Shiny Pokemon

Have you ever encountered a shiny pokemon? Which one? Did you catch it?


The reason I started this thread is because I ran into a shiny gastly a few minutes ago(in the Safari Zone of HG) and it got away(how sad). It was the first non-story related shiny pokemon I ran into.

edit: I also ran into a shiny Chancey about 3 hours later. Once again in the Safari Zone and once again it got away.

I found a shiny Rattata on my way to catch Ho-Oh in HG, so that was a pretty nice bonus.

I caught a shiny Oddish in Fire Red. In Soul Silver, a similar situation happened to me as well - a shiny Geodude escaped my grasp in the Safari Zone.

I've run into quite a few shiny Pokemon. The most recent was a shiny Zigzagoon in Pokemon Sapphire. Caught it and started raising it, until I got bored with Sapphire. Haven't played it in months.

Isn't there some battle tower in one of the games with wild pokemon in it that you can't catch? I remember people saying they've found shinies in there, which is even worse.

OT: I have a shiny roselia and a shiny kricketune. Both of them are shit Pokemon so I just shove them into the box and do nothing with them.

I've only ever caught 2 (besides the Red Gyrados). A zubat and a wingull.

OT: I have a shiny roselia and a shiny kricketune. Both of them are shit Pokemon so I just shove them into the box and do nothing with them.

Not so much catch as fight against them and fight beside them in tag team matches. They're NPCs.

Its happened to me. I nearly threw my DS out the freaking window.

The only shiny pokemon I've found on my own (excluding story-based ones like Red Gyrados) was a stupid shiny Bibarel. Retarded beaver can't even be shiny properly, it's the exact same shade of brown it always was. Not to mention it's pretty much useless in battle anyways.

Far as ones I've traded for, I'm always happy to use my golden Geodude in tiny pokemon battles.

I used to have a ton of shiny Spinarak in my Crystal version. Oddly though, even though I know I had at least 3 of them, I remember going back to my Crystal and having them all be normal colored again.
