It has come to the point that it is pretty stupid to expect me to remember much of anything.

Sometimes I'll forget what I was saying in mid-sentence. And then I have to dick around and go off on tangents until I remember again. But I never remember again, so I have to pretend like the point I was making was hidden somewhere amidst all the bullshit I spouted.
Then I shirk off sheepishly and hope nobody saw through me.

I'll be friends with a person for months without knowing their name. I'm too embarrassed to admit I've forgotten it. I just wait in the hopes that someone else will use it and I'll know. Or I'll go over to their house and check their mail while they're not looking.

I always forget the details of, or the entirety of a story someone tells me if it has nothing to do with me. I've learned to just say "OH yeah!" and pretend like I know what they're talking about if they bring it up again.
