to express your anger but you know it is something they would not understand. Would you even make an attempt to express your anger out on them knowing they don't care/don't understand why you would be angry? or would you control it by bottling it up?

More importantly, why was this guy asking /b/ for help?

/b/tards should seriously stop posting their shit on this... I really don't want to see it turned into another 4chan board. Also, why didn't he just close the clamshell of the DS? That pauses the game and saves a shitoad of power. Then again, I wouldn't expect that kind of logic from someone who thinks shouting TRAP at every picture is funny.

That's what I was wondering. Why didn't he simply close the DS, which would've paused the game right where it was and he could've gone back to it later when he'd tended to his girlfriend which was infinitely more important than a damn game of Pokemon.

Okay, so my girlfriend was supposed to come over to my house today because I was going to go take her to a movie. She lives about 20 minutes away, and the movie we were supposed to see started at 4:15, which was in about 40 minutes. I figured "cool, I'll just play Pokemon while I wait".
So I'm playing Pokemon, and having a pretty damn good time. Anyway, she finally does show up, except she's crying as she walks into my room. Instead of doing the right thing by comforting her, I half-focus on my game and her. She starts telling me her cat died, and just as she was getting into it, I get into a random encounter in my game.

A shiny pidgey. Holy shit. (For those of you who don't know/care, shiny Pokemon have less than a 1/1,000 chance of appearing; 1/8192 to be exact.). I stare into my screen in amazement, yelling "holy shit, YES", interrupting her mid-story. She sobs more, and she starts to yell "You don't even fucking care! YOU JUST WANT TO PLAY YOUR FUCKING GAME!" I'm still looking at my screen, still focusing on catching my shiny Pidgey, when she walks over, and tosses the game against the wall. I run over and pick up my DS hoping that nothing has changed on screen, and quickly noticed that she broke it. My system and my shiny Pidgey, gone forever.

I start screaming every obscenity I know, and started flailing my arms around. I didn't know she was behind me, and apparently I backhanded her in the face while I was being a dumbass and swinging my fists around. She yells out "FUCK YOU", and runs out of my house in tears.
What have I done? I've fucked up so badly, and I need to know how to approach her. I don't want a game of Pokemon to be responsible for ruining my best relationship ever. Help me, /b/.

Edit: I don't suffer from anger management, I was just curious about what people would do in this situation.

I agree. I seriously think that this "/b/" person should seek professional help. I'm not pointing any fingers, but "your friend" should seek counseling for "his" anger management issue. There's not much the internet can do at this point.

I have lost it before. It was not fun. I never went to formal anger management because football season was starting again. I ended up hurting a close friend, which I felt horrible about. Keep it cool guys, keep is cool.

Has anyone legitimately caught every pokemon in shiny form? Is it decided when you challenge the pokemon, or sooner? So, if I want a shiny legendary (possible?) can I just save in front of it, and keep battling it and resetting until it's shiny? If so, that may become my lifes work... Yes I am that crazy.

Interesting - this only happened to me once (damn you Banjo Kazooie) where I totally lost it. After that I noticed that it just wasn't healthy to throw a N64 cartridge across the room so hard to break it, and that there were probably other ways of dealing with losing, you know, such as CALMING DOWN.

Anyway I'm much better, but this story - yes it is a bit of an over-reaction. Who would lose a real-life person just because of a game?
