Shooter at large on Virgina Tech campus.

So apparently there are confirmed reports that two people, including a police officer have been shot and killed at Virgina Tech. Thus far, there is not a ton of information aside from a description of the suspect, and that two people are dead. The police are hunting for the suspect and I'll try to keep you all informed the best I can.

EDIT: So apparently what started this was a routine traffic stop when the suspect shot the officer who stopped him, then took off through a parking lot where a second victim was found.

EDIT: So the police are now saying that the second victim may have been the shooter, as they have found a weapon near where the body was found. Officials are expected to end the lock down soon.

EDIT Turns out that the guy who shoot the cop wasn't even the person being stopped. Supposedly he just walked up and shot the officer. The lock down has been lifted and its all but confirmed that the second body was that of the shooter, who apparently shot himself.

Everyone at my school is all freaked out over it right now. Of course, we're a little university about 20 minutes from there, so lots of people have friends over there. In fact, some of our students are over there right now.

While I get as pissed off when games are blamed for stuff like this as everyone else on this site, I think the bigger issue here is that there is a homicidal maniac on the loose in a school full of kids as we speak. Get some perspective. Also, making jokes about it while its still happening, that's definitely too soon.

OT: How can this possibly happen twice in the same place! You would think, after the first time, they'd make the security on campus much tighter.
