I mostly wear thongs (No not that kind of thong, it's flip-flop to those outside of Australia) due to the fact that I live near the beach, they're easy to slip on and I really couldn't care less about what goes on my feet.

I wear Docs. They are invincible and make me feel invincible. Especially since they have steel toes, and most of my friends have balls. Although for the most part, they spend a lot of time gingerly kicking the doors open in public toilets.
