Well, I've been contemplating typing this out on the forums for a pretty decent amount of time, and I've finally decided to just write it up and get it over with.

I am not a female.

Now when I first came here, I used an avatar of Hayley Williams, as I am a big fan of Paramore. As time went on, people started to assume I was a female (a rather humorous situation) and really took no questioning to it. While my initial reaction was to dispel the belief, I ended up leaving the topic untouched for a while. People started to question what sex I was after an amount of time and I was pressured to make a statement on the whole "What gender is Shivari?" thing, so I decided to go with what everyone had initially assumed; I said that I was a girl.

So basically, I ran with it and decided that I couldn't go back from there. I definitely found it interesting how the same personality can be more hailed when the gender is viewed differently, but other than noticing that and the occasional giggling at some of the fanboys I acquired, I went about my forum life as if it were no different than anything else. I wasn't trying to trick people; it was just something that I was doing. I will say that everything I have said on these forums that hasn't had to do with stating my gender has been completely factual. I'm still the same person with the same opinions and same personality; you just now have a fainter hint as to what I may actually look like.

So hate me if you wish, as I did lie to you and to everyone on here. It's something I porbably should have never started, but I did. It's been a situation that I took advantage of, nothing more, and nothing less. I apologize if this has annoyed or hurt you in any way, just understand that I had no mal intent.

So, in case this totally doesn't justify being a thread at all, a discussion prompt could be "What have you ever had to confess?"

You know.

By putting this out there, it shall descend in fires.

Awesome fires, but fires nonetheless.

Umm confessed? I told a girl I have known for going on four years now, that last year I was lying to her about something. She took it well... (I still have all my body parts) We are now a lot closer though.

I thought so. I honestly did. I don't remember you posting a picture of yourself in the Pix Plz thread, as did Ultrajoe, and I instantly thought youu had something to hide, as you did seem to join in the circle jerk. My memory is a little fuzzy but I'm pretty sure that's the way it went down. I figured if you where going to post in a Pix Plz thread but not show your identity then there was a stong chance you are not who you say you are.

I actually have my doubts about Ultrajoe's gender as well however you can trace that back to plain old suspicion and an itching for detective work. Something just doesn't add up. Actually this could be another ruse and you could be female, just trying to trick people.

Honestly though, if someone believed you where female it is their fault. I remember when you first came here and nearly everyone asumed that because of the avatar you must be female. I stand by a belief that you should always be suspicious of others when metting over the internet and never make assumptions about them, because of that I find it hard to really believe a lot of what people here say, especially of themselves. I suppose it might be a kind of demented existance but it stopped me from becoming a Shivari fanboy, didn't it?

A better person would have told the truth though.

Knowing who Hayley Williams is and the type of people that like Hayley Williams enough to use her image as an avatar, I never once thought you were a female. Though truth be told, I see everyone online as genderless.

It's like I occasionally contemplate saying to no one in particular: "When it comes to the internet, men are men, women are men, and children are FBI agents."

Wait, so first we find out that Ultrajoe is female and now Shivari is male? Huh... well, to this information I say...

So what? You're still the same person you were two days ago, regardless of what you claimed to be or what you didn't.

As for what I've admitted, I had to admit I was gay. That was a big one. And yeah, it pretty much ended up being the same thing as I just said. I'm still who I was three seconds ago, just with a bit of more information shared. It's like finding out where you went to high school or what your favorite movie is.
The same thing happened when I admitted to being gay.
It didn't change who I am, just the dynamic of the discussion I was having at the time.

Yes. [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.108007]
Haha yeah. I had heard about the meet I just neglected to read your report on it. 'Twas a good read I say. If I had money to kill I'd definitely go to one of these things. I love laser tag!

I honestly don't know who you are. I'm a newbie.
But I think it's a slightly good thing that it bothered you enough that you decided to be honest about it than never doing so at all, despite how petty the subject is, especially of all places: the internet.

Expect some inflammatory comments of people commenting of how they don't give two shits when they easily can ignore the topic.

*Exaggerated gasp* You lied to us!

Actually, I'll admit I had assumed you were a girl (I don't really know why, probably because of your avatar and the fact that people referred to you as such) but I don't really care, since as you said it doesn't really matter.

On topic, That's pretty interesting. I'm not sure what to say to that (they don't sell "so you admitted your not a girl" cards in the store). It's an interesting story of the power of the anonymity of the Internet though.
