Should Bloodborne really be an M Rated game?

To be honest I was very much surprised it got the relatively safe '16' rating here in Britain. It's definitely much darker than both Dark Souls and has some seriously menacing and disturbing imagery in the first few minutes. The game's named 'BLOODborne', and it definitely lives up to it.

Exactly. Good gravy, when I was a kid the Redead from Ocarina of Time gave me nightmares, I can only imagine the mental trauma playing Bloodborne would have caused.

I don't really understand this desire to stamp out the innocence of childhood. Can't kids have a time where they are blissfully unaware of how horrible the world is before we start desensitizing them to the most monstrous creations a depraved mind can concoct?
